I very much like my new Solia flat iron. It's smooth, doesn't pull or burn and is easy to manuver. The results are almost identical to having my stylist do it for me, except I need a little more practice. I am very satisfied!
Just as good as Chi

I had borrowed my friends chi-iron, and fell in love with it, so really wanted to buy one for myself. After reading the reviews about how a lot of people had problems with it, I decided to find something else that was comparable. I bought the solia 1", and it works just as good as the chi that my friend has.
If you're thinking of getting a chi, but are nervous about all the reviews, I would recommend the solia... it's just as good - seriously!
WOW!

I just bought this flatiron on wednesday today is friday and I just recieved it! I live in Canada so I was amazed and the superfast delivery and great customer service! I bought a babyliss tourmaline iron (the one with the redplates) at x-mas from a local store, and it sucked so i returned it. After using the Solia once I thank God I returned the other one! I already have pretty straight hair but with this flatiron my hair is super straight and shiny and beautiful!!! I was skeptical at first about how well this would work but it is worth every penny (the Babyliss I bought was $169 canadian, the solia worked out to be $114 can. with shipping). Do not hesitate buy this NOW!! I will post pictures soon to show you how great this is.
AWESOME!!

I spend alot of time searching for the perfect straightener compared prices and ratings. I found this straightener and at first I was hesitant to buy it because i thought it was alot of money with my minimum wage job but it was definitely worth every penny.
not so hot

the solia just didnt seem to get very hot... even at the hottest setting. i have very thick, long hair and it still took me just as long to straighten it as my conair.... and i would have to pull the solia very slowly to get it hot enough to be really straight.
i have tried the chi and am much more happy with the results.
Great Iron!!!

This iron does an excellent job on my hair. I can shower at night and let my hair air dry, then it the morning I can straighten my unruly mane in about 5-10 minutes which is quicker than showering in the morning, drying then straightening, which before I got this iron was the only way I could get my hair fully straight and shiny.
One thing, which I don't know if it's bad or just really good, it makes my hair SO soft and SO smooth, I can't keep it in a pony tail if I need to, it just slides right out!
It's light and easy to work with, I love the swivle cord, and it doesnt pull on hair strands and slides across my hair very smoothly.
Finally...

This is a great product. I've had many straight irons, all of which end up pulling my hair out and/or the finish comes off. Not this one, it straightens better than any other one I have used (even in the salons) and it stays that way. I have coarse curly hair that is very difficult to keep straight, especially in humid or wet weather, but the Solia works great...

I bought this for my daughter. She had wanted a Chi but after researching this website and reading reviews on here and other sites I decided to purchase the Solia. She is very happy. She says it is better than the Chi her friends have. A bonus is the Solia is about $50 less than Chi.

This hair straightener is amzaing! I love it. I have never use anything this good. I have used more expensive hair straighteners, and still haven't gotten the same look as the Solia. I use it to curl my hair a lot as well. Its incredible how it can curl! It works way better then my curling Iron, and the curls last until I was my hair again.
You'll love this product!!!

My daughter and I both use this flat iron. It is less expensive than the Chi and we both think it is better.
It doesn't pull your hair, it straightens it beautifully, and it leaves your hair soft and shiny!
It is worth the investment!
Love it!!

My daughter has been searching for a straightening iron that really works. She had told me that the only one she knew of that was worth anything was a Chi. I did a search on Chi and found that the least expensive one I could find was actually on your site and sold for around $125.00. This was too much for me and so I opted for the Solia. She loves it!!! She is able to straighten her hair with ease and in record time. No more waiting 2 hours for her to do her hair. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a quality iron but doesn't want to pay more than $85.00.
Solia 3/4" is better!

I didnt like the 1 inch Solia. I found it too heavy and it wasnt as easy to manuever like the 3/4 inch Solia. I went back to the 3/4" design tool and am very happy. Its easy to get to the roots of your hair, even my sister whose hair is much longer than mine prefers the design tool.
Worth the money

I had only used my roommates $200 CHI straightener before this one so of course it doesnt compare BUT it works fine for my needs, especially for the cheaper price. My hair is chin length and pretty thick- It leaves my hair looking healthy and gets the waves out of my hair with little effort. My hair looks great in a short amount of time! Get it!

This is the second professional flat iron I purchased for my daughter. I first purchased the Sedu, which is great. The Solia isn't bad, but we don't like it as much as the Sedu. The cord isn't very long, and it doesn't glide on the hair as well as the Sedu. But, overall, we are satisfied.

I've been very pleased with my Solia. I've owned it about 8 months now, and it works great. I don't know what the big deal is about the Chi.

Other than a $14 Conair Flat Iron from Target(worthless), this is my first flat iron so I really have little to compare it to. I have shoulder length medium textured hair that has become rather wavy in the last couple of years. The Solia has been a good flat iron for me. It works better when my hair is completely dry even though it says that it can be used on damp hair. As long as I take the time to comb through each small section of hair and don't try to flat iron too much hair at once, my hair will remain pretty straight for several days even though I excercise (and sweat) almost daily. I've had no problem with it snagging my hair like the conair did. I was hoping that I would get a high-gloss shine with this flat iron, but I really can't say that it happened-Maybe my expectations are too high. I'm experimenting with different products, but mostly use the Superstraight Relaxing Serum by Pureology. I was glad to find a professional quality flat iron for less than $100 and was pleased with my experience at folica.

I bought this iron about 5 months ago and it works like a charm. I have very dry & brittle hair that is fine & colour treated. At first, I used it without putting anything in my hair & I didn't like the results much. I went to a new stylist and she gave a 1st lesson on most imortant things about taking care of your hair. She gave me an Iron guard creme to put in my hair before ironing. Not only it makes my hair silky smooth but it take away the frizz & also guards your hair against the heat.
My best choice is CHI IONIC GUARD (or maybe Thermo guard).
It's MAGIC!!! Apparently, it has broken silk molecules in it & using the iron forces the silk molecules to infuse into the hair strands .... & make the hair silkier! (my hairstylist told me that :P)
I received my order (2 Ceramic Irons) a week after ordering it, which was much earlier than I had expected at a great price! I GOT WHAT I ASKED FOR & IT WAS QUICK W/ NO HASSLE. Thank you Folica and Thank you to everyone for their honest reviews on the products ... it was as I expected! :)

I've only had this product for about 2 months and so far I loved it. I would have gotten the CHI because that was the only brand that I know of, however reading all the other comments for other purchasers, I went with Solia instead. The only question that I had with it was the pamplet said that is the metal part gets dirty, to wipe it off with the cloth inside the box......THERE WAS NONE. Other than that it was amazing.
