Not impressed with the design, but it works great!

Was torn between this iron at $170 (includes tax. EEK) from Sephora and the Helix Silver Nano (http://www.folica.com/Hot_Tools_Helix_d3054.html) from Ulta at only $100 (includes tax).
I love everything about the design of the Helix but that's about it. When I compared the two irons side by side (I literally ironed half of my head with each iron) the difference was very noticeable.
The T3 left my hair significantly shinier and smoother. The thermostat on the Helix goes higher, but I swear the T3 got hotter. Definitely use a heat protectant on your hair because my hair was super hot after using the T3 but it looked amazing. Fortunately I found this iron on Ebay at a fraction of the price, so I'll be returning both and buying it there. Overall though, the T3 beat the Helix into the ground.
One point to note for all the people that complained about frizz or time it took them.. I am speaking personally, but if I want good results, I have to take my time and run the iron through twice. The first time get's the initial frizz out. Then once the hair cools, run it through again. This drastically improves the results. Give it a try!

I should have done my research before asking for this product as a Christmas present because it's not the best flat iron
- It snags
- The light that is supposed to tell you when the iron is ready doesn't work correctly
- Makes my hair really, really dry
- works just as good as a cheap conair flat iron from walmart
I have EXTREMELY THICK hair that has been chemically relaxed and colored and the money was not worth it
I feel bad for my grandpa who got it for me. By the reviews, I wish I had asked for a Sedu
Does a great job!!

I have VERY curly hair and also a victoria beckham style hair cut...I know, not the best combo. Anways, with that being said it is important for me to get my hair as straight as possible. I've been through many different flat irons, hot tools, chi, etc. and I must say this one makes a WORLD of difference...It doesn't even compare to previous irons that I have used. For those of you who say that this product didn't work for you, I'm not trying to say that you are wrong, but perhaps you need to try doing smaller sections of hair at a time as well as running the iron through your hair slower. Like I said I have VERY curly, and once dry FRIZZY hair, and after I'm done using this product it looks like a completely different head of hair. My hair usually looks the best after the second time I completely go through it with the flat iron. Also, T3 makes a flat iron gel that I would HIGHLY recommend...I can't remember what it's called but it's GREAT!!!
Love it!

I agree with one of the earlier reviews... the people leaving bad reviews probably don't use this product correctly!
I've had this flat iron for 2 years now and it's still in perfect condition! Before I owned this, it was impossible for my wavy hair to be perfectly straight. The Chi didn't work for me and friends that have the Chi wanted my T3 after trying it out.
My hair is still healthy and shiny even after straightening my hair regularly with this for 2 years. I don't even use product most of the time because I hate having gunk in my hair. It did snag my hair but that happened when I would rush while straightening and it would only be like a strand of hair.

This straightener has totally ruined my hair. Maybe I should have used a heat protectant, but none the less my hair feels dry and fragile. It takes forever to straighten my hair when using this. I paid $160 and it's a total waste of money. At first I was in love but there really better straighteners out there. This takes me soooo long to straighten, even if I have it on high heat. If you're looking for a good flat iron I would try GHD or SEDU, i've heard great things about these. I would never waste my money on another T3 product ever again.

I have wavy hair and the medium duality T3 makes my hair shiny and smooth. My hair is color treated and I haven't seen any damage to my hair like other flat irons I have used in the past.
doesn't work any better than hot tools!

I first bought the t3 wet-or-dry and it made my hair super frizzy, (when my old hot tools one got rid of the frizz) . So I returned for this one and it's so cheaply made. The plastic that the handle is made out of seems even cheaper than the hot tools. PLus it works just the same as any $40 straightener. I have thin hair that's barely wavy.. that's why I'm so disappointed. If my hair was coarse or something, maybe this would be understandable, but no. Glad I bought it at Sephora, so I don't have to deal with shipping it back. I'm gonna order a Sedu instead. Tried it at my friend's house and it works much better. Trust me!

