ok i have shor choppy layers and with this you only do need a little bit today i use it cause my hari was looking really dull and so i today i though i'll add a little MORE I DID WAY TO MUCH BUT I WAS all good but you only need a tad bit!!! think i want more bed head products really good and very light weight.

I have used this on long hair to separate layers, and on short hair to spike/style. I use very little each time, one bottle lasts about 6 months. One of the best products on the market.
Can't live without this.

i absolutely love this product. been using it for more than 8 years. I have thinning coarse hair. I keep it cut short and spiky. i love my style and this product keeps me looking great all day long. Don't use too much, and if you don't wash it daily, just dampen your hands and run through your hair to reactivate and avoid buildup. Wonderful product. I even had to go buy some when I went on a business trip and forgot it. The stylist was out but gave me hers as she had one that was nearly empty. Like I said, can't live without it.

This stuff is gooey n sticky and not for african american at all it took so much for me to spread it through my hair.

I'm always doing something different with my hair- I started out with it all the way down my lower back, cut it to my earlobes, and now it's about at my chin. It's been conservative, extreme, you name it. I've been using manipulator through it all- almost 5 years. It's been a god-send. The "goop" can do wonders for all hair lengths/cuts as long as you adjust how much you use. I dab what is on the lid with my fingertips and gradually apply more and more until I get the desired effect. This, as with any product, will make your hair look nasty if you use way too much- as will any other beauty product. Use common sense and you'll be more than pleased!

My hair stylist recommended this to "separate" my shoulder length hair into long pieces. It worked when she did it, but since, I have not been able to replicate the effect. When I use it, it just makes my hair look greasy.
It CAN be done, but if you're not a professional hair stylist, good luck.
Oh, it smells great though.
Not that great for baby hair/flyaways

I have long, layered ASIAN hair. I have a bunch of baby hair/flyaway hair at the top of my head and where my bangs are. I wanted to get it controlled without having to use hairspray or other products that would leave my hair "crunchy." Heard about this stuff. Bought it and used it for a couple of weeks. HATE IT! It leaves my hair looking dirty and greasy. Plus, it "tamed" the flyaway for a good 15 minutes before it goes back to crazy flyaway. This is better for people with really short hair or minimal flyaway.

A couple years ago I cut my hair pretty short, and my hairstylist (who is also my aunt) suggested this to me! OH MY GOSH! I love it. I bought the small size and it lasted me like two years, because it just takes a little bit. And the smell I LOVE!! My hair is longer now but it still works good to give a little lift (rub it into your fingers and massage into your roots and then lift your roots) and also to smooth down my side bangs! Definitely would recommend to anyone and everyone!

I have mid-length hair with extreme layers, after I flat iron and i use this and peice up my hair to give it texture. Although this doesn't harden as someone suggested here, it's really pliable/remoldable even after a couple of hours after initial use. When it's summer I love to just run this trough my hair for beach waves. Plus this stuff smells sooo good. I've been using this for quite awhile now, expecially over the summer. Manipulator, on the down side, is messy (but you could always just wash your hands)I love this stuff.

This putty works OK. I get up in the morning for school, and my hair looks like a bouffant without product in my hair. So I tried this Manipulator putty, and think its a little mediocre. First of all, it smells horendous. It's scented with this cheap coconut aroma, and it totally makes me sick. Trust me, you DON'T want to be putting slutty smelling crap in your hair at 7:00 every morning. It also clumps up in your hair, which looks like you have blue gum wads all over your head. I had to mix it with water to make it relativly usable. But besides its maloderous stench and annoying clusters of cerulean stuck in your hair, it works like an average clay and gives average results, nothing more.

first if all im asian so if your not you probably wouldnt understand asian hair...lol...its super straight stuper thick and super heavy so its hard to get a good product that can give you the natural look. (not all greasy n hard like gel) The manupulator works wonders just make sure you dont use alot or like what the others said it gets way greasy. I found that just take a little and rub it in ur hands then work it threw your hair and it shows off the layers n gives your hair a really good texturized look. If you look at any of the asian guys hairstyles its really feathered n textured and this product was the best thing i found that gives good hold n just really works good with my hair definatly recommended for any1 with short layers or really textured hair!
Definitely a great product!

I'm a guy and I have short-medium, thin hair. This product provides excellent hold and texuture, and is the best product I've found yet in comparison to retail store products. Other reviewers are right, try not to use too much or your hair will turn greasy. One con that I have about the product is the somewhat overwhelming vanilla scent it gives off. I guess it's another reason why you should use it sparingly.

The texture is super-goopy, and the product has just the right amount of "stick" that you want to given defition for short hair.
It only takes a teeny bit because otherwise it will create a greasy look.
Also, this product is not a good product for longer hair.

I have unltra-short hair that, if I'm not careful, can make me feel very boyish. When I use this product, I feel very stylish, and sexy... wonderful product for texturizing and really bringing out my cut. It does seem little pricey for the small container, but it lasts forever. Only a very little bit needs to be used, otherwise, hair can end up very greasy looking. Delicious smell! I wouldn't recommend it for anyone with longer hair than the pixie cut.
