It sucks!

I've been using the hot tool brand flat irons for every. I've had every different kinds, and upgraded as they've evolved. This is by far the worst one. I'm on my third one after only 6 months. Same thing every time, one day, it just decides not to heat up. No dropping, no water damage, no nothing, just out of the blue, it'll stop working. I hate it, And to top it off, I lost the receipt so now I can't send it in for a 4th time to have it replaced. Lovely!
a great little iron!

This iron has a wonderful design and is so easy to use. The plate width is perfect for short-to-medium hair lengths. It heats up quickly, the temperature is adjustable, and it leaves my hair smoothe and shiny.
Does not last

I bought a Hot Tools straightner 6 months ago and it wont heat up anymore. Personally I would go with the Chi straightner, the extra money is worth it.

This straightener is way better than my conair one. it works, and I like how it keeps your hair straightened throughout the day.

I bought this flat iron because i owned other products by this company that work. This however only worked for w few months then would no longer heat up. I exchanged the first one, using the warranty, that one soon wouldnt heat up either. I exchanged the second "Hot Tools 1"" for a third "Hot Tools 1"" because the warranty will not allow for returns, only exchange. The third iron that broke I havent even bothered to exchange, even though the warranty should still be good because it has not been a year since I purchased the first one... this flat iron is basically a piece of poopy if you want to use it more than a few months. But it did work pretty good when it did work.
meh...ive had better!

when i first bought this iron it was okay..but it didnt work that well..when i got the hang of it it got a bit better...but hardly and made my hair straight gbut really thick and frizzy..which did not look good at all..then i started goin to my hairdresser to get it straightened because the hot tools one worked very badly..
a big waste of money imo(in my opinion)

I guess this iron might be good for people who already have fairly straight hair, but if you have curls, this flat iron just doesn't cut it. I put it all the way up to 10 (the highest heat setting), and it felt warm at best. I had to run it two or three times over every chunk of hair and in the end my hair was still wavy. I know there are other brands that produce much smoother and straighter results, it's definitely worth it to splurge an extra $20-$30 for a better flat iron.
beware!

i was so excited on christmas day to see that my friend had gotten me a professional hair straightener! i tried it out right away. it looked like i had better results than the other straightner i had tried. but once our school had gone back into session, i saw tons of other girls with their stick-straight hair and realized that these weren't the results i was looking for.
beware! it may be less expensive but you will NOT like the results! your hair will magically become frizzy and wavy within 15 minutes or less!
Burned out!

I bought this iron and used it probably no more than 2 dozen times during four months and now it just simply does not heat up. It was a complete waste of money because of its poor quality.

i had a hot tools thing bofore and it killed my hair so bad!!! i tried this one and my hair looks so much better!it looks in perfect condidtion. but i have found it work better on shorter, thin hair than on longer thick hair, so consider this before you buy it!
it works !!

i first bought this iron after i got my hair cut shorter and very layered. ive been using it for about 3 months, and it seems to straighten my hair well. howver, the ceramic on the sides is cracking and continuously catches my hair in it, and it is really damaginf my hair. there are so many pieces of my hair that are broken off very short and i have so many more fly-aways than i did beore using this iron. after 3 months i'm giving up on this iron and spending the extra 20-30 dollars for something that works better without damaging my hair.
bad
