Best home wax I have ever used

I have tried others and this one actually worked for me. It does harden up quickly, so the key is doing small areas at a time. I did about 2x2 incvh areas and it worked great. I got the brazilian formula and used the oil supplied (left it on for a few minutes while I heated up the wax) and I didn't have any problems getting the wax off yet it did take all the hair as well. I really like this stuff and I will definitely use it again.
Oh, and yeah, it's painful (duh!), and I did have some bleeding, but I always get that when I wax (either myself or at the salon) so it doesn't faze me.
Recommend!!

I was very hesitant about the new formula...but now I FREAKING CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT IT!!! The trick is to really know how to use it correctly. The oil is the KEY. You are a huge sticky mess without it and for some reason it only comes with the brazilian wax. I have very coarse hair and this product is the perfect thing for it for under $10. The only downside is the honey smell. It is very strong. But, I highly recommend it!
salon quality!

This wax is great. You really get salon results with this stuff. You don't have to go back over spots, all the hair comes off the first time. I love that you don't have to use cloth strips; it makes me feel like I have more control of the wax. The things that I found that helped were:
1. If you have a piece that is hard to get off, pull off or cut off the excess and re-cover it with more wax in a longer strip away from the hair. Sometimes it is terribly painful if the edge where you are pulling from is right at the hair. If you have a longer strip you can rip it off easier like a bandaid.
2. I usually remove the hair in a sort of circular fashion. Start on the outside and work your way in. Usually, only half of the width of my strip is actually covering hair and I try to extend the strip longer than where the hair is so I can get a good grip on the wax and can pull it off in a quick motion (avoids bruising and ripping the skin)
3. Cover small areas of hair to be removed. Make sure the wax is relatively thin. If it's too thick it will take forever to harden. (but if it's too thin it can be hard to remove) Right when you can no longer see the hair is about the thickness the wax should be.
4. And ofcourse...use talcum powder or other powder (I use an all natural cornstarch powder because I can't use talc) Put this on before you wax. This will make it pull off easier and not stick to the skin as much. Use baby oil to soothe your skin after and to remove any excess wax.
I don't recommend this wax for face. It's much easier and safer to use the pre-waxed face strips. There is too much risk of getting this in your eyes or hair.
If you've never waxed before, try this on your lower leg before moving to the bikini area.
Good luck waxing!

So, I have been using this product for about 10 years now. It is the best cheap home waxing kit, although it has taken me years to figure it out. It is messy, and sticky, and if you get it on your clothes it will most likely not come off. I have ruined so many t-shirts that I have changed to waxing topless. You also have to heat it perfectly, and it varies from microwave to microwave. Some batches seem stickier than others. It is really hit or miss. I could not live without this product, but it is hard as hell to use. I even use the bikini and body and leg stuff on my face from time to time, because I feel the wax leaves the skin easier than the face formula. I never use the face formula, it never comes off. And if you don't want pain the first few times, don't wax period. It can hurt with this stuff, it can hurt with a professional. It's so much cheaper than a professional though! For larger areas like bikini area, I suggest Nads strips. They are fantastic.
Worked great!

I thought this product worked as well as when I have been waxed professionally. It's important to read the tips on how to use the wax. With proper use it works fantastic! I'm smooth with no bleeding and it's a lot cheaper than the salon.

I didn't see anything wrong with it. After reading some of the comments about how it hurts, I think that's only to be expected seeing how we are removing hair from the roots. Other then that it was good. I do find that the baby oil works wonders with getting it off and it also helps ease the pain.

I have extremely thick dark coarse hair and wanted to wax my bikini. This is the only product I have ever been able to use. It works wonderfully, and yeah it hurts, but remember you are ripping hair out of your body! It is going to hurt. But it always works for me as long as the hair is long enough but not too long, and I make sure I don't do it during certain times of the month when the skin is more sensitive. I would definitely recomend this product. I don't understand all the complaints about finding the wax difficult to remove because I never have any issues. It always comes off easily for me, but I make sure I don't let it sit too long. If it sits too long then yes, it gets too hard and cracks. If there is any little bit remaining, I just take the wax I just removed and use it to try and pull the remaining wax off, works every time. I also use it on small areas at a time, works better that way. I think it is a great product and now I don't have to fork out $80 bucks to get my bikini waxed. Results really last for a long time too! I wax every month now, and only costs me $10. Great product!

The surgi Wax roller was a good idea, i was able to roll the wax on easily, and i thought at first that this was easy.
Then after awile the wax was getting stuck in the roller, and i was not able to get wax out. So then i started taking Q-tips and putting the wax on my body, that worked for awile. Then i wanted more wax in a bigger area on my body so i poured the wax on the strip of cloth or w/e that paper is. That was a bad idea there was to much wax on the paper and it made a huge mess.
Then i got tired of messing with the wax and i wanted to get off the wax WHICH WAS A PAIN IN THE ASS.
I first tried using a finger nail, not so good
then i took a hot shower, hoping that would melt off the wax
then i though i would take a bath with hot water, not a good idea
then i looked on this website, and some said USE OLIVE OIL, as i did not have baby oil, OLIVE OIL actully works! i mean i have a few sticky spots, put 98% of my body is back to normal.
Did not do well!!

