I'm not very good with blowdrying my hair straight so I thought this would be fantastic - it does straighten pretty well, but it is INCREDIBLY harsh on your hair. After using it for a couple weeks my hair was so dry and frazzled that I had to stop using it. I kept it because it could be convenient in a rush or for traveling, but it's not good for daily use.
have never even written a review before....

....but had to because in my 38 years, I've never blown dry my own hair! I am biracial and have nearly two heads worth of curly, coarse, thick hair. Trying to blow dry my own hair with a brush would just turn into a big mess. I either paid for blow outs (from only experienced salons- some hairstylists couldn't even do it!) or by myself- I used to let my hair air dry (for basically a day) then flat iron. But this dryer actually works! And I can't even imagine with practice how much better it will get. I still flat ironed, but then it was so easy, smoother and shinier, and of course, the time difference. Can't believe I'm writing a review- but it's thanks to others' reviews that I actually dared to try it (having become a skeptic after usually spending countless $$$$ on things that never work for me). It's all about pulling the hair taut with the other hand, so I imagine the thicker the hair- the better. Excellent!

Love it, dries my hair so fast. Just as good as the pricey ones out there.
Much easier to use than traditional blow dryers.

My hair's professionally straightened at the salon, (the Hawiian method (similar to Japanese straightening but not as radically straight to allow for curling and styling).
To add lift and volume the the hair it still needs to be blow dried. I however cannot blow dry my own hair. It's always a fuzzy disaster. I was surprised at how much easier it was with the ConairPro. I am still working at finessing my styling technique per the instruction manual. But initial results had me quite optimistic that I'd be a pro in no time. My only complaint is that I wish the dryer was a bit more powerful.
Thee best
