I want to remove haircolor from my hair. But am not sure if this product will work. I had a really bad experience at this hair salon, they totally ruined my hair! I have natural black hair. Anyhow, I got highlights, but they turned out horrible. The hair stylist overbleached my hair and it turned a nasty yellow. So, I ended up covering the nasty yellow highlights with a darker haircolor, which was dark burgundy. It turned out good and covered all of the yellow. But then it's fading to a yucky light brown. I don't want to go over it with another hair color. If I use this product will it be able to remove the dye that I added on? And is it easy to use? I would like to give my hair a much needed rest from coloring, I really wanna try to get back my natural hair color. Oh Dear...What a DISASTER. I just did the VERY same thing.. DON'T use PRELL, or other harsh shampoos. I bought one'n only Colorfix Jheri Redding. Found it on the internet.. i wasn't sure how much to buy so i bought 2 boxes (18.00 per box) I only needed 1/4 a bottle, But it was Sooooooooooooo worth it! now i can have it on hand for the NEXT time it happens to me or a friend.
The big tip here is: Don't use the Processing lotion as it dries your hair out and you'll have to re-dye. I mixed 1 oz (1/4) of the bottle Color Reducer & 1 oz (1/4) of the bottle of Conditioning Catylist to 2 oz of GOOD shampoo in a bowl. USE GLOVES I applied it the the ends first going up to the roots. I left it on for 45 minutes under a plastic bowl cover that doubled as a hair shower cap. It came out PERFECT medium golden brown. tho i purchased the lighter brown dye just in case.. there was absolutely NO need to re- dye! IT was kind of stinky but the shampoo and conditioner took most of that away. I conditioned AGAIN under the shower cap for 45 minutes to an hour .. tho it isn't harsh.. again Just in case.. and Voila! Perfection[/b] | too blonde
i just dyed my hair blonder with Feria (by loreal) and the blonde is too yellow-y. earlier this month i got white-blonde hightlights from a professional and i absoultey love them. could colorfix possibly make my blonde less yellow, without loosing the highlights? Unfortunately, Colorfix won't be able to lighten the color and take out the yellow tone. You may have to talk to a salon professional for it | | Reply by nicole

You can get rinses that will tone your yellow down at a beauty supply store...also there are natural remedies that Im not quite sure of!! But you dont have to go to a professional...also....you Could re dye with a wheat blonde....which has no potential for turning yellow. | | Reply by Kristine

When I have gone too blonde, with a brassy or yellow undertone, I have used Born Blonde Toner in Blissfully Blonde. Make sure you buy the packet of crystals too. It took out the yellow and left me with beautiful results.
Toner has a purple tone which counteracts the red/brassy/gold tones.
It works :) | Black Dye
I dyed my hair black with Garnier 100% Colour about a month a a half ago. It has faded a lot, but the colour is still there and I hate it. I have read that the only way to get black dye out is with bleach or stripping the colour, 2 things I am not too keen on doing. So will Colorfix really work on removing black permanant hair dye? I am not sure what Garnier 100% is made of, but ColorFix should be able to take off any permanent ammonia or peroxide hair dye | | Reply by Linda Champagne

Colorfix with 20 volume peroxide will remove it and get it ready for another color. Sometime this process needs to be repeated. | orange hair!
