Please help. I am so scared to use this. I have black dyed hair (naturally dark brown) with gray roots and have been using Loreal Natural Match (natural black) color to try and cover up those grays. Because my hair is so dark, my grays start showing up after a week after dying. My main goal is to lighten my hair so my grays blend in but I know that can't happen for a while. I want to get all the black out but I don't want orange hair. Heck, I would be happy with dark brown hair just to get the black out. Here are my questions: 1) Will Color Fix turn my black hair to a darker brown color or orange? 2) My gray roots are showing, will I be able to color them without turning my hair dark black again? 3) If my hair turns out a dark brown color, what color can I dye my roots so they won't turn black? 4) How soon can I color my hair after using ColorFix? Thanks Question posted by Kim K. Mon Sep 08 2008 Submit your answer PLEASE HELP!!!
I have been dying my naturally light blonde hair a blue-black for over a year. I have used Clairol's Nice 'n Easy and a few other brands. I've also dyed my roots brown a few times (an attempt to let the hair grow out brown), but ended up dying it all black again. I'm SO tired of having black hair, and it's becoming really bothersome. I have super pale skin and light eyebrows and lashes, and I hate that I have to wear make up all the time now! SO, should I bother with Colorfix or should I let my hair grow out and look gross? I'm not going to strip it because I've heard so many horror stories of dyed black hair that gets stripped and feels "gluey" for a long time afterward. I already have pretty short hair (think like Katie Holmes)... Should I bother? Will this product really help me out? Advice? THANK YOU!! I've been researching on some stuff to do my cousin's hair. We would like to go Platinum together. She is naturally a dirty blonde, but in the past few months used a temporary, then Herbal Essences red dye. Everything I'm reading points me to the following steps:1. Use ColorFix2. Bleach (I Plan to use Feria 225 Bleach Blonding)3. TonerHas anyone done this? In 1 day? I plan to do a strand test no matter what but I was hoping someone has done this successfully. Question posted by Bree Tue Jul 15 2008 Submit your answer HAIR DISASTER. HELP! WHAT TO AVOID?
hi. ive gone from blonde to brown to black. i then bleached my hair n put cherry red on it. this was in 2006 (stupid i know). then i had the color stripped from my hair and it was a citrus orange mess. so dark brown was put on my hair. i then had highlights put in unprofessionally. after a few washes it began to turn the highlights blonde which i loved. then stupid move..i went to the salon and they dyed it cherry red on the top half and black on the lower half. i loved it. had it redone one more time till i decided i hated it. then i had it done black on the top half and it was stripped on the lower half so that it could be as light as possible. it turned to about a copper redish color till many weeks later where i realized it began to lighten up and is now the color that i want my entire head. i began to see the red slightly in the sun again after about 3 months so i just redyed the black only. i left the lower part which is blonde, alone. now my question is..after ALL of this what do you think One and Only ColorFix will do for my hair? what color do you believe i will end up with? and if i do end up with an orangish tint is there anything i can put on it to minimize the orangish tint? ALSO CAN ANYONE PLEASE WRITE OUT THE STEPS OR PRODUCTS THAT I SHOULD SKIP OR DEFINITLY DO. I KEEP HEARING ABOUT A TONER THAT I SHOULD PUT ON THAT WILL TAKE AWAY THE ORANGISH TINT BUT IVE ALSO HEARD THAT LATER YOUR HAIR GETS DARKER THAN IT WAS BEFORE. SO SHOULD I SKIP IT? BASICALLY WHAT SHOULD I SKIP AND WHAT SHOULD I ABSOLUTLY DO? I WANA GO AS LIGHT AS POSSIBLE TO GET BLONDE BACK OR DIRTY BLONDE. thanks! sorry for the long post. I naturally have blonde hair and have been dying it a dark brown for 6 years. I used the color fix two days ago. I did the full color corection for 40 mins under heat. Without the processing lotion. And my hair turned a color between light brown and blonde. And I couldn't have been happier. Untill today I get out of the shower and my hair is almost as dark as it was before the color fix. What happned? Question posted by Casey Fri Feb 01 2008 Submit your answer | Reply by Dominique

