Ive been coloring my hair for years. It is a dark brown and when it grows out it is a salt and peper gray. Would this product work to get back to my natural gray hair?

This is the exact type my hair is, and the exact thing I wanted to do. I used the product twice, one week apart, doing two 20 minute applications each time. I had let my hair grow out about 3 inches before trying Color Fix. The product did not affect the new growth color. In the front, where the most grey is, my hair turned strawberry blond, not a brassy color, but one that greatly minimized the demarcation line between the dyed ends and the undyed roots. In the back, where there is less grey to grip the hair dye, the color fix did not change my natural color. I would recommend the product, it did not damage my hair at all. I did not use the #3 bottle at all. Beware, the product leaves your hair STINKING like home perm for more than a week. I used a light spritz of perfume to cover the smell.

No... just keep refreshing your color as it fades.

Can you go from light to dark?
If you have dyed your hair a lighter color and wish to go back to your light brown/dirty blonde will this product do that? Or does this only take people who dyed their hair darker back to a lighter color?

This only works to remove color. You probably bleached your hair so I do no think that this product will work.

Orange Hair!!
I have naturally blond hair and recently colored it black and hated it. I used the ColorFix and it removed most of the color but now its orange. Do I need to bleach it rest out?

Does Colorfix make your hair normal color again?
So, I was wondering if Colorfix would make my hair blonde, like other color-strippers, or if it would take my hair back to my original golden-brown. I have read up on the product, but I am still unsure. ANY answer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Me.

dying your hair after colorfix
hello there, i wanted to know if there is anyone out there that could answer this, i pulled out five years of black hair dye with colorfix, it's up to a dark cinnamon/red color right now, i want to lighten it more in the future i'm going to give my hair a rest for a little and get rid of that stink, but i did a strand test and the instant developer and some color touched a piece of my hair it went straight to jet black, any help or suggestions? i would like to be able to dye my hair in the future a lighter shade. thanks!i'm currently using porosity control by roux to fill in the gaps in my hair.

The same thing happened to me today. I used Colorfix and when I dyed it a MUCH lighter color afterwards it went back to my orginal color. But not just that... colorfix had made it an even brown color and my roots weren't showing anymore, but when I put an Ash Blonde onto it after Colorfix it just went back to almost black hair with my gross roots still showing. I know this doesn't help, sorry.

I tried the same thing a few days ago, and I was surprised to see the same thing happen. After doing some research, I discovered that it was because colorfix makes your hair very porous, so this time (I am doing a strand test of colorfix right now to see exactly what level I want to get it up to this time) I am going to use a neutral protein filler before I recolor my hair. (You can get it at Sally's). It basically fills in some of the protein and makes your hair less porous so not as much color will fill in. Also, I followed the directions on the package of the haircolor and left it in for the full 20 minutes, but the message boards I have been reading have said to leave it in for only 5-7 minutes after colorfix. So I am definitely doing a strand test this time. Strand test, strand test, strand test!

black to platinum
I have read all the reviews on the colorfix hair product and I was wondering, I am 40 and I have let my hair grow out for a couple of months which it is now black and silver. Of course grey hair has reached my age early in life, but I want to know, will it change my hair color from a semi-black to a red-ish or to my actual black and or will it be dried out alot? I have cut off my hair due to dryness and overprocessing of chemicals and I want to make sure this will be o.k. Also, I would like to go platinum, but I want to make sure this will help instead of hurt the process?

chemical smell won't go away!!
I used colorfix 6 days ago and the results I got were amazing...I couldn't be happier. The problem is that my hair still stinks to high heaven! I shampooed and conditioned immediately following the process, and I've been washing my hair EVERYDAY since and it still STINKS!!! Is there any at home remedy or specific product that I could use to get this smell out? I had expected the stink for a day or so, but I feel it has been so long now...I don't know what to do.

Lightly dampen your hair, and pour tomato juice on it. Rub in to cover all hair. Wrap hair ina towel, and clip up hair. (So it doesn't drip). After 15 minutes, rinse out, and condition it. This should help some.

went back to its dyed color
I used color fix and it worked amazing, my hair went back to a dark blonde. Now,a week later, my hair is totally brown again the color I died it and I don't know why. Does anyone know how I can prevent it from going back to the color I dyed it. I followed the exact directions on the box.

Did you use step #3? The reason your hair went back is because all of the dye wasn't out the first time and as time went by it oxidized and darkened. Step 3 will help you find out if you need to repeat steps 1 and 2 again until all of the old dye is removed.
