I have the pink version of this, and I cannot say how much I love it.
It is really light, and it straightens really easily. It glides over my thick, wavy hair, and leaves it straight all day.
My friend with a CHI iron really likes mine, and I like mine better also.
If anyone doesn't know what iron to buy, get this one. You will love it.
LOVE this iron! Best quality for the price!

Okay so I have VERY thick, coarse, wavy hair that gets difficult to manage once it gets past shoulder length. I have been using flat irons since I was 15 so a little over 5 years, but before I got my Solia I always used cheapo Conairs or Revlons. Once in a while I'd splurge and get a $50 Hot Tools iron from the mall. Of course, every iron I had either broke, or my hair got so damaged I had to cut it all off.
Last summer I just got fed up with my hair frizzing out in humidity, smelling burnt, breaking off, etc...all the symptoms of using a CHEAP flat iron! I got on Folica looking for reviews for the Chi since I'd heard a lot about it from my friends. Then I saw that the Solia was a good deal cheaper and it had such amazing reviews, I had to try it. 2 days later it was on my doorstep, thanks Folica for the amazing customer service!
I was amazed the first time I used it at how the plates just glided through my hair. I'd never seen my hair so smooth and shiny before! You wouldn't even know that I actually have really wavy hair. The 1" width is perfect for my shorter hairstyle, but if it gets longer than shoulder length I might consider upgrading to the 1 1/4". It takes me about 15 minutes to straighten my hair and I usually only have to do one pass through of each section with my Solia.
My stylist also remarks at how little damage my hair has taken since I switched flat irons. I color my hair too and it's not even damaged at all (but I use a heat protectant, which you should always do when heat styling). After a year it is still going strong, and it gets a lot of use since I straighten after every wash. I use Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum with this and I've never had better hair in my life, even in the middle of August when it's 95 degrees and 100% humidity.
So if you are worried about spending $85 for a flat iron, trust me, this pays for itself. Think of it as something that will last you a long time instead of having to shell out $25 every few months for another crappy drugstore iron that will end up destroying your hair. Plus, it's a lot cheaper than the Chi or GHD, and in my opinion nothing could do that much of a better job than the Solia. BUY IT! I sound like an ad for this thing but I'm serious.
Solia was the BEST choice!

I have shoulder length hair that was in serious need of training and thought a hair iron would be the answer. I took a long time reading reviews and listening to stylists, but then finally gave into buying the 1” Solia. As I have now let all my layers grow out, my hair has a tendency to flatten out by midday and needs lots of volume. I inherited my mom’s wavy hair, so often it just does what it pleases. The first day I used it I was thrilled with the results. This time, with the Solia I was able to tame the flips and contour curls while maintaining volume. It was very easy to use even after the 1st time. My hair looked great. The heat control button is a great feature. Rather than just having an on or off button, you can control the amount of heat you need at any given time. I am sure the tourmaline plates are the reason that my hair has become unusually soft. Sure I am putting extra moisture products in it, but I really think the plates are making a difference. I had read other irons had a problem with the cord constantly tangling, but the Solia does not have that problem. The power cord is attached to a swivel feature that allows the cord to easily move one way and then the other. It heats up very quickly – I use setting 300.
There are other irons less costly than the Solia (I paid $85). However I felt the features on the Solia was worth the extra cost and as I use it almost daily, I needed one that would not be too harsh on my hair. You get what you pay for, and I am glad to have purchased the Solia.
Just as good as the Sedu...

Or even better ;) I straightened my hair in an hour, and as you can tell it is pretty straight! What I like is that it doesn't make my hair smell burnt. It actually smells like what I used to condition my hair which is nice (sadly, the Sedu doesn't do that for me). I had to get a new straightener because my mom was taking it on her trip, and I am happy with my decision. It creates a lot of shine and it feels sooooo soft <3 The only thing I didn't like was the temperatures, I wish there were more but other than that this straightener is really nice :) So if your looking for something that is affordable then you should choose this iron!
awesome!

my old straightener was a conair. cheap one you can get from any store. $30 or $40 MAX. but i finally gave in and bought this because of the great reviews. i love it! it works really fast and its amazing. the best part is, even when i straighten my hair, then later put my hair up, it does not crease at ALL! its a fantastic product and i'd reccomend it to everyone!
the only problem i'm having is that it seems to not turn on sometimes. i have to wiggle the cord adapter thing around a few times. weird, but still amazing.
Smooooth!!

I love my Solia! I have very thick, somewhat wavy hair that becomes bigger and frizzed in the humidity, and also for a day or so after I wash and dry it. I've tried a zillion anti-frizz products, but nothing ever really worked. Recently I switched to a new hair stylist/salon and my new stylist used a GHD flat iron on my hair after she bobbed it. I was amazed at how sleek and smooth it made my hair. Of course I immediately wanted my own flat iron, but the GHD was out of my price range...so after doing lots of research I was deciding between a Chi and a Solia; I picked the Solia because of its adjustable temp settings, its materials (ceramic/tourmaline), and its rave reviews from satisfied customers, and I am really pleased with my choice. I am a novice with the iron, but right away I got salon results--as smooth and silky as when my stylist did it. This iron is easy to use, the 1" is the perfect size for my bobbed hair, and I smooth it all out in about 10 minutes. Plus it stays smooth and silky for three days 'til I wash it again. I use a heat guard serum from my salon with the iron set at 370 F, and it hasn't done any damage to my hair at all. I'd recommend the Solia, and Folica.com is great--I got my iron in perfect condition with the free pouch the day after I ordered it!

