i bought this product and have high expectations. just tried to use it, following the instructioins that are in the manual. (tweezers were not touching my skin) i have a relativley high tolerence to pain and it hurt.. it hurt bad.
i had it on lowest level, number one for about 35 - 40 seconds (the designated time for level). a white foam appeared - guessing the sodium hydroxide stuff but the hair remained in place and in addition to that a dark red mark and smallish indent around the hair.... I can't find any information as to when you know the hair has been destroyed
the following information is from the manual that comes with product - it is illusive on any site that sells the product 'if skin ..excesively.... scabs then treatment is too high... (however one is the lowest setting..???)
I'm not convinced at all

I have not tried in-office electrolysis so I can not compare it to that and I thought the on-line reviews were very helpful when I made the decision to try this product. Everyone is right when they say it takes time. I don't have a lot of time so I am just doing one "patch" of hair at a time and then when I find more time I do another patch. It is not hard to use, just put the pad near the spot you want to work on, plug in the tweezers and foot pump, rub the gel on and test the settings. I have a high pain tolerance so the highest setting was no problem and did not hurt at all, but then again I am someone who tweezes quite a bit. As other people have suggested, grasp the hair you are targeting, pull out a little, push the foot pump for the charge and hold until the hair gently comes out. It does seem the hairs I was able to hold and see a charge on the meter were successfully elimiated forever. It seems easier then going to an appointment and having someone else perform the procedure especially in some of the more embarrassing places. I say for $200 it is worth it and with some persistence the entire area you want will be hair free forever. Good luck!
It works

This machine took a while for me to get the hang of. It's professional machine so it's a bit tricky and takes practice. I'm very pleased with the results and would highly recommend it.
Definitely hard to use - but works

The Vector is difficult to use and takes some time getting used to it. But without question it is the only machine that actually works. So in this case the good outweighs the bad. If you have ever used the Igia or any of the other battery powered machines like the e-pen, you know that they don't work at all. Well the Vector does exactly what it says, the hair does not grow back. So it is probably worth the hassle for some people.

takes a long time to get it to work. Not worth the purchase. 45 min. with a professional electrologist only costed about $67. Make the right choice. Go to a professional.
This works great!!

I can not for the life of me figure out why anyone would not rate this machine great. I think maybe those bad reviews do not know the proper way
to use the machine. It works superior to any other thing on the market. I have tried them all. This truly is a great hair removal system. So sorry for those who did not like it.

I have to admit that at the beginning it was kind of hard to use the Vector system, but is worth to buy it. I've been using it for the last two months and the results are amazing. Great purchase.
Too much work!

The pain is tolerable. But it is way too much work to remove hair. Thousands of individual hairs that take 30 seconds each to eliminate. Plus, it may not take the first time. The gel and tweezers idea makes it seem very user friendly, but I found it really tough to get everything in exactly the right position to get the current to flow. Got tired after a couple of hours of making very little progress.

I, like many women, have developed an unfeminine hair or two, as I have aged. I have tried all other removal devices, available, without success, over the years.
This instrument, actually works. I will advise, that there is, risk of injury. This is a clinical instrument. It requires a bit if patience, and considerable care, not to be tempted, to "Turn up," the dial, as you will, damage, your skin. So, if you are shy, and do not wish to go to a salon, and have patience, this instrument, will do, exactly, as promised.

I've read up on electrolysis a bit, and what matters is:
a) It should use a NEEDLE not tweezers. Hair isn't a good conductor of electricity. You might not like needles, but sorry, that's all that works.
b) Make sure you're getting proper galvanic electrolysis (which you are with this one), not some crappy radiowave thing.
c) Perfect your technique - make sure you go in at the correct angle etc.
dont waste ur money

I think that many people who get excited about the Vector think that with just effortless use it will make them hair-free overnight. This is not the case. It does require quite a bit of patience and practice to make it work properly, but when used that way it certainly does work, which is more then what can be said about any other hair removal machine. Basically, this procedure is identical electrolysis, and for those of you who don't know, it is a tedious procedure where each hair is removed individually, one at a time.
One thing in particular that is essential in obtaining good results is making sure that you keep the tweezers as close as possible to the skin without touching the skin. The way I was able to achieve that is grasping the hair so that the tips of the tweezers are touching the skin and then by tugging on the hair slightly creating some distance. Then when you press the foot pedal, the current will flow into the hair follicle where it needs to go to destroy the root.
I would say that over-all its a well made and well thought out product that does what it claims.
The only one that works

I have used many hair removal devices over the years and unfortunately none of them work. Enter the Vector. After being frustrated with all the other devices, the Vector actually achieves permanent removal of hair. I was getting treatments in the salon for 5 years and I am very familiar with electrolysis, the Vector is the only machine that works the same way as the machines used in the salon. Even though it takes some skill and practice to use the Vector properly, I have to say that I am very pleased with the results over all.
Don't waste your money with the other machines, they do not work.

THIS ITEM IS WELL WORTH IT. IT IS IDENTICAL TO WHAT THE PROFESSIONAL USE IN STRENGTH AND QUALITY. I'VE TRIED MANY OTHER TREATMENTS AND JUST ENDED UP WASTING $$ AND TIME. THIS PRODUCT DOES WORK! HOWEVER, YOU WILL HAVE TO BE PATIENT. I NOTICED THAT HAIR WAS SLOW TO GROW BACK WITHIN THE FIRST WEEK OF USE. IT WILL TAKE SOME TIME FOR THE REMOVAL OF HAIR TO BE PERMANENT BECAUSE HAIR GROWS IN CYCLES. BESIDES, THINK OF HOW LONG YOU'VE BEEN TENDING TO THE SAME PROBLEM. YOU WILL HAVE TO INVEST SOME OF YOUR TIME TO GET RID OF THE PROBLEM. BUT IF YOU ARE GOING TO BE REMOVING HAIR ANY WAY, YOU MIGHT WANT TO GIVE THIS ITEM A TRY. WITH EACH USE, I SEE LESS AND LESS HAIR TO REMOVE.THE INSTRUCTIONS LEAVE OUT IMPORTANT DETAILS SUCH AS HOW IMPORTANT IT IS TO USE THE SOLUTION GEL THAT COMES WITH THE UNIT. THE PRODCUT DOES TAKE SOME TIME TO GET USED TO, SO MAKE IT A PRACTICE TO USE IT WHEN YOU HAVE SOME TIME AND DO NOT RUSH.

I purchased this product, but returned it soon after because it is extremely difficult to use and I can't say it was that successful. If you have lots of time, a very high pain tolerance, or a friend who will administer treatment for you, then go for it. Otherwise, it's too hard to use.
AMAZING!

I never really believed in any product that claimed complete removal of hair that would be permanent but after trying the Vector at my girlfriends house i was amazed - my hair simply did not grow back... good product...
