Product Rating: 1 Dryer shoots sparks out of bottom
Reviewer: Michelle Woolley from Highland Lakes, NJ  Fri Apr 11 2008

I had this dryer, after 8 months it started shooting sparks out of the end where the cord attaches to it. Wigo promptly replaced it and now after 6 months the replacement is shooting sparks out of the end just like the first.
DANGEROUS PRODUCT- DO NOT BUY!

Product Rating: 1 Stopped getting hot after 6 months!
Reviewer: Jessica   Sat Aug 25 2007

This hair dyer does not last nor did it make much difference on my hair. I have wavy hair that can be frizzy. This hair dryer was not much different than a store bought brand. After 6 months of use it would only get warm (not hot). I tred to contact the makers of Wigo but it is impossible to find their information anywhere. DO NOT buy this hair dryer.

Product Rating: 1 Dryer caught on fire and wouldn't turn off...
Reviewer: dthomas from Portland, OR  Tue Jun 19 2007

I had this dryer for a year and a half and one morning it started smoking and the plastic was melting AND it wouldn't turn off. My entire bedroom and bathroom smelled of burnt plastic for days and I had to have it professionally cleaned by a fire clean up crew. I have had very little luck getting an appropriate response from Wigo who only said it was because of lint build-up. In the 30+ years I have been using a hair dryer, I have cleaned lint off of one maybe twice. If such a horrible and dangerous thing can occur from simply not removing lint, the manufacturer's need to be more diligent about warning consumers. I will never purchase a Wigo again!

Product Rating: 2 Wigo-Caught on Fire
Reviewer: Elsie from Ohio  Wed Mar 28 2007

I've had this dryer for two years, I only use it 3-4 times a week. Yesterday morning the inside wiring caught on fire, melted the plastic casing surrounding the cord and sparks and smoke were everywhere, very scary! I've had several hair dryers over the years and nothing this dangerous happened with my cheap $20 hair dryers, I'll stick with them. I did like the dryer, but it was nothing special, not much difference other than the price.

Product Rating: 1 Not worth the money.
Reviewer: Tess   Tue Oct 10 2006

I've had this dryer for 6 months and all of a sudden it only blows out cold air. I've had cheap dryers last me much longer than this one. Also, i didn't see a difference is drying time or making my hair look healthier. Pressing the button several times to get the heat up was also a pain in the butt. I will never buy a Wigo again- complete waste of money.

Product Rating: 4 Not the most user-friendly, but *totally* worth it!!!
Reviewer: Jessica F from L.A., CA  Sun Sep 24 2006

1) Let me start by saying that I agree with many points in the negative reviews.

-This hairdryer IS very heavy. My 53 year old mother has no problem with it, but anyone with weak arms/back or who is older may feel uncomfortable with it.

-The buttons are not normal hairdryer switches. They are actual buttons that you press to accelerate the speed or raise the heat. So instead of just moving up a switch, you have to push and push and push on the buttons 2-4 times.

2) I do have one point I disagree on: my hairdryer does not default back to the lowest settings when it is turned off. I just went and checked. So maybe they have fixed this in newer models?

3) My review: I LOVE this hairdryer. Whenever I would visit my parents, I would use my mom's dryer and notice that my hair was easier to style, shinier, and seemed more healthy. It didn't take me long to realize it was her hairdryer!

This dryer is not very hot. In fact the heat doesn't come even close to my previous dryer (some Revlon drugstore version). This is great for my hair as it keeps it from getting fried and frizzled. And the best thing is that even though it doesn't heat up as hot, it dries my hair faster than ever! So less heat for health and quicker drying time for convenience in life! Sounds good to me!!!

I have used many ionic or ceramic products and they always claim to make your hair healthier but I never really can see true results. With this dryer I felt my hair getting better right away. I highly recommend it and I'm so happy I finally made the purchase!

Product Rating: 5 Finally!! The Perfect Dryer!!
Reviewer: Shonta from Mountain View, CA  Wed Jun 28 2006

Yes, there are so many ceramic ion dryers out there, but this is the only one out there that allows you infinite heat and air speeds! I was wondering when someone would figure it out that having only 2 or 3 settings to choose from is not the best for everyone.

I have damaged my scalp from a bad color job. Heat is not a good thing to apply to it, however I have to blow dry my hair or it just looks like crap. This dryer allows me to set a lukewarm type of setting at a very low speed, which does not irritate my very sensitive scalp!

