It works great on my long wavy hair. And the shipping was fast to Canada.

Product Rating: 5 this thing is magic
Reviewer: Christina from Elk Grove, IL  Wed Apr 04 2007

After I shower and blow dry my hair, its really frizzy and huge. Most straighteners take forever to heat up and then don't even work well with my thick hair. This straightener, though, gets hot really quickly, and because it gets super hot, it works really well on my hair and makes it flatter and shiny. My friend had bought this straightener and I used it once and loved it and asked to use it all the time. Then I finally bought my own. It's definitely worth the money and I was so excited when it came in. I use it all the time and I get so many compliments on my hair. You need this straightener its amazing!

Product Rating: 5 Is this really MY hair?!?!?!?
Reviewer: Christine from Willimantic, CT  Mon Apr 02 2007

I have extremely wavy, thick hair that I've been straightening with a Maxiglide for the past three years. It works well enough, but with the Solia I was amazed at how straight and shiny my hair was. Also, with the Solia then ends of my hair didn't look as frizzy and damaged as with my old straightener and I don't need to do touch-ups as much.

Product Rating: 3 Not as great as I thought.
Reviewer: Peggy from Florida  Mon Apr 02 2007

I'm not as impressed as I thought I would be by this iron. It's pretty expensive for what it does. The Sedu seems to work much better. I got this because it has the rounded plates for flips, etc. and the Sedu doesn't. This one doesn't make my hair as smooth or shiney. Maybe this size is too big. I just don't think it's worth the price.

Product Rating: 5 Solia Review
Reviewer: Janna from Indiana  Mon Apr 02 2007

After being told by my hairdresser I should purchase a Chi flatiron, I did some research and came across the Solia Tourmaline. I was wary of all the reviews on the Chi irons breaking after about a year and not having an adjustable heat settings.

So I decided to get the Solia and I love it. The swivel cord makes it easy to handle in either my right or left hand, because I can adjust the heat setting I don't feel like I'm "frying" my hair and since it came with a free heat mat/pouch, I can travel with it with no problems. I HIGHLY recommend this item!!!

I received my solia flat iron last week and used it right away on my naturally curly/wavy hair...in 1 hour i had it all straight and it was gorgeous, shiny etc...
I used it again 3 days later and did my whole head in 40 minutes this time...this iron is EXCELLENT, i highly recommend it. I'm 110% satisfied with this purchase.
www.folica.com was great, I received the iron in record time. THANK YOU

Iīve been using this product for almost a year.
Itīs simply incredible, amazing... my hair just changed!
For me, two years ago it was imposible to think that I could do my hair by myself, and now itīs a reality!.

I recomend this product if youīre looking for a change in the way you look.

Product Rating: 5 straight for days.....
Reviewer: lauren   Tue Feb 13 2007

this straightener gets really hot and cuts time in half. my hair stayed straight for almost 4 days with little touch up. i don't think this would be good for people with fine or thin hair .

Product Rating: 5 Solia Tourmaline Ceramic Ion Flat Iron (1-3/4")
Reviewer: Tanya from Los Angeles, CA  Fri Feb 09 2007

This product is fantastic. I have had several other expensive ceramic flat irons and this one if by far more superior to the others.
For one, it leaves my hair soft and silky smooth. The others dried out the hair and the ends.
Two, it takes half the time to use.
Three, my hair stays perfectly straight until I wash it again. The others would require next day or even same day touch ups because the hair would start to frizz or curl.
Four, the ceramic plates are smooth and don't snag my hair, not even in the corners. Plus, the plates move as you run your hair through them which helps keep the heat distribution even and maintains a strong grip of the hair.
Bottom line, I LOVE THIS THING!I strongly recommend it.

Product Rating: 5 Incredible!
Reviewer: Leticia from Dallas TX  Mon Jan 15 2007

I've used other straightners before but will never again. I'm hooked on the Solia. My hair is naturally straight but a bit course and the Solia gives my hair a silky, smooth look. I use it daily and it does not damage my hair. I absolutely love it.

Product Rating: 4 Great product !!!
Reviewer: Jelena Mandusic from Atlanta, GA  Mon Jan 15 2007

Solia's flat iron is really awesome, esp with a price tag of less than $100.00. I've purchased other brand name irons for much more, but none of them worked as well as this one. This gets my hair really flat. One thing that I didn't like, and this may or may not be to blame on the iron, is that my hair looked REALLY! parched after I was done using this iron. I had to add smoothing product, lots of it. But all in all this is a super product and I give it 4 stars. I definitely recommend this product to others.

Product Rating: 5 Love this flat iron!
Reviewer: Mende P. from Maryland  Fri Jan 12 2007

I have medium length, curly hair and this iron works like a champ! I had a T3 before but blew its circuit on a trip to Germany so I needed a new iron. I fully intended on getting the same thing but saw the reviews for this one (and it was cheaper!!) so I decided to try something new - and boy am I glad I did. It easily straightens and dosn't leave creases at the ends like some others but softly curls it under, over or leaves it perfectly straight on the ends (depending on how you turn it). Also, my hair does not get greasy after a day like it did with my T3 but easily lasts 3 days looking fresh - which is mostly why I love it so much. You won't regret this purchase.

I've had the Solia 1" flat iron for 2 years and just bought the 1-3/4" for my daughter after tiring of her lesser quality appliances breaking. The variable heat settings are a big plus, and the product performs beautifully. Solia has proven to make quality products.

Reviewer: Suzanne from Houston  Wed Dec 27 2006

I used a chi for years & it was great but I wanted something that would be a little better & larger plates than the 1 inch. It was good but not great. My hair looked silky unlike the CHI but I had a problem with it heating up to 450 as my hair is very long & curly I needed it that hot. I also had a problem getting close to my scalp. It would leave crinkles close to my scalp. I am returning it for the solia 1 1/4 plate. The Folica representative said it is the large plates that keep me from getting close to the scalp. I am sure the smaller one will be great. I really did like the way it made my hair feel silky and very straight. But I would recommend if you have very curly hair to get the smaller plate.

i've been using a fairly inexpensive Wet-2-Straight product for the past fews months, but have not been satisfied with the results. I decided to splurge and, after reading other reviews, decided on this product and I LOVE IT! I have no idea how well the others work (i.e., Chi, etc) but I am a firm believer in this product.

I'm new to flat iron usage because I have naturally straight hair, but it really helps with my fly aways. I use it with hair protector because I don't want to burn my hair.