New Year's Resolution Gone Badly

My New Year's Resolution was to wax my legs this year. Now I have Surgi-Wax on my legs that I cannot peel off, scrub off with a loofa and hot water, or remove with baby oil. My legs are covered with dots where some hair pulled out and the remaining surgi-wax. I am off to the web to find help, and I will never use this product again. P.S. I read the directions several times before starting.
HORRIBLE!!!!

Wow, the experience I just had is best described as living hell!! It dries too fast and is near impossible to remove. Of course, the packaging doesn't suggest any ways to remove the wax once it's stuck to your skin, nor do they offer any phone numbers to call for help. My bikini area was covered with this crap, while I'm hobbling around trying to figure out how to take it off. Very painful. Hot water alone does not take it all off completely- it just melts it, moves it around, and scorches your skin.
Olive oil works if you don't have baby oil. Thank God I live alone.... That was horrendous.
Why would you let people do that to themselves?!

Its not wax! Its dries into plastic and rips at your skin, not just the hair.
I give it two because it does get the hair but thats if you can get it off even w the oil it comes with. It breaks off into pieces and makes a super huge mess if you cant decyfer the appropriate time BUT IT DRIES TOO QUICK!
I spent all my time trying to rip it off myself in tiny sections and then having to scrap it off my fingers.
I made an embarrassing mess of myself and the bathroom. It was hard for my male roommate to not notice something odd was going down.
Do Not Use Bikini Wax on Face!

I notice people are talking about new formula vs. old formula. Luckily, I have not tried the new one. I have the old formula, 4.8 ounces, in the white plastic jar with a handle, with orange lettering "Brazilian" South American Citrus.
I've had this for a couple years. I used it once on my upper lip, and all went well, far as I can remember. Last night I decided it would be a good idea to use it on my eyebrows. Not a good idea!!!
I heated it up, spread it on brow area. Unfortunately, it dripped onto eyelashes. Then, my head hair got involved. I realized this was not going well, so I got into shower to try to melt it away. Not a good idea!!!
Warm shower was bad, warm bath even worse. I then had sticky, what I can only describe as bubble gum/super glue stuff all over my eyebrows, lashes, hands, tub, and head hair. It melted alright, and spread.
I am sitting here 14 hours later with mineral oil all over my face and hair, which is now in my eyeballs, and blurring my vision. I am missing at least 1/4 of my outer left brow, as that is where my head hair first stuck and my 12 year old daughter tried to pull my hair out of the mess.
I've tried vasoline, butter, glycerin, and now trying the mineral oil. I think the mineral oil may be helping. It's a good thing I don't work on Sunday. I would have had to cancel all my morning appointments. Perhaps my afternoon appts. too. As it is nearly 11:00am and I am still a mess.
I went to Walmart an hour and a half ago, got the mineral oil and a product called "Hair Off" "Instant Eyebrow Shapers". They are clear stickers, that are shaped, apply, pull in opposite direction of growth, and hope brows are, uh, better. This product also included a free brow pencil. That is what sold me, the pencil, I will be needing that.
Follow directions, and, Do Not Use Bikini Wax on Face!!! Especially during "Happy Hour"!!!
I rated the product average. I am not saying the product is good or bad. I don't know how it would work if I actually followed the directions, which I lost. I also lost the oil that you are soppose to put on first, so that it doesn't stick to skin. I used the oil when I did my upper lip, and don't remember any trouble that time.
Perhaps the people that are unhappy with this product are not reading and following the directions, like me?

I hate the new formula. It is sticky and hard to get off!
What happened to the good old green stuff they use to sell that hardened and was easily removable?? I am writing to the manufacturer.
I can not believe they would release this new formula without consulting people who actually USE the product!!!
How do I get it off my fingers(etc)

First time waxer here. Maybe last time. Have it stuck everywhere. I'm sure it might improve with practice, but my pain tolerance finally wore so thin I had to quit. I'm putting mine in the trash. I just touched my hair (on my head)with my fingers accidently & it pulled some of my hair out. Acetone nail polish remover helped quite a bit on my hands, but not entirely, & I would not DARE put it "down there", which is very red & bumpy & irritated, even after the "soothing" lotion I used afterward. I don't think I'd recommend this product unless "maybe" one were extremely experienced with waxxing.
Never again

I hate the new wax. I had a hard time getting it off, but found that Parian Spirit works. It is used to clean makeup brushes and it stings, but at least it got all the snot green wax off me.

If you dislike the new formula as much as I do, write to the manufacturer directly and let them know you want the old stuff back.
The company is American International Industries. They have a comment page and want feedback. So let's tell them.
