Review From a Guy - I LOVE IT!

First, most posts on here are from women, so guys... here's a post for you. I have hair short to medium length hair (about 2-2.5 inches long) and this thing works perfectly. I use it when my hair is just a little damp, don't have a lot of water in your hair cause it'll burn the hell out your scalp. The thing gets hott, and quick! Within 30 seconds it's ready to go. If you go slow you can get each section straight in one pull, but i do multiple swipes and it takes me about 4 minutes to do my whole head. Just gotta say, this is the best flat iron for guys with shorter hair. I'm thinking about buying another one just in case they discontinue the 3/4" model. You won't be disappointed.
YOU'VE GOTTA OWN ONE OF THESE!!!

I've been using a CHI for about seven years and the Solia has put my CHI into early retirement!!! I love it...it makes my hair feel great....silky, shiny, and above all...HEALTHY...I'm of Hispanic/African American heritage and it makes my hair look absolutely gorgeous!!! I highly reccommend this to EVERYONE!!!

For my first flat iron this is a decent product. Much better then the Conair I first bought, which did nothing for my fine short hair. I would recommend to others...
Great Value

I have heard from several friends that they paid half as much for a ceramic "coated" iron and one friend that paid $150 for the iron like I have. Works exactly as described, takes practice getting the curl just right but very easy for straight styles.
Will purchase larger one when my hair grows out more.
Excellent straightening iron for short hair

This iron is great for short hair. I used to have a Chi before this one without temperature adjustment. This one works much better and I don't have split ends anymore due to the lower temperatures.
Would buy it again.
I love it!

I recently had my hair cut short and needed a flat iron in a hurry! I have used a Hot Tools flat iron in the past and was not impressed. My stylist recommended a Chi, but after reading reviews I decided on the Solia.
I received it super-fast and I love it. It heats up amazingly fast, is very easy to use with the long swivel cord and I don't burn my self because the outer parts do not get hot. I would highly recommend this product!
Great!

I like it a lot. I've only used it 3 or so times, but the results have been great. I have short to medium length hair and it has worked well. It also heats up fast and I only need to run it once or twice through my hair to get it straight. Highly recommended!
Brilliant

I have hair past my shoulders but I opted for the mini size because of portability and greater control. My hair is very fine and wavy, and with my $15 Conair it took me about fifteen minutes to straighten it. With this Solia I'm finished in about three minutes, without blow drying first (i.e., letting my hair dry naturally). It heats up incredibly fast and is really lightweight. Before I tried it out, I was under the impression that this iron would work miracles, as in just a once-over and my hair would be stick-straight. I find that sometimes I do have to concentrate on certain curly bits but I think my expectations were too high. However, it's well worth the money and I wouldn't dream of going back to my Conair.

i was very happy to see how well it worked. My only complaint is that my hair is a little thickeer and in really humid days i have to run it through my hair again. Other than that, it works well! I love the size it gets right up to your roots! and keeps hair soft and shiny!
Good product

This Product works just as it says. I'm not one who is skilled at styling my relaxed hair and that is why I am at the hair salon every week. Lat week, I had a hair disaster in between visits and did not want to go back to the salon and pay another $40.00 plus tip. My hair gets bushy when I wash it by myself..Thank God for my ceramic iron, it helped tame my hair and I was able to straightened my hair without it getting dry and burn, which is the results of my other flat iron ( used that one once without getting the desired result). The only thing is figuring out how to use it to curl my ends, I had to go use a curling iron afterwards to do that.
I recommend it

I have invested in 2 Solia flat irons. One short one for my pixie cut and a bigger one for my daughts long hair. We both have perms. and I loved the finish and my styles last.

I had been looking at this particular flat iron for some time & read over ALL of the reviews before deciding to make my purchase. I must say that I am very pleased with my purchase as well as the results of my thick, coarse hair. I previously owned a Conair Ceramic 3/4 inch flat iron & I'll have to say that this iron works so much better & my hair has the most beautiful shine to it, one that is otherwise seen when I leave my hairdresser (the conair didn't do that & I use the same product (biosilk silk therapy) with both irons). I would definitely recommend this product to others. *Especially since it held up to the southern heat in New Orleans, LA. : )
go for it!

I tried this product and wow! It really is great . My hair couldn't hold a curl for my dance recital and I used the 3/4" solia and it staded all through the dance review which was about 5 hours long . I just love this product it will work for anyone .
4B or not 4B

The Solia 3/4" was just the right size for my 5" length of hair. It heated withing seconds and was easy to handle. The temperature control was also a great feature. Solia heats to about 450 degrees. I also liked the blinking light that let you know when it was ready for use. Unfortunately, I experienced the same difficulty that I have when hot combing my hair. The ends just don't straighten. I found that the Solia did not really close tightly over my hair as I moved down from the scalp to the ends. Perhaps this is because my hair is fine. My 4a/4b hair straigthens fine from the root to the ends and then you get flattened, dry, curls. Impossible to pull a comb through the mess.
I thought maybe changing the hair products I used would change the results but still the same sad ends. Also my hair changed back within minutes although I must say it has been very humid where I live.
I recommend the Solia to anyone without 4a or 4b hair. But from other reviews I have read 4b hair is very difficult to straighten without relaxed hair, which my experience has shown.
By the way for all those who recommend trimming my ends, just want to say I could trim my ends till dooms day and still won't get straight ends without lots of damage.
The best flat iron I've ever used!

This iron gets very hot, and it straitens my hair quicker than others I've tried. I have kinky-curly hair, and I am growing out a relaxer so I wanted to find a flat iron that is hot enough to straiten black hair. I found that when I blow dry my hair first I get the best results. I like the 3/4" size for around the hair line. I am better able to straiten those areas with the size. The only problem I have with this iron is the design. I find that my hair catches. I also own the sedu iron, and I like it's flat design better. The only issue I have with the sedu iron is that it doesn't get as hot as this one, so it doesn't leave my roots as strait. Overall, it does a great job, and straitens my hair much faster because of its high heat.

I originally bought this iron for a friend. After she told me how well it worked for her, I decided to purchase one for myself and I must agree with her. This iron heats up very quickly, lighter in weight than previous irons I have owned, and leaves hair very soft (my hair is naturally dry and coarse). My friend has owned her iron for about 8 months now and she says it continues to deliver great results.

I LOVE MY STRAIGHTNER I'VE TRIED ONES FROM OTHER STORES AND IT WOULD NOT GET MY HAIR AS STRAIGHT AS I WANTED BUT THE SOLIA DOES THAT AND IT ONLY TAKES 10 MINS. TO DO IT AND OTHERS I'VE TRIED WOULD TAKE A HOUR.