It's a bit on the heavy side is the only drawback I can see, but it is so worth it. I'd think this would cost as much as the Chi or the T2 that are over $100 as it does the same thing and offers much more versatility, so I'm very greatful that the price is very reasonable for what you get!!

I like the power and the fact you can do a cool blow wirhout holding down the button, it also leaves my
hair shiner and softer.

Product Rating: 5 Best Dryer to Date
Reviewer: Trip   Wed Sep 07 2005

This Dryer is Excellent. It has almost an endless range of temperature and speed settings. The buttons are easy to use, just simply press and hold and the settings change quickly. It dries hair incredibly fast and leaves it very shiny. Do not listen to the complaints about it always starting on medium when it is turned on and off as it is not at all difficult to change the settings to your preference. Lastly this Dryer offers far more features than any other on the market. Also this dryer comes with a 3 year warranty.

Product Rating: 1 bad buttons
Reviewer: Marianne from NY  Sat May 14 2005

I've had this hair dryer for almost two years. It dries my hair great but has a few design flaws that are hard to work around. The buttons are really difficult to push, especially if you have styling products on your hands. The dryer also resets to the lowest setting every time it is turned off and you have to hold down the difficult buttons again every time you want to turn it off and on. When I straight brush my hair I usually leave it running and put it in the sink while brushing out another chunk of hair. The last problem is the led display. I dropped mine a few months ago and the whole display went out. Now I just have to guess if I've pushed the buttons long enough or hard enough to get it to the right setting. I can't tell if the ion setting is on or not becaust that was the only way to see it. It's a great hair dryer, but the high-tech buttons went a little too far.

Product Rating: 1 Heavy piece or junk
Reviewer: Stephanie from Bay Area CA  Sun Apr 24 2005

I bought this as a gift for my Mom from Folica. She couldn't use it because it was too heavy and was hurting her wrists. I decided to keep it and use. It was about 3 months before it starting acting up. First, let me say it is a pain to use even when it is working properly. It is very heavy and every single time you turn it on you have to repeatedly press the "speed" and the "temperature" buttons. (They automatically reset to cool and low which, who dries their hair on cool and low?) I continued to use it in spite of it being a pain because it did dry my hair faster than a standard dryer. Anyway after about 3 months the ionic function stopped working. Then the dryer started turning itself off every ~30 seconds, (even if I kept it at low heat.) This combined with having to reset the speed and the temp everytime it turned itself off was too much for me. I still have it but don't use it any more. I am a fan of Wigo's hot irons but their dryers are not worth their price.

Product Rating: 1 Not worth the money does not last!!!!
Reviewer: J Lyons from San Diego, CA  Sun Jan 23 2005

This hair dryer is the worst dryer I have every purchased! I have only had it for about 6 months and it does not heat up anymore. The air still blows and the controls all still work but there is no heat. I was very conscious about cleaning it. So I cleaned it at least once a week to make sure nothing was accumulating inside using my small vacuum and on the small filter on the outside. When I went to purchase another dryer, I explained to the sales associate who sold me this dryer (wigo) what had happened she explained that she had the same model and the same thing happened to her. Also, she has had other complaints for the same problem. THEY DO NOT LAST and it very heavy!!

Product Rating: 5 digital super fast dryer
Reviewer: Brandon from NYC  Mon Mar 29 2004

this dryer is simply amazing. for someone with long hair it cuts the drying time in half, and at the same time reduces the frizz that many people get from blowdrying. the digital control also is great for ultimate settings, and is perfect for any type of hair. a definate must have! its the hair dryer of the future.

Product Rating: 2 Difficult to use
Reviewer: Michelle from Milan, IN USA  Thu Mar 18 2004

I really liked the way the heat from this dryer felt and I really liked the ionic feature of it, my hair did seem more shiny and the heat not nearly as harsh on it as normal but.....it is incredibly difficult to use. Each time you turn it off it goes back to zero so you have to reset it. That wouldn't be so bad but the touch pad is difficult to use, you must push really hard to get it to work and I always had to take it away from my head and look at the read out to make sure it was on the right setting. There is no "feel" to the buttons so no way of knowing if the touchpad felt your touch or not.

I was just very unhappy with the usability of this product and am returning it.

Product Rating: 1 Bad control design
Reviewer: Female from California  Wed Mar 03 2004

Everytime you turn off the dryer, you lose your settings. Each time you turn on the dryer, you will have to reset 1. Speed 2. Heat level and 3. Ion ON/OFF. This is a hassle! I'm going to return it.
