Product Rating: 4 African American Wonders
Reviewer: Lassalle Wyatt from Baltimore, Maryland  Fri Mar 30 2007

Being that I am an African American female with naturaly long hair pass shoulders. I find that certain products don't work well for us.(trail & error )
Nobody has the perfect hair w/o products that works best for their hair texture(s). With that said, I brought 2 verision of Solia the 1-3/4 & 3/4. Being my teenage daughter has real short hair under 8".the 3/4 works really well for her she feels more confident in herself with her looks. These products works well with heat protecting products I like Matrix & Dudley's (easy curling & waving) just a little while styling. The main reason I seeked out the Solia line, is b/c My hair dresser used
them in her salon so less trips to the salon..With same professional results. I do beleive we are our worst critics, in judging what works best for oneself. I feel in love with this WONDER.

Product Rating: 5 I love it.
Reviewer: Kristen from Pembroke Ma  Fri Mar 23 2007

When i first got the straightener I thought it was too small and i was worried that with my frizzy and thick hair it would take forever. When I used it i realized that it was faster than the $30 straighteners. It takes at most 20 minutes to have it perfectly straight and my hair looks so glossy after, I love this straightener. Plus, it heats up in 30 seconds and you can adjust the temperature. It's worth it if you're worried about the price.

Product Rating: 5 Great for relaxed/colored treated hair!
Reviewer: Buffy from Connecticut  Fri Mar 16 2007

I confess, I am brutal with my hair- I relax AND color, blow dry AND flat iron. I was looking for a new flat iron that could get to the regrowth that happens in between touch-ups AND not snag my hair (which is why I tossed my old iron). This 3/4" flat iron gets it done! It's small enough to maneuver get the back (the kitchen) and the sides where it tends to get frizzy first. I find its so easy to bend, curl or flip my hair, although I love the "straight-bended" look the best. The Solia flat iron is light, heats up quickly and handles well. You MUST use heat iron spray to protect your ends! The best? No more frizzies! Yeah!

Folica has super fast shipment and you get a cute bag to put your investment in. You will not be dissapointed in this choice of flat irons.

I purchased this iron because I have thick curly hair that tends to be very dry. I already own a 2 inch iron and needed an iron that would grab my roots for simple touch ups. To my surprise, this iron not only grabbed my roots for straigtening touch ups but also curled the ends of my hair. I love that curl at the end of my hair. I did the flip at the end of my hair because the straight ends tend to make your hair look fake and flat and nobody no matter how much you take care of your ends can have perfect looking flat ends. A curl at the bottom makes your hair look healthy. ALSO! FOLICA IS THE BEST ON-LINE BEAUTY STORE. THEY HAVE EXTREMELY FAST DELIVERY! I have never had to return anything and I love the customer reviews. I hope this helps you.

Product Rating: 5 Solia is the best
Reviewer: Suzie from Milford, CT  Thu Feb 22 2007

This is the very best of flat irons. My hair looks so healthy and sliky and shiny. I learned to use it to curl the ends and it works like a charm. I threw out the curling iron. This works better. several of my friends asked my to come over and do their hair. All the guys at my health club have complimented how pretty I look with my long shiny locks. I purchased the BioSilk products to use with this Solia flat iron and I am all set. Thank you, Thank you. Suzie

Product Rating: 5 Love this Straightener
Reviewer: Julei from Enumclaw, WA  Mon Feb 19 2007

Got this straightener for my daughter and she loves it. My other daughter has the more expensive Chi and this one is just as good. She loves the thin design as she can straighten her bangs and it works on her long hair also. Her hair is silky and straight in just minutes.

Product Rating: 5 Worth It
Reviewer: Liana from Blacksburg, VA  Wed Feb 14 2007

Just like the larger Solia flat iron that I already have (1-3/4 inches, I believe), the smaller 3/4 inch flat iron is just as great. I recently cut bangs, and I wanted to be able to straighten my bangs with a slight inward curve. My new Solia flat iron is PERFECT for this. I love both Solia products and definitely recommend them, whether you have straight hair that you want to control more easily or curly hair (like myself) that you want to completely change.

Product Rating: 4 Good Product!!
Reviewer: Yvonne from White Plains, N.Y.  Mon Feb 12 2007

I originally bought the Sedu 1 inch and that worked GREAT!! I had to but the Solia because I have short hair that I am trying to grow out. On top I have about 3-4 inches of hair but on the sides and in the back it's SHORT!!!! At most 1 inch at the sides and very tapered in the back. I did not want to get the Wee CHI which is 1/2 in because I heard the unit was not durable so I got the Solia 3/4 instead. It does the job!! I can get the hair around my ears and at the back of my head much better than I could with the Sedu although I still Love my Sedu. I figure in another 3 months I will be able to use the Sedu all over my head so I have put away for now and use the Solia. Don't forget to moisturize your hair and use thermal products for your hair. Overall, a very good product. Now the hair around my ears and the back of my head area is a straight as the hair on top!!!

