This is a magic wand.

My daughter and I both have thick kinky hair and in addition mine is graying and the gray tends to kink up even more. We call this iron "the magic wand" because it has totally transformed our hair. My husband could not believe how the gray seemed to disappear after I ironed my hair. The very first day I used this, I met my daughter for a Christmas lunch. When I walked into the restaurant I could see the surprise in her eyes. She thought I had been for an expensive hair treatment at a high-end salon.
Excellent iron!

I purchased this iron last week and it is absolutely amazing! In only 10 minutes my hair was transformed from wavy and out of control to straight and sleek. I recommend this iron to anyone. It's worth every single penny.

I have tried all the flat irons avaliable at your local drug store but this iron surpasses them all and worth every penny. I have a mix of ethinic hair(cajan background) and asian hair and to flatten out my super curly hair was always a nightmare. Now I totally look forward to working on my hair because this iron has made it so easy and the best part...... my hair is super straight just like out of the salon and super super soft and when there is moister in air my hair reamins straight with out fizzing up. I highly recommend this product it really does work wonders.
Love it!

I switched from the Solano Saphire Flat iron to the Solia and I love it! I loved the Solano and had it for 4 years, but needed a change. The Solia doesn't make my hair poker straight like the solano, which I like since I have very thick hair and I like it to have some volume. It doesn't have the comb attachment that the Solano did, but I don't miss it.
More for your money....

I am a long time user of ceramic straightening irons, but I never had invested in expensive ones (over $30). Finally my last one died, so I decided to do what my hairdresser has been telling me about, and invest in a more pricey model. Well I did. I purchased a Solia model and it works great. My hair looks so shiny, it works quickly and I get a ton of compliments on how my hair looks and feels. It is definently worth it to spend a few extra bucks and get that kind of satisfaction!
it is great!!!!!

But not anymore! The only other flat iron I have ever owned was a piece of junk. It took ten minutes to heat up, was never hot enough, and left my hair one big frizzy mess. Then I borrowed my roommate's slightly nicer one and when I moved out, I decided to upgrade. The Solia is great. I can do my thick, shoulder length hair in ten minutes, including the time it takes to heat up. I love the adjustable temperature setting and the way the plates have rounded edges so that you can "curl" the ends under or out if you want to. Best flat iron I've ever used.
i made one earlier

Can't Compare to the CHI

My sister got a chi 2 inch turbo for christmas. I thought it was a little expensive so I decided to do some research before I purchased it. For the past 2 weeks I have been reading reviews on straight irons and narrowed it down to either the chi or the solia. Last weekend I used my sisters CHI and my hair stayed perfectly straight even in the rain. It looked so shiny and just perfect. I should have just bought the CHI, but i decided to listen to the reviews I read on this page. I recieved it yesterday, and i must say it did nothing special to my hair at all. My hair was straight, but looked nothing like it did using the CHI. I am returning my solia and purchasing the chi. It is so worth the extra 50 dollars!

Takes some getting used to but a wonderful product. Works best on dry hair & can handle barely damp hair (Hair dryer's still necessary in my opinion.)Great for styling thick long hair. No gel is needed for straightening hair. But takes a lot of practice to make curls since the width is so large. Curls won't last the entire day unless a good amount of gel is used.
Great Product!!! Great Price!

This Solia Flat Iron has been fantastic! I bought it for my teenage daughter for Christmas, and her hair has never looked better. The iron is very easy to use and heats very quickly. My daughter had hard to straighten thick hair. Her hair has NEVER LOOKED BETTER! Even when she got caught in the rain, her hair remained straight. I noticed also that her hair has a lot more shine to it since using the flat iron. She loves to use it, too. Thanks, Folica!
Great Purchase!!!!

I love my Solia flat iron! It takes me about 5 minutes in the morning to do my hair after I blowdry and if I don't have time the following day to shower, I can just flat iron it and it looks great! I also purchased one for my 13 year old niece and she thinks it is the greatest thing!!! She has very curly hair. It takes her about 10 minutes in the morning to get all her hair straight. I was thinking of purchasing a back up for myself just in case something were to happen to the one I have!
works great!

I have very thick hair that ranges from thin and straight to coarse and curly. I always get comments from the salon saying that I have ALOT of hair. This flat iron takes just seconds to heat up to 400 degrees and it takes me about 15-20 mins to do my hair. It works great! I would recommend this product to those of you with unruly hair like mine.

I've had this iron for a few weeks now, and I love how flat and sleek it gets my hair! It works way better than the $40 ceramic one I had before. It heats up fast, and has adjustable heat, even though I keep it at the hottest setting. I would totally recommend this.

I have had my Solia Flat Iron for about two weeks now and am getting more familiar with it. So far it has been a very good product and I am very pleased with the results. It gets extremely hot and it does not pull or rip at my hair. I am happy with the product and I am impressed with all the other reviews. I hope that it will remain as fabulous as it is now for a long time to come.

Being a woman of color, it's very costly and most of the time a long day in the "beauty shop". Over the years I have over processed, under processed if that's possible, dyed, fried, and caused more damage to my hair than one can imagine. About three years ago I decided to go natural, meaning no chemicals. I wear braids ALL the time, but I needed a change and researched flat irons that would make my hair look and feel like a relaxed "do". This iron is WONDERFUL!!!!!! My hair is very coarse, so I did need to warm press first, but that is fine. I used just a little of PHYTO ultra shine smoothing serum then proceeded to flat iron my hair. It has sooo much body and shine, I know I'm going to retire the braids for awhile!!!!!

I purchased this for my daughter & she says its the same one her hairdresser uses in the salon. She says it will save her alot of money since she wont have to go to the salon as often. Great gift.

ive only used this striaghtener twice, but so far everything is fine. It heats up quickly, and works well on my long, thick hair. I've straightened friends hair with it who have thinner hair, and it works equally as well. The straightener met all my expectations and in my opinion, is worth the money. You might be able to find out cheaper however, this is worth the money.
Not worth the money

I had been using a $15 Conair flat iron and decided to upgrade. I could not wait to get this expensive so called marvel. I have been using it for 3 weeks and I can honestly say, I see no difference between my cheap iron and this very expensive one. In addition, it does not do a good job on wet hair either, like it claims. If I had it to do over I would not spend $98 on this iron.