The T3 is fantastic, the problem why people dont like it because they don't know HOW to use it properly- try using it exceptionally slowly, and not on a very thick piece of hair, i promise your hair will be slick after only going over it once- the trick is to have patience.
I always receive compliments for my hair after styling it with the T3. and beats anything else on the market

I purchased this T3 iron with really high hopes. I have very wavy/curly/thick hair. There's a Sephora right by my work so I went there during lunch one day to purchase and invest in what I thought would be a great product. For what it cost, it's below average. It really DRIED out my hair and does NOT straigten leaving a sikly smooth finish. Instead, hair is dry and unhealthy. So now I'm back to going to my salon to get my hair straightened and blow dried every week. What a waste of money:(I'm still on the quest for finding the perfect iron for my hair. This was definately not it.

After using the Chi for 3 years I felt that it was time for an upgrade. I loved my Chi but was getting annoyed that it was taking me more than 10 minutes (from 7 minutes) to straighten my tough-to-straighten hair. I bought the T3 Medium Duality and my first impression was that it felt incredibly cheap. Secondly, it took over 20 minutes to flatiron my hair -- and it still wasn't sleek! After trying it for 2 weeks I gave up and exchanged it for a ghd and haven't looked back since.
Loved it while it lasted...

I had the T3 for over two years and I loved it! I was able to easily curl the ends under or flip them out, and it left my hair considerably smoother. However I was VERY upset when I took it to Hong Kong and it fried, probably due to the voltage difference. I suppose this wasn't a fault with the product though, although I'm not certain...
why no directions?

My only complaint about this product is that there were no instructions at all. I have never used one of these, and it would have been nice to have some guide to use when it came to setting the temperature, even turning it on. I wasn't sure at first which light signal tells me it's reached the set temperature.
It's frustrating to pay $140 for a potentially dangerous styling tool and get no instructions.

The T3 Duality is the best flat iron on the market! I had a Chi and it broke (a ceramic plate fell out) after about 18 months. I tried the Sedu, I liked it and it was much better than the Chi, but the T3 is actually even better than the Sedu! This flat iron seems to cause a minimal amount of heat damage to my hair while making my nappy-headed self look like I have straight and shiny hair. I highly recommend spending the extra money for the T3 on www.folica.com!

I'm a guy with somewhat long hair and I haven't used many flat irons on my hair, well actually this is the only flat iron I've ever used on my hair, haha =P but anyway, I love this flat iron .. a lot! I honestly don't know what I'd do if I didn't have it, I'd probably die. It makes my hair soo PRETTY! & insanely soft, smooth, shiny and really REALLY straight =) I've had this for like more than a year now and it's never broken on me, I've even dropped it multiple times too and it still works perfectly =) I LOVE it! I think it was worth the money I spent on it, I bought it in Sephora, so if it ever breaks on me I just have to show them my receipt and they'll just give me a new one =) that's why I love Sephora, they have like a lifetime warranty on all their products! I just have to suggest to you, if you use this flat iron you MUST take good care of your hair! Just like with all heat styling tools, you must take care of you hair or else it'll get dry and nasty. I use really good shampoos, conditioners, deep conditioners and styling products and I always apply a heat protectant on my hair before I flat iron it to save it from some damage. For my shampoo, conditioner & deep conditioner I use the Frederic Fekkai Protein RX Line, which is amazing for your hair, and is what saves my hair from flat ironing it every other day =)
I just absolutely love this flat iron, I'm Asian and I don't have the typical "perfect Asian hair" the stick-straight, super shiny & soft .. but with the use of this flat iron, I get that "perfect Asian hair" =) my friends always get jealous of me because of my hair, they always say "Oh my god, I want your hair, it's soo pretty!" I just tell them it's 'cause of my flat iron, it makes my hair amazing! If you don't believe me then just look at my pics =)

I am a stylist and this was one of the mist horrible flat irons I have worked with. It worked alright the little time it did work. The problem I had was that it only worked for about 6mo. I would definatley suggest a CHI instead, don't waste your time with this brand!!!!
I like this better than my Chi iron

I saw a review of this product and wanted to try it. I like it much better than my CHI iron. The T3 seems to provide a smoother, shinier finish. And, since it has a temperature contral, I can get it hot enough to straighten my hair with one swipe, not 2 or 3 like with the CHI.
Ok...

I've had this straightener for quite a while, but I've found that my CHI has always worked better. I really don't think this straightener is that great. I have slightly wavy hair, and when I use the T3, it doesn't stay straight all day. GET A CHI!!!
Love it
