Once the iron is hot enough to use, do your roots before the plastic heat up.
If you do it right, you'll be able to actually lay the plastic edge of the iron on your scalp without burning it, and get to the very root of your hair so you can straighten the whole thing.
Curls submitted by: Nikki, Thu Apr 10 2008

I curl my bangs with this whenever I wear my hair curly, or sometimes when I want tighter curls I'll use it on my whole head. Otherwise I use my Sedu iron to straighten/curl the long parts.
With this iron I start at the root of my head and I get a section of my hair in between the plates, then turn the iron about half-way around (whichever direction you turn is where your ends will face) and just pull it through like normal and I get a nice bouncy spiral curl.

I suggest when you get this to start at the top of your head not the bottom.