If you used the third bottle that will happen. Just do it again and throw out the lotion. | | Reply by Jennifer

The reason the third bottle is in there, is because it oxidizes the hair. This turns it darker. By not using the third bottle, you are only prolonging the darkening process, but it WILL darken on its own after a few days.
My advice? Use the third bottle. Then you can see immediately if you need to repeat the process or not. | ruby red

No it is not a bleach at all. It unbinds the color you put on your hair so it comes off. when you use it, it will get rid of the black and won't alter bleached highlights. When you dye your hair red it will dye the highlights so you will have to do them again. | HELP
so i need help, my natural hair color is a dirty blonde/lightbrown with blonde highlights. so i started highlighting it a year ago, then i dyed it red and then that faded so i dyed it brown with blonde highlights but the red came thru then i dyed it a lighter brown with blonde highlights and no red came thru then i just got blond highlights and the lady left them in for long so my hair would be blonde, my hair was broken and over processed plus i iron it so it wasnt healthy, then i dyed i got my roots highlighted blonde again. THEN since it was DEAD like gay. i dyed it one color brown with a few highlights and the blonde came thru. then i went to the drugstore and bought a dark chocolate color from garnier and it was wayyyyy to dark and greenish kinda from the blonde. so then i went to another salon and she "lifted" it but now its like reddish brownish oragnish auburn!. i really want golden regular light brown no more red. so if i use it? will it work since ive died my hair and i straighten it alot?. and i noticed alot of the results come out ORANGE!!!. i dont want anything orangish or red. please be honest and tell me if its going to be another disaster. I currently have medium-brown died hair and i want to dye it super blonde. My natural hair color is a strawberry blonde, so i was wondering if you can use the colofix to remove the brown and then dye it afterwards or is that too much chemical action for my hair?? Do it, don't use the 3rd bottle though. Wait 2 days and only wash with conditioner. Use K-pak on it (conditioner) then after it's rested for those two days bleach it. | Will colorfix take out Bigen/ oriental black?

I've using Bigen Oriental black for at least 8 to 10 yrs. now and yes colorfix will remove the black. I bought 2 boxes because my hair is past my shoulders to make sure i had enough. I used colorfix with med. heat for 20 min. washed it out. Reapplied for 30 more min. with heat and please use a plastic cap when under the dryer it worked i went to a med. brown. I recommend this product to those people say there's no hope. Cutting off was out of the question for me and bleaching was a no-no considering i am afro -american female with thin weak hair. The smell is still lingering after a week. I'm thinking because i tried to recolor with a red with a brown base. Hair went back almost black,so i used colorfix again 2 days later and now it's dark brown with a burgundy tint which i love. When i get ready to go lighter i will use colorfix once more. For those of my ethnic class i have relaxed my thin-weak hair with a kid's relaxer (PCJ) a week later and my hair has not broken or shed no more than the normal shedding nothing drastic at all very pleased with product. | will the black come back? help!
ok, so i used colorfix today and i read somehwere that it shrinks the dye molecules in your hair and allows them to escape. however, this source also wrote that, given time, the molecules will re-expand, ulimately making the dye come back. my hair is orgigonally dark brown, but i dyed it black... dont ask why. now, after colorfix, it is almost my natural color, mabe a little redder, and im happy with it, but plan to dye it next week. so my question is, if i wait a week after colorfixing to dye my hair lighter, will it revert to the black that i had dyed it before? is there something i should be doing while it is healing? i really dont want to have to colorfix again if i dont have to and i didnt want to dye it today, beucase i want to minimize any damage to my hair, if possible. Hi! I used color fix to get rid of black. I waited a few days to re-dye for the same fears you are! My hair naturally is light blonde. The color fix removed my black and left it a copper/light brown color. I dyed it a honey blonde and it turned it a light to medium brown with some lighter highlights. I was hoping for a color closer to my natural color... but I'm satisfied with the results. The black is gone!!
So I would say that yes the color fix got rid of the black... but when I re-dyed after black removal it turned probably 2 shades darker than the color I expected. It's not black though!!
Make sure you use a good conditioner while your hair is "breathing"... Not only will it make it easier to brush but will cover that light "chemical" smell that it leaves behind for a few days. |
