Works well. I have thick wavy hair and it heats up quickly and is easy to handle. Works on damp hair as well, which means you don't have to completely dry it prior to getting through your hair.
Don't Know How I Lived Without It!

After doing ALOT of research, I decided to purchase the Solia Tourmaline Ceramic Ion Flat Iron over the Chi and Sedu irons. I am African American and Japanese, so my hair is naturally coarse and wavy. Currently, I have been chemically straightening my hair. Unlike the Chi, the Solia has a broader range of temperature options and an adjustable thermostadt. In addition, it's an ion flat iron and I can use all the help I can get controlling frizz. In addition, many African American hairstylists recommend the Solia over Chi. In fact, a friend of mine manages a beauty store and her Loma representative recommended the Solia over the Chi for my hair. In addition, the reports I read of Solia users didn't mention the electrical problems that seem to plague both the Chi and the Sedu. Plus, the Solia is about $40 cheaper than the Chi, but still well-built and solid. The plates are smooth, no-stick and fit together flush so you can really get in tight areas like behind the ears. Heats up and cools down in seconds. I've dropped it and it keeps working. I absolutely love it. It takes me a quarter the time to do my hair and the results last and last even in New York humidity, with the addition of the right hair care products. When I walked in for a hair appointment just the other day, my stylist immediately noticed and asked if I had bought a new flat iron! I absolutely love it. Don't know how I lived without it. For salon-style results on coarse hair, I highly recommend it.
Better than Corioliss

I already have pretty straight hair but this iron made my hair super straight, soft, silky and shiny. It was still straight even after I slept on it and tied it up for the whole day. When I finally had my hair down at the end of the day, it was just as straight as before. This is the best iron ever. My cousin had the Corioliss, which is about $130 and this works even better than that.
Excellent!

I've had my Solia flat iron for about a month now, and I absolutely love it! It was worth every penny. My hair stays straight and beautiful all day long. It also feels softer than when I was using a cheaper flat iron. The difference is amazing! I researched flat irons extensively and originally was going to buy a Chi. However, after reading reviews for both, I decided to get the Solia. I have used a Chi before, and I can say that the Solia works just as well as a Chi. The Solia costs less and has an adjustable heat setting, while the original Chi doesn't. You have to get a Chi Turbo for that and it costs even more. So if you really want a nice flat iron that works great but would like to save some money, go with the Solia.
Just your average iron

After a recommendation from a friend and reading several of these reviews, I was excited to order and try out my solia. I was a little disappointed when I finally got it because my iron from Sally's actually worked about the same, if not better, and it cost me less. The Solia straightened my hair ok, but left the ends feeling dry, and the rest of my hair just looking flat and dull. I guess it works great for some people, but personally I would recommend you save your money and go to Sally's.
Decent but not for me.

I recently purchased the Solia flat iron, although it heated quickly it did not make my hair shiny or super straight. I followed all the tips on flat ironing but maybe my hair is too thick and coarse for this iron. It would probably work well for people w/finer hair. I've returned the Solia and purchased a Sedu but still waiting to receive it.
Love it

Wow, what an amazing straightener. It's what I needed for my fine blonde hair. I had been using my roommate's CHI straightener and it would burn my hair. I like the temperature control and tourmaline plates. I love my straightener!

This iron is awesome! I have very curly fine hair that comes out great with this iron. Without blow drying I can straighten my hair with this tool in about 20 minutes at a lower setting so that I don't damage my fine hair. My hair comes out shiny, soft, and perfectly straight, plus thie size of this iron makes it easy to flip under/out at the ends.

This is my first flat iron, and I love it. I have short hair and hava always used a curling brush to straighten my bangs. I have naturally curly hair and my bangs never got really straight. With the Solia my bangs stay straight for days. I am so happy with this flat iron, and would recommend it highly. I wish I had discovered it sooner!
Great for straightening, not so great for curls

This product works very well for straightening hair, even damp hair. My hair feels very silky and does not get fried at the tips after using it. I have been having problems getting to curl my hair though as it leaves my hair really frizzy and my hair smells burnt. Others have been able to get it to curl on their hair and have tried on my hair and it has worked a little better, so it could be the way I am doing it. Otherwise, I am very satisfied with the product.
Pretty good...

This was the first high-end flatiron I've ever used. My hair is thin, but I have a good amount of it, and very wavy.
This iron generally works pretty well. It heats up very quickly and the heat distributes evenly. However - the thin shape makes hair slip out sometimes, and you also have to clamp it down pretty hard to get your hair very straight. Even when I've gone over some spots multiple times, I still notice some wave in my hair, and it's tough for me to get the ends stick straight.
This works really well for styling bangs, though. A keeper - but not the best (I hope!) out there.

I have tried many flat irons and the Solia Tourmaline Ceramic Ion has been the best yet. It is great on my daugther's coarse, curly hair and I can also use it on mine. My hair is just a little wavy and when I have used previous flat irons it makes my hair too flat. This one is excellent making it shiny and more manageable with lots of body
Great!

So far this flat iron has been fantastic! I live in Hawaii with lots of humidity and this has really stood up to the test. This leaves my hair extremely flat non-frizzy and shiny. I've gotten a ton of compliments on my "new" hair from friends that have seen the "old". Recommend this to anyone!
Buy it!!!

I recommend this flat iron. It doesnt pull on my hair or damage it like other flat irons I have owned before. It straightens my hair is less time too! I was skeptical at first but now that I have one, I love it. It is very worth the price.
Still the best

We've used 5 different brands of "high end" flat irons in our salon. None of them can compare to what we've found with the Solia irons. The full, tight closure allows for a smoothing like we've never seen. The ceramic and ionic properties of the iron leave hair feeling, simply, healthier.
We could not possibly be happier.
I love it!!!

This hair straightener doesn't compare to any other ceramic iron i have ever used. It heats up fast, straightens very quickly and leaves my hair really shiny. I recommend it to anyone with curly hair.

I purchased this as a gift for my wife and she really likes it. She was using a wider ceramic iron by ByBliss prior and while it worked fine, this new iron seems to get the job done quicker and with less damage to her hair. Highly recommended.
