I have thick curly hair. My friend has this iron and I used it once. It is a wet/dry straightner but I prefer to let my hair dry naturally. I used it when my hair was dry and it cut my straightening time in half. I still think there is a better iron out there somewhere, though.

Works great - helps save time by eliminating the blowdry process. Small 1/2 inch sections give better results. Does not get to hot against the scalp.
This product does what it says!

I love my Tourmaline 3. I have fine, wavy, thick hair.
Nothing has ever straightened my hair like this does.
Even from wet to dry. I would highly recommend it to my
friends!

Washing and straightening my hair used to be a two hour process. I hated it so much that I would wash it, let it air dry, then flat iron it out the next day. Needless to say, with this flat iron it can be done in a half hour...I rationalize like this...once a week at a salon - wash and blow dry = $20. I have had my iron for 7 months now and it works as well as the first time and has definitely paid for itself. I am mixed and have hair that turns into ringlets when wet. I also have a relaxer. This product is amazing and saves me so much time!
Compaired to the CHI

First off, I read a few of the other reviews and was like. "Uhh right. These people don't know much about hair.."
If you have curly hair, and want it straight you are going to have to at least semi pre-blow-dry it straight as sucky as that sounds before using ANY iron. So really this iron is not for you seeing as the feature is "Wet to Dry".
For me however it's quite perfect from the sounds of it. My hair is kinky, not stright or curly.. A little wavy here and there and just weird and flippy. I can get away with using it on wet hair and have a nice dry straight style.
I'm used to using the CHI which I LOVE to death, AMAZING iron. Today this one was shipped to the salon and I gave it a try. Keep in mind my hair wasn't all that wet when I used it. Damp in a few spots. So i'm not 100% sure about that part. But I actually found it to smooth my hair out a bit better, the end result wasn't as staticy like it is sometimes with the CHI.
If I had to choose between the two i'd probably choose the CHI just because I like the size of it and if you know the technique, you can also curl and such with it.
Either way seems like a good iron. If I didn't have the CHI first, I'd love it.

Purchased the T3 flat iron , I heard it was better than the Sedu flat iron, WRONG! With the Sedu flattens hair only one time the T3 takes several times flatting the same piece of hair, does not leave hair looking natural. For 145.00 the T3 is not worth the money
Worked As Advertised But Not Ideal

I was motivated to purchase this product because I was in desperate need for a flat iron and it was one of InStyle magazine's top product picks for 2006. Although the product worked as it said, it was not ideal for my lifestyle or my hair type (fine and wavy). First, it is best used in small sections of hair. However, I don't have the luxury of time in the morning. Second, my hair got caught often in the seams of the plates. I don't have much hair to loose so I would prefer not to see it go unnecessarily.
Worked great at first.!

I purchased the wet-dry flat iron and thought it was amazing at first. After about 1 month it completely stopped working. I purchased it through Sephora so was able to return it. I thought I had a defective flat iron so I exchanged it for a new one. Well, my second one broke within 2 weeks! The exact same thing happened to a friend of mine. She is currently on her third.

I have thick, curly and colored hair and have been using the CHI for two years to straighten. My CHI was going off periodically and knew I had to buy a new one and was researching flat irons on the web. Found out about the T3 and was curious. My hairdresser had never heard of it and was very skeptical. I bought it online and took it to her for her to use on my hair and she was amazed. Usually she had to dry my thick hair on a round brush and then straighten it with a flat iron. This T3 was amazing! We dried the roots and a little all around the hair and then in small sections used the iron. It sizzled but we knew that was supposed to happen. It took a couple of times to run it through each section, but VOILA! My hair was silky and soft and stayed that way for 3 days. My question is why don't more people know about this product? I am telling all my friends!
Don't listen to the sour grapes!

I have naturally curly/frizzy hair and this has been a wonderful tool. I find that it really does take my hair from wet to dry (you'll have to play w/ the temp. to see what works for you) and delivers straight, shiny hair. I also was delighted to find that on a humid day, my hair did not frizz and wave up like when I used a regular ceramic iron.
If you use this tool properly (not trying to staighten too large of sections of hair at one time) you will have healthy, shiny, STRAIGHT (yeah!) hair!
This iron is AMAZING!!

I have human hair extensions like Jessica Simpson, that looked great when I left the salon. When I tried washing my hair and styling it myself, it was a frizzy disgusting mess. I tried using the curling irons and flat irons i had at home, but they did nothing except make my hair look even more dry and overprocessed and frizzy. So I bought this iron. I came home, ran the iron through my hair, and after only 5 MINUTES, my entire head was done - silky smoothe, shiney, GORGEOUS - my hair looks like Demi Moore's!! I am in SHOCK! I cannot believe the transformation. This product is UNBELIEVABLE!!

I love this flat iron. It works great on my hair and doesn't harm it like others have done in the past. I use mine daily and have had sign of hair breakage. Please note: that while it is a wet/dry iron, that it should be used on dry hair for best results.

My hair is very curly coarse and thick. This flatiron is okay on dry hair (my CHI works better tho). I bought it assuming that it would work better than the CHI that I had previously bought a few years ago. I was wrong. It does NOT do a good job on wet hair, the hair sizzles and DOES get caught between the plates. It left my hair looking very dry and wet. If I could, I would return it.

I paid $140 for the Wet-or-Dry flat iron. I was so disappointed with it that I returned it the day I bought it. I tried it on wet hair, it didn't do anything. I tried it on my damp hair, and I saw some straightening effect. The problem is, your hair is still left wet. So then I had to blow dry my hair and try to re-straighten it. I strongly think a traditional ceramic flat iron does the job much better.

I am a stylist, but if I weren't and read the directions on this AMAZING product it would be well worth the $200. Two runs over a 3 inch wide section (so it doesnt get caught!) is all it takes on my towel dried ONLY clients. I am saving 20 min to 1/2 hr on each client I straighten, and sparing my arms and shoulders. It IS wet to dry if you section the hair and go over each section 2X. My own curly hair normally takes 30-40 min, but only 10 with the T3!