I've been wanting to get a portable flat iron i can use that would be affordable and effective. I read the reviews of this iron from women of various races with various hair textures. So many gave positive reviews that I decided to try it for myself. I must say, I'm quite pleased. The iron gets hot quickly and works wonderfully on my hair. It has lessoned the time it takes to straighten my hair so that's enough of a selling point!! I would certainly recommend this iron to anyone!
I WAS SHOCKED!

I absolutely LOVE this iron! I initially had a hard time deciding which brand to purchase, but after risking a trial with the Solia, I must admit that it has become my new favorite hair tool! My hair isn't relaxed, so my roots often puff up, especially during the hot and humid summer months. Solia saves the day! It heats up quickly (and has adjustable heat settings which is great for the hair), doesn't leave those irritating creases, NEVER snags, and leaves my hair soft, shiny and gorgeous without drying it out. Everyone always offers compliments to my hair, and I have the Solia to thank for that! I don't know what I'd do without it!
Great buy!

Hi, I bought this flat iron a few months ago. I love it. Works really well and gets very hot. (My hair is naturally curly and prone to friz.) It's easy to use. I don't straighten my hair every day, so it hasn't had a ton of use, but enough to know it's a great buy for the money! I'd definitely recommend it...

I have had wavy/curly hair since I hit puberty. I do like the curly hair, however; it is nice to change once in a while. I started searching for the perfect straightener after getting my hair done at a salon and she straightened it with a "Chi". I was blown away at how straight and soft and it lasted. So the search began. I found this site and after reading hundreds of reviews, decided the Solia was for me.
This iron heats up quickly and it takes me about 10 minutes to straighten my hair. My hair is soft, shiny and stays straight.... I love this, works like a dream. Only took 3 days to arrive to Canada and you can't beat the prices on this site... not even ebay. Anyways if you are looking for an iron and don't want the problems associated with the Chi then this is the iron for you....
LOVE THIS!!!!

I've colored my hair more times than i could even count, and after a while it gets pretty damaged. Ive owned many irons, and this is the only that seems to do the job. My hair looks gorgeous after straigtening it, and its not dry looking, but its shiny and smooth.
everyone always complements me on my hair, and i tell them, i use the solia.
recently my sister was angry at me so she decided to smash it, so it broke. for a temp i bought this suposedly nice iron, that was pretty pricey at the store, but no way can it sraighten like solia. the solia iron kept my hair straight until i washed it, not like when u straighten ur hair and when u go utside it turns into a fro.
i recomend this to everyone.
i guess now im off to buy another one.
great iron

I have about 6 irons at my house but all of them went in the closet after I got my Solia.
I can't really tell you how great this iron will be for you because it all depends on what your desired result is.
The Solia straigtens hair in a way that makes your hair look NATURALLY straight and silky compared to the CHI which makes your hair look like you straightened it with an iron.
I also dye my hair a lot but the Solia doesn't damage my hair one bit. It makes my hair sooo silky even the constantly bleached areas. I love my Solia and honestly for this price its a bargain.

I used to have long hair, but got it cut to the middle of my neck. Needing a 3-in one tool is the reason I bought this iron, it can flip the ends out, curl and and most importantly straighten my extremely curly hair!! Not only that but it heats up in less than a minute!!

Well my hair is already semi-straight since I'm asian. But this straightener is awesome! It makes my hair super shiny and straight! It doesn't burn or fry my hair and I do my hair in 2 sections: the top layer and the bottom layer. I've recieved so many compliments on how great my hair has looked lately! I was trying to decide if I should get the Sedu or the Solia and I decided to get the Solia because its much cheaper and it works just as well and maybe even better! I love my new straightener! And folica has great customer service!

I really love this flat iron, The reason why I rated this excellent is because it does what I need it to do. I just wish that I would have got the 1 and 3/4.......I only got the 1 inch, and my hair is a littl thick when I wash it, but once it is flat ironed it is very thin. Also it takes about 1 hour to make it bone straight, but it is totally worth the $75.00 that I paid for it, Don't get me wrong it so totally works, for all women, and all ethnic backgrounds. I mean I have fine wavy, curly hair, and trust me it gets those curls out once I use it. I don't even need to use a straightening spray while flat ironing my hair. Maybe next time I'll get a bigger flat iron plate. Solia is a wonderful brand.!!!:~) I give it 4 stars!:~)

It took about not even 10 min to straighten my hair and it was great. It did everything it said on the box. The shipping was fast and this was the BEST flat Iron I had ever had. You if want a Great flat Iron I would recommend this one for sure.
