Use for African Americans
Would you recommend this dryer for African American, who are transitioning from relaxers?

I would not recommend this dryer for african american hair because i found it to be very drying to my hair and I have a relaxer. I prefer to air dry my hair and flat iron it with a ceramic flat iron. It's more time consuming but it's worth it.

This is not a dual voltage dryer. It only works with 110V.

short hair
How does this product work on short hair? I have noticed all the models have long hair.

My hair is 1/2 way between chin & shoulder length. Just bought this dryer and have only used it once, decent results but my hair is pretty straight anyway. It was hard to hold the hair straight with my other hand, probably because it's too short. Also, I have pretty thick hair, but not course, and the straightening attachment doesn't seem to really catch by the end of the hair. I'm hoping to perfect my technique so maybe it will be better.

I do not recommend this for anyone with short or layered hair that has short layers(like a shag). I bought this but it does not "catch" your hair and the models in the manual all have long hair which they are holding with one hand while the other hand holding the dryer does the drying, supposedly while detangling and smoothing your hair. Even the bangs on the model are long in the section that shows how to straighten bangs. It did not work well for my shaggy-style hair.

how the ionic styler works
Do you have to blow dry your hair first and then the ionic styler straightens? or can you just leave your hair wet and it blow dries and straightens your hair at the same time?

thats what it claims to do, but dont waste your money the blowdryer will take you an hour to dry your hair, its too small and powerless.
