A co-worker had told me about this product after I raved about her hair. she said it was all owed to the Solia hair straightner. I love it!! I have very fine hair that has a part time job as a humidity detector. When it's humid outside, I look like Monica on 'Friends' (when she was in the islands). This product has really helped to straighten out the frizz and keep it that way all day long. No frizz, no curly-- out of control hair. It was a little bit more-- but totally worth it. I tried a couple of cheaper straight irons-- and they didn't last long. You won't be sorry.

I got the 1 1/4 inch and then needed another iron, so to try something different I got the 1 3/4 inch version. They are both brilliant irons but if you're trying to decide betweent the 2, go for the thinner version. It just seems to work better.

This straightener is the best I have ever had. It works for my hair which is thick and wavey and very hard to straighten. It takes about 30 minutes and its straight. My hair hangs to between my shoulder blades. My daughter who has hair to her waste and lots of it, loves it also. Makes her hair shiney and very pretty. Thanks

I was hesitant to spend almost $100 on a flat iron. I am so glad I did. I can't believe the results.
I live in Florida, and in this heat and humidity the Solia gets my hair straight and smooth, and it lasts for days. I have thick, curly hair and the individual hairs are very fine, typical Irish hair. It is mid-back length, and broken in many places from clips and scruchies. Without styling, what I usually have is a frizzy ponytail, with zig-zag curls and some corkscrews with a fuzz all over. Just awful. Gel helped, but not much.
I have never been able to get my hair to look like the Solia makes it look without spending 2 hours and at least $60 in a salon. The Solia also works really fast, about 10-15 minutes to do my whole head. I got much better results from totally dry hair. When I tried it damp, it frizzed because the iron didn't dry it completely.
You definitely need some kind of protecting spray. I bought BioSilk, and I am not too happy with it. It's sticky, the spray clogs, and every time you use it, it runs down the outside of the can. A mess. And I think it dulls your hair.
I have had other cheaper flat irons. I will never ever use one again. The results are totally superior with the Solia, I guess from the high heat.
I love my hair now. Buy it. It will save you a fortune on products and salons. The free mat is great, and necessary.
best if used occasionally

This is a good straightener.. but i wowuld not reccomend using it everday. It dried out my hair and made it feel brittle after about 6 months of everyday use. I would say use it only occasinally. :)
Fingers crossed!

This flat iron really is nice. It doesn't tug or pull and I can straighten my hair in half the time I could with my old iron. It's a bit pricey--well worth the money if it holds up, but I've heard from several people lately that it's the nature of flat irons to work for a while and then just die. So I have my fingers crossed that this iron will last a long time! If it doesn't, then it's back to the cheapos for me!
Awesome

This straightener works very well. Little to no pulling of your hair, and very little damage done to the hair. I love it and it definitely cuts my styling time down as well.

this is a effective straigtener... yet it dries out your hair over a period of time. After 4 months of use, my hair was completley fried.
I love this!!

I live in FL where it is very humid, and unfortunately I have hair that loves to friz up, not anymore. My Solia makes my hair so straight and smooth even when I walk outside it remains that way! PLus I'm not a morning person, I have thick hair, my Solia cuts the time in half!
I highly recommend this product.
okay, not great

Well, I used the Solia flat iron on my wavy hair. At first it was stick straight and I was so happy to buy it, but in just 30 minutes my hair was back to wavy. Even my friend tried it on her straighter hair. In just 45 minutes it was back to average. Try it if you want, but just warning you.
Better than my first one

Well i do really like this iron and i feel it is better for my hair but i also feel that it is a little over priced... my first one lasted for 6 years and still works and it only cost 40 (hot tools) I just wanted a ceramic one cuz i have long thick hair and it was getting damaged..
very good iron

i really liked this iron....it was recommended to me by a customer service representative at Folica.com and I couldn't be any more pleased. It is light & easy to use....and it even made my hair feel healthier.
I just had one, little complaint about this product (however, it may be just a personal preference of mine), but I thought that the 1-3/4" plate was too small, which in turn was a little time consuming....I already have a HAI iron which has a 2-1/4" plate and I happen to find that it is a little easier and faster to use. Nevertheless, if combining the power of the Solia with the plate width of the HAI iron i have, it would be a perfect thing!!
great until...

This product is beyond excellent except that I think it does stop working after a while. I have frizzy hair that my friends used to say looked like I stuck my finger in a socket! It only takes about 20 minutes to straighten my hair. But after a year and a half it stopped working. I still think it's worth it-that's why I'm on my second iron.
