I was skeptical to buy this one because my stylist recommended another brand, but I'm so glad I bought this one. I love that i don't have to dry my hair fully before using iron. It leaves my hair as straight as if i had the Japanese Straightening done. My daughter also loves how straight her extreamly curly hair stays after I use this iron on her hair.
Don't Buy It !

I can't believe it. I've spent so much time doing the research on this iron. I decided to buy it because of all the positive reviews and stuff. I'm Asian and has black wavy hair and kinda thick. But it's not like extremely curly or anything. When I use it, it works just like my Vidal session iron that costs $15. I mean I had to iron the same part of hair 4-5 times till it gets straight. Also, in the back, it leaves bumps on my hair. It also doesn't make my hair shiny but dry and crispy-looking. I spent so much money on it and I expects it to work a lot better than this. I tried my friend's iron(don't remember the brand) and I have to go through my hair only once and it becomes straight and perfect. This Solia one doesn't seem like what other people said in the review at all. I recommend you to go to the store and try it when you want to buy hair straightener. There's no way you will know how well it works till you try. I decided to return mine. It's not worth $88 at all. So Upset

I borrowed my neighbor's Solia ceramic flat iron when my $25 cermaic flat iron broke in half. After that first use, I was hooked! I got so many compliments on my hair...my husband said it looked just like I came from the salon! I had to get one of my own! Now I don't have to go to the salon as often. I've saved both time and money with this purchase.
blow drying straight is better

The Solia flat iron is high quality but it makes my ends look frizzy and it doesn't leave my hair nearly as straight and shiny as blow drying does(which blow drying unfortunately takes more time). I have thick wavy shoulder length and healthy hair. I will probably only use the straightener for quick fixes now.

The iron itself is bigger than depicted in the picture so I was a little skeptical when I received it but when I tried it out OH MY! It works like a dream. I don't need to put any anti-friz cream in my hair. After straightening my hair (which takes considerably less time to do from about 1 hour to about 25 min), my hiar is softer and sleeker and straighter than before. I reccomed this product to anyone with thick, frizzy hair.

I really like the solia I have thick frizzy hair that is curly and kinda straight mixed together. Other flat irons had made it straight but never took away the frizz. This makes my hair as straight as I want it to be. The only thing is my hair has had a little breakage, I guess that is to be expected...Overall pretty good...I get alot of compliments on having good hair now
This is my 2nd one!!!

I absolutely LOVE this straightener! It is by far the best and I recently bought my 2nd one. The first one was still fine but I had been using it for one and a half years and had dropped it a few times and cracked the outside casing. Even with all that abuse, it still worked great. I have very coarse long and naturally curlly hair. I also go and have blonde streaks put in it every 6 weeks or so. This solia makes my hair so soft and shiny and super straight. I can straighten the whole mess by myself in about 10 min. People who don't know me really well are shocked when they find out my hair is really curly ;-) I would recommend this iron for anyone. I started using it when I was 12 and quickly learned how to do it by myself. It doesn't burn your hair either and heats up really fast.

I received my Solia 1 3/4 inch flatiron today. I like the way it makes my hair look. I have tried other flatrions (Conair, Chi, HotTools), this is the best so far. My hair is curly, coarse, and tends to be frizzy. Not with this flatiron. My hair is soft and sleek. Shipping was fast too!
Works great on my daughters hair

My daughter has extremely thick and somewhat corse hair. If it dries on it's own she has a head full of irregular curls. I am still getting the hang of using it on her hair wet. I think perhaps I am trying to iron too much hair at once especially when the hair is wet. If I take smaller parcels of hair, I don't have to go over them again. She is very happy with the results.

I loved it!!! Works really well. I have frizzy curly hair and now i can really say my hair is straight. To all those ladys that are complaining about reading this reviews and saying "I shouldnt have listen to the reviews", number one you dont have too. Folica.com was the best thing that could have happened to my hair.

I've looked at this item for over a year while starting to grow my hair back and finally decided to buy it. I have always had baby thin, dry, hard to manage and style hair that gets limp by the end of the day, and is full of static. I combined this flat iron with the purchase of a good tourmaline hair dryer and my hair has not been this healthy and easy to manage since I was a teenager. All of the above problems are gone, and I can even get away with not washing it every day, even with using product. And, I use *less* product with these two tools to get better results, and you can't beat that. The dynamic alignment feature is a must for anyone with my hair type, I felt the difference with the first use. I think Solia is the only one that has that.
The biggest difference is that the styling lasts all day - which is a miracle for my hair. I swear it has improved the *health* of my hair. I'm going to get the smaller one for travel, no question!
If you want a great flat iron, this is the one to buy!!!!!! It is worth every penny and more, so go GET IT!!!

I was a bit unsure about paying this much for a flat iron but that changed after I used it the first time. I could not have chosen a better one. I was using a cheap flat iron from Wal-Mart and it left my hair super dry and it took a long time to straighten my hair. The solia cut my styling time almost in half and worked so much better. I have thick curly hair and it’s frizzy unless I put lots of product in it. I also use a heat protectant spray with my flat iron and this leaves/keeps my hair shiny and soft. I would recommend this flat iron to anyone who is looking for a new flat iron. It is definitely worth the money.

I have only had this flat iron for a little less than a month, but I am very pleased so far. I had the true ceramic pro before and was not very pleased with it. I had read good reviews on the solia flat iron and so far I feel I have made a good choice. I have really long, thick hair so the 1-3/4" helps!
Fabulous Flat Iron for Great Price

Just got this flat iron, and it's really great. I've used a couple of different flat irons in the past (Chi, Wigo, Hot Tools) and this is definitely the best so far. It heats up really quickly and straighted my hair much faster than my last flat iron (Hot Tools Ceramic). I have pretty curly and frizzy hair, I didn't even need to use the highest heat setting. It also cut the time it takes to flat iron my hair in half.
The best thing about it is that the ceramic plates automatically adjust when you put pressure on them, so the flat iron doesn't pull or tug at your hair at all. I've noticed my ends are much smoother and seem healthier than before. I was deciding between this and the Sedu, and I'm definitely happy with my purchase, especially since it was approx $30 cheaper. Definitely worth every penny!!!

This is by far the best straightener I have owned-- and I have owned quite a few. My hair is not only long, thick and course, but wavy. This straightener works like a charm... You would think I was born with bone straight, silky hair. Great to use on damp hair--cuts out blow drying altogether...I highly recommend this to anyone who wants perfectly straight smooth hair.
