Just used it for the first time and I was extremely happy with the results. My very curly hair has become Silk shiny strait. There is a temperature control so you don't burn your hair, and it's easy to handle. So far so good!!

This a great iron. My hair is very frizzy and it makes it completely strait and it stays that way until i take a shower! Even after i sleep! I love this iron.
Solia Profession Ceramic Ion Flat Iron (1-3/4")

This iron did work well on my naturally curly (frizzy) hair. My hairdresser had recommended a professional iron since my hair is thick and coarse and it takes a lot of heat to straighten it in a reasonable amount of time. I'm glad I took her advice. Shipping was really quick. I was skeptical about ordering since I hadn't heard of Folica before but the service was really good. I would recommend it.
What a waste of money

Seriously, everyone else who wrote reviews for this flat iron must work for Solia. This flat iron SUCKS!!! My Revlon flat iron works better and it cost $20 and I didnt have to wait three days to get it. Are serious? My hair is no more straighter or shinier, it actually looks more dry... Unless there is some magic serum, or whatever that you're supposed to use with this flat iron...alone...it sucks. My hand is tired as **** from squeezing the plates so that they will meet. Waste of money!!!!
Amazing !!

This flat iron gets super HOT !!! I love it. I use it on 450 degrees and only have to go over my hair once. I have multi-ethnic very thick frizzy/curly hair.
Money well spent !!! Thanks Folica !!!
Great!

I have very curly and frizzy hair. I had tried a flat iron from Sally's by Ceramic Tools, but it was horrible. It pulled my hair and it took forever to straighten my hair. With this amazing iron by Solia my hair is straight, shiny and beautiful in less than fifteen minutes and I have long hair! The best part is that it stays straight even outside in the humid Florida heat. This iron is a great deal because it is light weight and it makes straitening my hair easy. I highly recommend the 1-3/4" inch flat iron by Solia.
A good one

I've been straightening my hair for over 25 years (anyone remember the old GE Curl Tamer?) and I have to say, I've tried everything out there. I have thick corkscrew curls, and I know how to straighten it so that people have no idea my hair was anything but pin straight. The Solia is a very good product. PROS: It's hot. Hotter than most of them out there. Heats up fast. It's easy to handle. It's light. CONS: That "Dynamic Alignment System" isn't anything to write home about. I'd rather the plates just match up. However, it's really no big deal, you can live with it. I bought this iron because I'm jumping on the "ceramic is better for your hair" bandwagon. But truth be told, nothing does the job like those old metal plates! However, this product comes real close, and you won't be sorry. It's a good value for the money. Tip: always use a nice finishing serum, and your hair will look like silk, no matter how you abuse it!

I spent a lot of time researching hair straightners and I finally decided to go with this one. It is truly amazing!! I have thick, naturally wavy hair and with this flat iron I can straighten my hair perfectly in a matter of minutes. I definitely reccommend this product and the cost is not bad at all compared to the value!!!
This iron is wonderful!

I have had this flat iron for a couple of days now and I love it! I have naturally frizzy curly hair but it straightens pretty easy so I have always bought the cheap flat irons. I started getting split ends because of the heat damage. This is my first ceremic iron and my hair feels so soft and shiny. I would certainly recommend this flat iron to anyone. It's awesome!
I can hardly believe this!

I've owned this iron for about a week now (ordered it from folica.com) and I can hardly believe how straight my hair becomes with it! I should say that I have very thick, very full shoulder-lenght hair that is spiral-curly (so a little bit less curly on top, and very curly at the ends). It would always look so gorgeous when I had it blow-dried and I was always trying to get the salon look on a day to day basis, but I would never even get close (which isn't surprising, considering my blow-drying skills). With the Solia, I got great hair in under an hour *on my first try*! This was something I had never acheived even with 2 hours of blowdrying! My hair still looks better when done by a professional, but this iron has far exceeded my expectations.
don't believe the hype

I bought this iron based on the great reviews, however, this iron was a major disappointment. For $98.00 I want a flat iron that acutally grabs the hair when you use it. This iron does not do that. It heats up fast and will straighten your hair, but you have apply a lot of pressure and go over the hair several times for it to work. Would have been worth the money if it could grab the hair more tightly.
OMG!

this straightener is amazing.. i am on the swim team so my hair is pretty gross from 6 years of chlorine damage (i was in the pool today too cos i'm on my college team) and my hair is really dried out, frizzy, and extremely curly (like ringlets).. i usually straightened my hair with a gold iron and it made my hair even more frizzy and dry feeling.. after using this iron tonight my hair feels so soft and is so straight, shiny, and healthy looking. this DEF beats my $20 straightener that im gonna give away.. def worth the money.. i love it and highly recommend it
I was wrong about this iron

I sent in a review just a few days ago stating that I was unhappy with my flat iron and that it was not worth the $98.00. Since I had only tried it once, I gave it another try and to my suprise, I loved the way it left my hair this time. Since then I have used it two other times and it leaves my hair straight and it is not frizzy and it is smooth and silky. I am not sure if I did not have it hot enough or what, but if you did not like the way it left your hair the first time, give it a second chance.

My hair is extremely thick, curly, frizzy, etc. I used this straightener for the first time tonight and it was awesome. My hair is soo straight and frizz-free and it feels thin! It heats up soo fast too. One thing that's not good is the plates are a little unprotected so you might burn your skin a little bit. Otherwise, it's awesome for anyone with unruly hair that wants it straight!
Not worth $98.00

I just got my solia and I am so unhappy with the results. It did not leave my hair any better that my Gold N Hot, which is only $35.00. The tips of my hair did not stay straight and an hour later I noticed my hair had some waves in it. I had to go over my hair several times and it did not even stay straight. I do not recommend this iron because I do not believe it to be worth what it is priced for. Trust me, save your money.

Let me just say this is by far the best hair straightner I've used. Much more sturdier than the CHI, it's even better made. I live in Houston, it's hot, humid and muggy all the time, but with the Solia no more frizzies or fly aways and my hair is silky smooth. I love it!! I have long, thick thick hair, when I'm done straighting it, it looks wonderful. This is definitely in my opinion a much better buy than a CHI, which mine only lasted for about 7 months before it stopped working.
