Product Rating: 3 customer service rocks!!!
Reviewer: Jenn B   Thu Jun 12 2008

Where I would have agree that the travel dryer did not hold up as long as one would think a 130 dollar dryer would, when I contacted customer service after using the dryer for a year I was pleasantly surprised when I did not have to mail the broken one in and because they were so sorry about my experience they upgraded my dryer to the featherweight and sent me some products. I loved the dryer, I just wanted the travel version to last a bit longer. But really the customer service was quick to e-mail me back and dedicated to doing the right thing. I would buy another dryer from them just because of this situation. I wonder if others tried e-mailing customer service as this was the route I used.

Add me to the list of frustrated T3 customers. I love the larger dryer, but the travel dryer lasted 1 trip. It broke in non-abused carry-on luggage! Too fragile for me. My loss.

Product Rating: 3 Not worth the money spent.

Poorly constructed. Overly Priced. Will not purchase again. On the plus side, it did leave my hair soft and quite silky, but not $130 worth of silkiness.

Product Rating: 1 Never Again...
Reviewer: Anonymous from Lake Oswego, Oregon  Tue Feb 19 2008

I have a busy travel schedule and purchased this dryer to take along with me. Well, the very first time I turned it on, it failed. I heard a loud popping, crackling sound (my husband came running in from the other room in our hotel suite to see what happened and find out if I was okay). Then, the dryer emitted a little puff of smoke and an acrid, burning smell filled the air. After that, the dryer stopped working.

I cautiously tried turning it on again (with my husband protesting loudly and telling me to throw it in the trash). In retrospect, I admit that I probably shouldn't have tried turning the dryer on again, but I just couldn't believe that $100+ had gone up in smoke the very first time I tried to use it. Well, the dryer wouldn't turn on again (which was probably a good thing) and that was that. I could not return it from where I bought it (I didn't buy it through Folica, but will now only buy through Folica because of their excellent return policy). I tried to have it repaired by the manufacturer, but never received a satisfactory resolution.

I will never buy another T3 product again. I was not only disappointed with the dryer's failure and manufacturer's response, but was also extremely resentful about losing $100+ on it. I strongly advise against buying this dryer. But if you must have it, be sure to buy it from somewhere like Follica with a fair return policy...since I have a feeling you might be returning it shortly after you buy it.

Received this as a gift after reading it was highly rated by several magazines. Should have checked online opinions before asking for one!! Used it for 3.5 weeks until acrid smoke poured out the end one morning. The motor/fan just seized and that was it. It does have a four year warranty, however, you must return to the company at your own expense and include $14.95 for shipping & handling. The process takes 3+ weeks from the time they receive the dryer until you get a replacement. Their customer service is non-responsive, bordering on rude. I won't make the mistake of purchasing another of their products!

I recently purchased a T3 overnight hairdryer. It does as good a job as the large size which I also have. It dries your hair in less time and with less damage than others I have tried. It really is worth the money and does what it says it will. The size is also excellent for packing in luggage.

Product Rating: 1 Do I dare try a third one?!
Reviewer: DJ   Tue Dec 04 2007

Love it when it works...

I agree with everyone here - my second travel dryer just broke this morning! The first one broke after a year, Sephora was awesome about exchanging it for the current one, which lasted only about 2 months. What the heck?! Do I dare try a third, upgrade to the $200 one, or try to get Sephora to give me my money back? There's NO WAY that I'm dealing with T3's crappy customer service...

Product Rating: 1 Fan breaks
Reviewer: PF from PA  Sat Oct 27 2007

I bought one of these at Sephora and after four uses, the fan blade broke for no reason. I liked how the dryer dried my hair quickly, and made the mistake of buying another. You guessed it - after only about a month, the same thing happened with the fan blade. At least Sephora was great about taking back the last one -- but I'm never buying another one.

Product Rating: 1 On/Off Switch Burned Up
Reviewer: Gretchen from Houston, TX  Mon Oct 22 2007

My T3 hair dryer lasted almost 2 years. Then this weekend it shut off and will not come back on. The on/off switch burned up and will not move. Mine was purchased from Sephora and I expected a lot more than 2 years out it.

Product Rating: 1 Loved it while it worked

Loved it - while it worked. Have had it about 3 months & yesterday apparently the screw holding the fan in place fell out. So guess it is trash. Have never traveled with it. It was a gift - have no idea where purchased.

Product Rating: 1 Broke 4 times
Reviewer: Tammy Murphy from Riverview, FL  Mon Oct 15 2007

I have had the same issue. It's suppose to be a travel dryer. So you should be able to throw the dryer in your gym bag, suitcase and go. No, if it bounces 2 much I feel the inside fan blade comes loose and you can't put it back on at all. I bought my from Sephora and at $130 I feel it should work likea a charm. It dries my hair in half the time, I have curly hair so I use the diffuser and my hair looks great. The manager at Sephora told me to call the company with the warranty information next time. We will see how long it lasts this time. I've went through 4 dryers in 8 weeks no kidding. That's ridiculous.