Product Rating: 5 Solis 3/4 inch Flat Iron & Free Mat
Reviewer: Charmaine Chin from Toronto, Canada  Mon Feb 05 2007

I have short black hair and previously tried to use my kids flat iron which was at least 1 1/2 inches wide. I was not impressed as my hair came out kinky and it did not do a good job. I was pleasantly surprised when I ordered the 3/4 inch Solis flat iron as it did just what the reviews said it would do. It heated quickly, it was easy to use, straightened and curled my hair, no kinky hair, and I have not had to use hairsprays or holding sprays to keep my hair looking good all day. My curling time has dropped by 1/2 the time. I am totally sold on the product. The free mat was a bonus, and does come in handy while curling your hair, and it is also convenient for travelling.

Product Rating: 5 perfect for those short stray hairs!
Reviewer: emh   Fri Dec 01 2006

Even if you have long hair, this will tame those short little strays around your face. I use this after I use my larger one, or I'll use it just to touch up my style. Great iron, great price.

Product Rating: 4 Awesome iron
Reviewer: JC from Las Vegas, NV  Sat Nov 25 2006

This flat-iron is the bomb! It makes your hair soft and doesn't fry the ends like other products I've used. Doesn't product that burning hair smell; and the variable heat setting is great.

Product Rating: 4 WORKS-For Dudes Too
Reviewer: BlackSabbath   Fri Nov 24 2006

I'm a guy, I have horrible hair; it's like a curled notty sock on my head. The longer it grows, the worse it looks, till it gets buzzed right off again. This was my only way of making myself look presentable. And I'm not the "G.Q." or "Dum-Jock" type; I want my hair long again.

This thing WORKS.

It gets my hair so straight, and so smooth (in like 5 minutes) it's ridiculous. If I just used this iron, and didn't brush it, I'd look like Vash the Stampede (do a google search on TRIGUN)!

I just wish I had it before I cut my hair off when it was long. STOP CUTTING THAT RONALD MCDONALD/ SOCK HAIR/ GRANDMA DOO OFF, AND DROP 80 BUCKS ON THIS! You won't regret it.

The only bad part about it is: When you sweat hard enough, or get your hair soaked, it'll go right back. So you use it every day, but so what, it's just hair to dudes, right.

Get it.

This iron is awesome! I just got it today, and like a lot of you out there, I was so excited about getting it that i went ahead and straightened my hair. I let my hair air dry, so it was dull and curly/wavy when i straightened it. After I straightened it, it was so increadibly soft and shiny and it is so easy to make your hair look natural when you use this iron because of the wrap around plates. With most irons, the look comes out stick-straight, but it looks really fake. With the Solia, it still came out stick-straight, but I was able to flip my hair under so that it looked natural. Also, as you know, it's winter, which means lots of annoying static. But this iron didn't make my hair static-y at all, like my old Revlon did. Overall this product is AWESOME! I would recommend it to anyone with short to shoulder-length hair, just as long as it's not incredible thick. If it's really thick, I would go with the Solia 1".

P.S. I think that this iron worked better than the CHI that my friend has been using on my hair. The CHI made my hair really oily and really static-y. This is definitely a better buy than the CHI.

Product Rating: 5 best iron i've tried

i won't go into long detail about this iron, i just want to say that it is the best one i've ever used...quick to heat, keeps frizzies away. I haven't had a bad hair day since using this iron....no kidding. it's fabulous.

Product Rating: 4 GREAT!
Reviewer: Emily from Brooklyn, New York  Sun Oct 15 2006

This straightener is amazing! It's really small but it gets the job done fast! I have thick wavy hair and it only takes me about 15-20 minutes to straighten my hair perfectly. It makes my hair feel thinner and silky. You can style your hair with it too. Sometimes I use it to flip the bottom on my hair out, or I can curl my hair with it. Although it creates a few flyaways now and then, it's an excellent straightener.

Product Rating: 5 Worth the money.

Very satisfied. Salon quality. It has made my hair manageable and soft. Great for short hairstyles, but good for long unruly hair as well. I used iron for creating waves in my hair extensions. Just hope that it will last for many years.

Product Rating: 5 Great for short (and even medium) length hair
Reviewer: Lisa from Alaberta, Canada  Mon Jul 17 2006

A Little Background Info: I like my hair straight and I used to spend 1 hr or more everytime I washed my hair blowdrying it straight and then using a ceramic straightener to make it stay straight.

The Situation: I wanted to cut my hair short and give it a messy/punky look but my hair is curly and I was afraid that it would be impossible to straighten and I would end up looking like and old lady with a perm.

The Solution: I bought the 3/4" Solia iron and I gotta say my hair is as low maintenance as it has ever been. I quickly blow dry it so that it's faster to straighten and it takes me less than 20 minutes to get my hair looking fabulous and the best part is that it lasts 2 to 3 days so that I don't have to style it every day. Also, I used the iron with medium length hair for a few days before I cut it and it works great with longer hair as well (it's not just for super short hair).
