I rcvd my Solia Iron today. This is my second one. I have the Pink Limited Edition one I got 1 1/2 years ago, it still works fab but I wanted a thicker one.
Did my hair and it looks gorgeous, healthy, and shiny. My hair is usually a big poofy, curly disaster lol...
Totally worth it ladies!!

SEDU - BETTER!

I had the Sedu (older model, not the new one that just came out), for about 2 years and I LOVED IT. However, like most electronics I wore out the Sedu. I decided to try the Solia, and the SOLIA does not compare! If you are debating on purchasing Solia or Sedu, I would spend the extra dollars on the SEDU any day. Well thats my input! Happy Shopping! =)

I have used a Chi, a FHI, and several other well-known brands. A friend of mine, who has extremely gorgeous hair told me her secret is this flat iron. When my old one finally broke I ordered off of Folica.com. It came quickly and works amazing! I believe it is better than any of my other flat irons and cost less! How can you beat that? I have hair about 3 inches past my shoulders and it literally takes me 5 mins to do it now, with this flat iron. It looks so healthy, smooth - just gorgeous! This is the flat iron to buy!
take it from a girl thick, unruly (curly)hair!!

This is definitely the BEST flat iron out there. I have thick, obnoxious, long hair, and this iron makes it sleek and smooth for days. Even if my hair gets a little wet from rain and such, it will hold the straight texture, and i just have to touch it up a bit.
I've had this for 2 1/2 years and I cannot live without it!It's worth every penny!
Awesome results

One thing. Please don't use it without a heat serum to protect you hair. I used Bedhead control freak level 3 serum. AWESOME! If you're using it wet-straight, use a low level heat or your hair will pouf a little (use mousse to tame it if necessary) It's nice, heats up fast, really spreads the heat though the different hairs and throughout the piece of hair you put through it. It's handy, great size=convenient to carry and gets the job done quickly. My hair is about 3 inches longer than shoulder length when it's straight and it takes me about 15-20 minutes and I'm new at straightening my hair. It's really great and quick to use for touch-ups in the morning or just before that big party. Definitely get it if possible.
Best for Stubborn Hair!

I have very stubborn Mexican curly hair and this straightner works great! I highly recommend it! It gets very hot which is highly needed to get those wacky curls out.
Didn't last for very long

This flat iron did the job it said it would: my hair was straight and I was happy with the results. My big problem is that the iron just didn't last. I don't straighten my hair that often (2-3 times a month max), but the iron started to fail after a little over a year. By the time I'd owned the iron for two years, it had stopped working completely. (In fact it died the night before I had an important interview.)
Although this iron does what it says, for the amount of money I paid and the number of uses I got, it wasn't worth it. I spent the money expecting to get a product that lasts, and I certainly didn't get that.
Solia 1-3/4" - very good

I have this Solia for 2 months now and me and my teen daughter are using it. I have Brazilian straightening and it take me 5 minutes to get my hair to look smooth and straight. use the max heat for best results and don't use on wet hair.
GREAT FLAT IRON

This flat iron is the best, I bought one about 2-3 yrs ago for my daughter and it is so awesome. The iron still works and has been through chaos, but still works flawlessly. I feel as if I had to buy another flat iron it would be due to wear and I would not hesitate to buy it...because I know it's such an awesome flat iron.

I am currently using this product for a few months now. I love how it heats up in like a minute to really high temperatures. I have wavy hair so I sweep it thru a section once, and it's straight. My hair becomes silky smooth, but of course you would need some styling product to keep the frizz down. It stays straight until I shower. My last product was a Sedu, and itz as good as that one but a tad cheaper. Hopefully it last more than year.

this product is AMAZING!!! i have very thick, puffy, curly hair and the solia iron made it stick straight and really soft without making it oily!! i live in a VERY humid area and the solia still makes it stay way better than the chi or paul mitchell!! i have 3 flat irons- Paul Mitchell, Chi, and the solia!!! ratings for which one is better -
1) Solia!!
2) Paul Mitchell
3) chi
The chi sucks compared 2 what the solia can do!!!
Love it. Have had it for 2 years!

I've had this hair straightener for over 2 years now and STILL Love it! I've used other types before like the Chi and Wigo but this one is the best! I just need to turn it on before I change and by the time I'm done it's alread hot enough for me to straighten my hair. Takes me only 10 minutes and I'm good to go. My friend came over and used it one day and loved it so much she bought one too! She had others as well but now they're just collecting dust! I definitely recommend this. :)

I did a ton of research before I bought the Solia. I Looked at many others and found terrible reviews with parts breaking or malfunctioning. This iron is great! I have had it for about a month and just love it. It's easy to use and looks great! I'm very happy with my purchase!

Absolute best "wide" plate ceramic flat iron

I purchased my very first ceramic flat iron through Folica.com many years ago. My first was the 1" Solia because I did not think I needed such a huge cumbersome flat iron. Needless to say, I did. I have extremely thick and course hair, and its very long (to mid back). While the Solia product was very effective, it took me forever to finish my entire head of hair. It was too time consuming so I went back to Folica and purchased a the widest plate Sedu had based on customer reviews and popularity of the product. While the 1½" Sedu was great and got the job done, But I wanted to give Solia one more try and I purchased the 1-3/4" Solia Tourmaline Ceramic Ion Flat Iron. Its the BEST investment ive made thus far. It takes me less then 20 minutes to finish my whole head and its straight as a pin. It makes my hair much more shiny and the shine lasts much longer with Solia. The best part of it all is that you only need to go over the same piece of hair one or two times before its straight, as opposed to going over it four or five times and risk burning your hair and causing damage.
I truly endorse this product as a high quality flat iron that fulfills its promise. I took a chance in buying this expensive product not knowing what i would get and I got JUST what I was looking for.

Best of Three Brands: Sedu-Infrashine-Solia!

I got the Solia 1-3/4 after reading it goes up to 450 degrees. I have extremely thick, very curly hair that frizzes up like Bozo's even with blow drying! Anyone who has done my hair has ALWAYS commented it was the thickest head of hair they have ever seen.I used to get chemical straightening which I do not recommend to anyone reading this- a good flat iron does a better job, believe me, and is far less damaging and less expensive in the long run!
I started with a Sedu- not bad, but the hair recurled within the day and it took forever to get it straight. It only went to 250 degrees, that was the problem.
I then got a nice Infrashine that heats to 400 degrees. It was definitely better than the Sedu but my hair still required many passes (4-5 per section of hair) to get straight.
Recently, I decided to see if I could do better. I just bought the Solia based on the reviews on Folica. It straightens my hair with less effort and on the first 1-2 passes. Its seems to me that sometimes it gets hotter than others- I always use the highest setting- but when its good and hot it's a Godsend! I recommend it over the other two brands hands down. Also-Some tips for others with "big hair" like me: I figured out that wearing a shower cap every night to prevent re-curling the hair from dampness was a big help.Sounds old lady-ish but it works! I do alittle retouch every morning because I am obsessed with getting my hair pin stright. I also use Biosilk to protect the hair when I do it after shampooing. And, believe it or not, I found another product that is inexpensive (Razac Hair Oil) that reduces the volume or bulk of your hair dramatically. Just don't overdo it or it will look greasy!