Product Rating: 3 OK
Reviewer: Kelly from Maryland  Sun Sep 30 2007

I'm lucky that I haven't had any problems with this breaking. I travel with it about once a month and while it's definitely better than any hotel dryer, it's not nearly as good as the full size t3 tourmaline dryer. It takes a long time for my medium/long hair to dry with this and I have more fly aways than when I use my full size t3.
Overall, it's nothing special, but it gets the job done, eventually.

This hairdryer broke the first time I plugged it in, so I immediately took it back to Ulta where I purchased it and exchanged it for a new one. The replacement dryer lasted exactly one week. Each of the dryers had some piece break inside while I was using it, which promptly caused the dryer to stop blowing air. Not going for "third times a charm". I bought a Chi instead.

I travel extensively throughout Europe and Asia for both work and pleasure and needed a dual voltage hair dryer and this was a replacement hair dryer for my last dryer that "bit the dust". I have long curly hair and this dryer has been perfect - it doesn't make my hair frizzy or feel dried out. I love it!

Product Rating: 1 I exchanged this 4 times and it still broke!!!
Reviewer: mariah from florida  Tue Jul 17 2007

I cannot believe this! This drier is actually good when it works. I bought mine 6 months ago at Sephora and it broke after one month. It made like a grinding sound like the fan or something inside the motor broke in pieces. I exchanged it for another one at Sephora (which has a great return policy). And it did the same after 2 weeks. I exchanged it 4 times in six months because I really liked it when it actually worked. But after the 4th broke I decided to get my money back. Sephora told me to register it at T3 because it's under warranty when something is wrong with it. But I was thinking that's too much of a hassle, plus you're without a drier for weeks before they send you a new one. And I'm the one that's spending $130 for it. I'm gonna order the Sedu now and see how that works. I still can't believe it...

I've been using the T3 overnight travel dryer for about a month now. It is a small, lightweight, quiet dryer that is still powerful enough to get the job done. However, I haven't noticed a very drastic improvement to the quality of my hair compared to my old dryer. Overall it is a good solid product though may not be worth the high pricetag.

I bought this hairdryer, it was okay and i kept on using it. First few months, i saw somewhat of a diffence. 8 months, the burnt out and now im without a hairdryer and $150 dollars. Dont fall for the hype, not worth it at all.

Product Rating: 1 Great when it worked!

I love this expensive hair dryer - but I had 3 break in one year - so I have to give it a BAD rating! The first one had a handle that just broke off (just like other reviewer). The second one quit working on high. The third broke this morning - it made a clunk and the motor slowed down considerably. I turned it off and back on and it started smoking. The warranty replaced the second broken one but they must have sent a rebuilt one because it never was very hot. When I wrote to ask about this, they never responded. This is too bad because the 1200 watts and the light weight make it perfect for me ... but the unreliability can not be ignored. The more people I talk to - the more horror stories I hear about T3's customer service and product reliability. BUYER BEWARE!

Product Rating: 3 Fabulous for travel....BUT
Reviewer: cms from Dallas, TX and NYC  Tue Apr 10 2007

I bought this hair dryer over a year ago because I travel A LOT. Hair dryers in the hotel rooms (I don't care if you are at a Holiday Inn or the Four Seasons) are horrible to your hair. Since I travel about 4-5 times per week, I wanted something that would be good to my hair. I was very happy with it - it is small (the handle twists and folds into a compact bundle) it is EXTREMELY lightweight, (the cord's plug-in weighs more than the dryer itself-no joke) and dries my hair quickly and efficiently.

So, why only three stars? First of all, if you are paying over $100 for a hair dryer, wouldn't you expect it to have a cool down button? This one doesn't. Secondly, it did not come with a travel pouch - it IS a travel product, after all. Luckily I had one from another (cheap) hair dryer, so I placed it in the one I already owned. Number 3, the handle broke less than a year from my purchase! Just broke off, dangling from the inner wiring.

Fortunately I bought the T3 from my hairdresser and he guaranteed it. So, I brought it back to him, he got in touch with the rep and filled me in.....Seem's the company (T3, not the rep's company) has bad customer service when it comes to returns. He got the run around big time, but he finally got a new one to replace my broken one almost TWO MONTHS after he gave it to the rep. Okay here is the clincher and by the way, what is making me fume right now as I write this. I went to the website to register my dryer for the warranty - the website they state on the literature inside the box. I went to http://www.t3tourmaline.com/warranty and all I got was a website that had nothing but links to purchase various products - there was nothing to register anything! They must have changed this, because I was able to register my first T3 dryer just fine. The literature states you must register your product within 21 days of purchase. Yeah, right.

I am still very happy with the overall product - when it works! However, if you are considering this purchase, I would definitely make sure you can return/exchange it if something goes wrong within the stated guarantee, which is 48 months. I would also get some kind of a travel pouch to protect the finish of the dryer.

I would think since you are buying a high end product, the company would honor it's stated guarantee, and not give you the run around.
