I just returned from an European trip. I bought this dual-voltage item because so many USA models will malfunction in Europe, even with a voltage converter. This model performed perfectly. It was easy to use and required no adjustments. Very pleased.
Love it!

I don't know why it has such a bad review, but I really like it. It works just as well as a Hot Tools one, if not better because of the black tip at the end preventing you from burning your hand. It's easy to hold, and it heats up pretty fast. It also doesn't damage my hair as much as a Hot Tools one.
Tip problem

The tip of the iron ( the black cap) creates a rdge that prevents the hair form slpping of the end of the barrel when you want to remove the iron without undoing the curl you've set. If it did not have this problem it would be terrific.

I was happy with this product for almost a full year. One morning, after I'd finished curling most of my hair it malfunctioned. Overheated and burnt 2 inches of my hair....now stuck on the curling iron.
So, won't be buyin' another one of these.

The handle and cord are too bulky. I thought it would be easier to handle than other curling irons. Not as impressed as I thought I would be.
