It works well to blowdry your hair smooth, but it does not straighten your hair. It is very fast, and the attatchment makes blowdrying so much easier, though it is still hard to do the back. It's easier to use then only a brush and dryer though, by far.
Not good for short /medium/shaggy layered hair

First off, let me say that my dryer did NOT come with the instructional DVD, so I had to rely on the manual only. Perhaps I would've liked this product if the DVD enlightened me as to how this works because for the life of me it did nothing for my medium length shaggy-layered hair. Upon looking at the pictures in the manual, you can see the model with long hair, holding hair taut with one hand as the other hand is holding the dryer. I thought the comb attachment would somehow latch on gently to my hair to dry and straighten, but it didn't!I realized that I was supposed to use both hands as the model shows, but with my shorter layers it was akward and the dryer was heavy.
I can't believe so many people love this--are most of the good reviews from long haired women? Why do you have to use two hands for a dryer with a comb? I have a brush-dryer and it works great with one hand. I returned the Conair and got a Soli iron instead, back to the 2-tools routine again (dryer and iron). Sigh.
My hair has never looked worse

My hair was frizzier and limper than it has ever been. I hated this dryer more than any I have ever tried!
Doesn't Straighten.

I use this blow dryer just to dry. I don't even put the straightening tool on. Because if you have wavy and a little bit curly hair. It'll poof and not straighten just make it wavy.

This Conair blow dryer is wonderful and handles great with the comb attached. It is so much easier that holding a comb in one hand and a blow dryer in the other. I just love this product and will recommend it to anyone who likes nice hair.
very good!

I'd have to say that it takes just as much time, if not more time to dry your hair, but the results last a longer time. My hair feels really good, and it's not very frizzy, either. It comes w/ a short instruction DVD, so it's easy to learn. I think they came out w/ one that u can use w/ one hand, so I think I will buy that one next time + it seems smaller and easier to handle. Other than that, i definitely prefer it to my other dryer and I can do a lot more with my hair now.

I've been using this product for a few weeks and i simple love in it. Is easy to handle and i cut the blower time in a half. iS SO GOOOD, that I bought one for my mom (her hair is thicker and shorter than mine, and she never dried her hair before) she is using a hair drair for the first time and she is so happy that is calling everyone to invite them to get one for them.
Buy it. you will no regret it.

This hairdryer was worth every penny. It saves me loads of time on drying and straightening my hair. I have wavy hair and this dryer makes it sleek and frizz free. I used to wait for my hair to dry and then spend more time straightening it with the straight iron. Thanks to this dryer I don't have to even use the straight iron anymore. This was a good investment.

I have very curly hair and I used to have to set a hair dryer on the edge of a bed so that my hands were free to use a brush to dry and straighten my hair, but this works great and takes half the time it originally took. Love it!

It is a great dryer but I do not like the comb attachment. I just use the nozzle to dry my hair and then flat iron it. It only took about 5 to 10 minutes to dry my hair.

I do think this dryer makes it easier to get my hair straight and style it but it really seems to dry out my hair and I am getting a lot of breakage to my otherwise healthy hair. I also found that ceramic comb attachment keeps popping off during drying even when I press in the tabs as instructed to remove it and even when I leave it on tension setting #4

I love this blow dryer, it's amazing.
I guess I have nothing to compare it too, because before this I had some blowdryer I got at like..a dollar store.. just 'cause I never blow dryed my hair.
But then I became a girl and started styling it.
Naturally I have a layerd head of relatively straight hair wit ha bit of a wave near the end.
The straightening-thingar-in-the-blow-dryer didn't get rid of that wave, so I suppose it doesn't make your hair dead straight.
What it -does- do is make your hair shiney, silky..and, in my opinion, nice to the touch.
And a fast blow dry too, I love this blowdryer.
Worth zee moniez people.

I used to wait for my hair to air dry and then straighten or curl it because hairdryers made my hair big and frizzy. This one dries and straightens in about 10 minutes. I love it.
Very drying

I'm not very good with blowdrying my hair straight so I thought this would be fantastic - it does straighten pretty well, but it is INCREDIBLY harsh on your hair. After using it for a couple weeks my hair was so dry and frazzled that I had to stop using it. I kept it because it could be convenient in a rush or for traveling, but it's not good for daily use.
have never even written a review before....

....but had to because in my 38 years, I've never blown dry my own hair! I am biracial and have nearly two heads worth of curly, coarse, thick hair. Trying to blow dry my own hair with a brush would just turn into a big mess. I either paid for blow outs (from only experienced salons- some hairstylists couldn't even do it!) or by myself- I used to let my hair air dry (for basically a day) then flat iron. But this dryer actually works! And I can't even imagine with practice how much better it will get. I still flat ironed, but then it was so easy, smoother and shinier, and of course, the time difference. Can't believe I'm writing a review- but it's thanks to others' reviews that I actually dared to try it (having become a skeptic after usually spending countless $$$$ on things that never work for me). It's all about pulling the hair taut with the other hand, so I imagine the thicker the hair- the better. Excellent!
