You get what you pay for....
Reviewer: Stephanie from Illinois   2009-07-01

I had a Conair straightener as my first flat iron, and I hated it. After a while I asked my mom to buy me a new one. She bought me the Wigo, since she said paying $100.00 for a straightener was just rediculous. I straighten my hair every day, and I have not been impressed. Here are the problems... -takes forever to heat up -smells as it's heating up -leaves creases in your hair -hair goes back to wavy after an hour -ceramic coating wares off -takes me 40 minutes to straighten my hair -snags hair on the sides of the plates I didn't know anything about straighteners before, and after 3 years of putting up with mediocre results, I've decided to buy the $100.00 professional straightener. In retrospect, it would have made more sense to not have wasted my money on the crappy flat irons but investing in something that does a quality job. And, a flat iron truely is an investment. So... if you want a piece of junk that'll give you poor results, buy this iron. If you want good results, invest in a FHI or Chi. It's worth it.

Great straightener

I had this one for years. It made my hair sooo straight and soft I loved it. My sister needed an iron and I gave her mine thinking I would get one just as good at the drug store. None I have tried are the same and now I must go back to the salon where I got the first one.

good

i admit , wigo isn't the best. but its not as bag as everyone's making it seem. i had mine for 4 years and it just broke. i have fine , wavy hair , and the wigo worked excellent. iv had friends with thicker hair use it , and they still have some problems , but it still works pretty well. i recommend this if your not willing to spend big bucks on something else.

disillusioned

I bought this for my daughter (age 14). She only uses it maybe once weekly and one day of the week end. We have had it since May 2008. One of the ceramic plates will not heat up. For the money and the reputation (I had heard it was great!), it did not impress me. Now I am beginning to hear otherwise. Wish I would have known that when I was deciding on which manufacturer to choose. i would not choose this product or this brand again. :(

this is a good flat iron not bad
Reviewer: elizabeth from columbus, ga   2008-10-18

my hair is horribly curly and it straightens it with two strokes to each section of hair. I don't understand all of the negative comments. It IS worth the money and you should try it. Its way better than the CHI thats so hot on the market.
