DAMAGED MY HAIR BADLY

I bought this (Hot Tools)Iron @ a local salon. It costed me around $54.00. I figured because of it's known name and price it had to be good. I WAS WRONG!!!!! The first couple of times I started to use it my hair was so FLAT! I continued to use it at a low temperature. Weeks went by and my hair is fried and flat ( I had to cut off like 1 1/2 inches off)!!!!!!! I'm spending more money on moisturizing treatment then it was worth. I'm really upset. I stop using it and stared using the walmart the "Remington-Wet 2 Dry" that I used prior to Hot Tools. I recommend noone to buy it. It's helping my hair look healthier....

My daughter tried this brand at camp, and persuaded me that we needed to replace our flat iron with a Hot Tools flat iron. She wore me down - and she was right! This iron straightens her very thick frizzy hair - FAST! (We threw out the old flat iron!)
love it

I bought this flat iron because my more expensive one broke, and I couldn't afford to buy it again. I wish I had just bought it again because it heats unevenly so it burns my hair. I only use it about once per week, and after 3 months the purple coating on the plates started chipping off. I definitely would recommend you spend more money on a better iron.
dont last that long! :[

I got mine about a year and a half ago for xmas, and it is not heating up anymore like it use to! It makes me so mad cuz its suppose to last longer than that! and the purple chips away too. And my moms ((she got hers when she got mine)), died like 6 months ago. I wouldnt recommend this particular straightner to no one. Plus it pulls hairs sometimes. OUCH!
A total joke

So I bought this straightener upon the recomendation of an employee at a beauty store; why did I listen? I was in an emergency because the flat iron I'd had for 4+ years finally gave out on me (it was some $40 ceramic iron I got at Sally's right when flat irons started to become popular). I only had about $60 to spend, so she told me to buy this one. I have frizzy, damaged, overprocessed hair and a flat iron is a necessary tool for me. This iron doesn't heat up to the temperature that it claims to, nor does it keep hair like mine straight for more than 10 minutes. It looks good right after I am done, but literally 15 minutes later it is wavy and frizzy again. I am so mad. I am going to take it back and get a Sedu. Because I use a flat iron everyday I think it's worth it to fork out the cash for something that will work and won't leave me angry and homicidal because of bad hair.
Best Flat Iron Ever!!!!

This flat iron is amazing. It does not pull your hair like most flat irons do and it heat up really quickly. It is by far the best I have ever tried. If you are going to get a flat iron get this one!

I didn't like this particular straightener, because I have very thick hair and i had to keep going over and over my hair to get it to be straight. I do give props to folica.com because i bought it at a beauty store for about thirty bucks more.
really good,

I have to say it was an upgrade to a ghetto ceramic iron from conair...and it seemed better at first.....but having used a CHI before..it was a huge let down..i have thick wavy hair and it still seems frizzy and not at all straight.it takes forever to flatten a smal section.and it was advertised as ceramic...but it's metal plates "coated" with a ceramic -like substance...i can't beleive i paid 150$ for it...mind you two years ago...i have now ordered the solia and am waiting for it to get here...DON'T BUY HOT TOOLS!!!!
pretty good

I've only had the straightener for about a month, but so far so good. I think it does a great job for the price. And I've had the expensive Italian imported straighteners before and they don't last more than a year or two anyway, so why not spend less every year or two, instead of pretending you're making a long term investment with a more expensive straightener.

I bought this iron because my friends told me Hot Tools are the best. I am very disappointed in it. It does not even straighten my bangs and I have straight hair to begin with. I will probably return it.
it's okay...

Well, I'm African American and I usually go to the salon to get my hair chemically straightened. I just wanted something inexpensive to straighten out any frizzies in case of a humid day. This straightener is decent for the money, but I understand when people say that the straightness doesn't last. Hot Tools straightener definitely doesn't make my hair the straightest it can be--and when I wash my hair, it feels kind of crispy before I shampoo it (which freaks me out). Whatever, now that I'm in college and away from my hairdresser, I'm pulling out the bucks for a hardier, more efficient straightener. (I'm waiting for my Sedu as I type this.)
If you already have manageable hair that you have time to take care of, get this straightener. But if your hair is insubordinate and coarse like mine, run away and invest in a different straightener.

i got it one year ago and it worked pretty good. it strightened my hair but it didnt always stay. some times it smelt like it burnt it but other than it wroked well.
untill the other day when i tried to strighten my hair and it jsut broke in half at the hinges. my sister has the same one and hes has started to stop working as well and now heat up or get as hot as it use to, but she does forget to turn it off a lot so it stays on all day.
its okay

My friend recommended for me to buy this straightner so I did. I've had it for about a year now and it works okay. It gets the job done (i have thick medium length hair)and comes out pretty staight but once humidity hits my hair becomes a giant ball of frizz! This straightner is good for temporary use but if you want something to last you a long time, dont buy this one.
Its alright!

Its alright! I just bought this one as an emergency. It doesnt really straighten your hair. I have wavy hair and I have to run thru it like 3xs and in the highest setting just to get it the way I want. I want to get rid of it already!
dissapointed

This straightener does NOT work on my hair. I have naturally curly hair, and it takes 10+ minutes JUST to straighten my bangs; sad i know!! DO NOT BUY IT
