When I first read the reviews for the solia hair straightener last year in october, i immediately fell in love with it. I new i had to have it. So it was the only thing i asked for my birthday. And i used it for prom as well, in the pictures above. Considering i live in florida, where its humid, my hair is thick, curly, and long. It gets real frizzy. But with solia i dont use any hair shiners or softeners or anything, my hair just comes out thin straight. I love it. But theres another one that is as good as solia. And its the maxiglide. I reccommend it to all types of hair. And when i mean all types, i mean ALL TYPES.

You guys have GOT to try this AMAZING flat iron...I never thought my wild mane could ever be so straight and silky! The Solia 1 3/4" has totally changed my life forever!!
My teen years were troubled with name calling and bigotry. I had no friends and no guy in his right mind would touch me, even with a 10 foot pole.
But now, thanks to Solia, all my troubles are over! Me and my new Solia are totally BFF!!

When I received the product, the look is not very impressive. I even questioned whether it is ceremic plate or just painted ceremic surface. No matter what it made from, it works so well on my thick curly hair. I have been looking for such a quick and easy method to wear my hair straight for a long time and finally I find it! Highly recommended!!

I just got my Solia 2 days ago and love it already! I just had my hair done last weekend and had a flat iron, the Chi, used on my hair for the 1st time. I could not believe the difference in my hair after she used the iron. I have wavy, frizzy hair and have all my life. I just dealt with it mostly trying every product out there to tame my frizzy hair. Nothing ever worked. But, now the Solia is in my life and all has changed. My hair is so soft and no frizzies!!! It wasn't hard to use and I was done pretty fast. I researched for a day or two of which flat iron to buy, the lady that does my hair could sell me a Chi for $165 but I said no way, I'll find something cheaper that I feel is the same quality. Well after all my researching I decided to go with the Solia as there we so many reviews about the Chi not working after a few months or so, I couldn't have that...I love how my hair looks now and would hate to have to either get it fixed or wait for a new one. I feel this one is great quality after seeing no reviews of it not working after a few months. Everything I read was very positive about it. I say if your looking for one and have had the same problem I had all my life, then take a chance and get this. You will love it and everyone is telling me how great my hair looks now..It feels good to finally have normal hair and people notice. Happy ironing!!!

This is the best flat iron ever. I have been using the hot tool ones and it stopped working, so I decided to research about a good one i could invest my money on. After carefully reviewing every flat iron out there I decided on the Solia. I recieved it yesterday afternoon to my job and today i decided to do my hair. I had just washed it and it was damp. I was so surprised to see how my hair was coming out. I have very curly hair and it is very long (to the middle of my back). It was super straight. The only way i had achived that kind of straight is if my beautician blow dries my hair. If I could put my pix up here i would. I just recommend it to anyone. If you are looking flat iron this is the one to buy.

i have naturally curly hair and this iron does the trick for me after i blow my hair out! it leaves it stick straight and so shiny and healthy looking. i get so many compliments on my hair and how good it looks ever since i purchased this straightener!! highly recommended!!

This Solia flat iron is wonderful!!! I have very thick hair and my Solia gets my hair very straight. I gave my other two flat irons away. I recommend this product to everyone with hard to straighten hair. Believe me, this really works and I am very happy.

I have been using Flat Irons for almost 7 years and have had/used CHI's, SOLIA's, and SEDU's. This is by far the worst for my hair type. I have thick, coarse, wavy hair and this iron pulls my hair like crazy and it is very painful. I bought this iron because it was wider than what I usually go with but it pulls my hair if I try to go over a section wider than about one inch. I don't suggest this to anyone with thick hair... it hurts!!!!!!!!

i bought this straightener just over a year ago after reading all the great reviews it got. i LOVED it at first. it made my thick & wavy hair shiny, smooth, and very straight. however, it broke before a year had passed. i was never rough on it and i didnt use it too often(about once or twice a week), but one day when i brought it out to use it, the cord completely detatched from the rest of the straightener. i was so dissapointed. next time i'll go for a sedu.
seriously...trust me i do not recommend this.

This was the first time i bought online and i spent $90 on this. Probably not the smartest thing ive bought. I have thick, curly, and frizzy hair. It is very unmanagable. I was sooo excited but when i got it after 7 or 8 days, it did not look like the flat iron in the picture. When i used it, it worked okay. Unfortunately, it was not worth that much money so i returned it. Even at the end of the day, my hair started flipping in a little. I havr definetly learned my lesson and will stick to a cheaper brand like ion. I am not going to order online ever again and i am not saying that Solia is a bad brand, but it didnt ork as well on me. Once again, i suggest going with a cheaper brand that you can buy at a store.

ive had this iron for over three years its the best iron ever. My hair is normally frizzy and doesnt feel soft and not to mention i have major curls. THis iron takes about 10 mins maybe less to iron my hair and it feels soooo smooth and its sooo straight. i love this iron

This is a great straightener. its leaves my hair so shiney and soft! i had a coriolis before this and it stoped working after about a year and it also left my hair burnt, didnt heat up, and overall just didnt straighten it but this solia just is amazing! i recomened it to everyone! im not sure if the sedu one is better but i might try it hwhen this one dies out on me which hopefully is not soon! Folica is amazing! SOlia is a great buy and worth every penny!

The iron straightened my non chemical treated, coarse, thick, mixture of kinky and wavy hair, better than the old fashion straightening combs. I actually use the highest heat setting of 450 and it does not burn or fry my hair. I only flat iron once or twice every two weeks, cause my hair stays straight even in very hot and humid weather.
I let hair air dry, next I comb through a very small amount of Biosilk, then spray lightly with CHI iron guard and brush through hair. I discovered that both the CHI and Biosilk work best when combed or brushed through the hair, instead of applying on individual sections. If you use too much, which I did at first the CHI will cause the hair to feel stiff.
Ironing small sections about 2 or 3 times gets my hair very straight. The only drawback is that the iron does not get close enough to straighten hair near the roots and the nape, so I have to use an electric hot comb for these areas.
I am extremely pleased with Solia, the iron produces wonderfully soft and straight hair and is comfortable and cool to handle.

i got this straightener a few weeks ago and i believe in one week after i bought it, it stopped turning on. at first i thought it was just my outlet, but my hair dryer worked. i really better get another one, but the time that we had together was nice.

2 comments: 1)I purchased this flat iron for my daughter last Christmas. What a difference it made in straightening her hair. No more split ends like from the one she had before - she absoulutly loves it. 2) Recently my daughter dropped the iron on the tile in her dorm room and the ceramic plate came lose. I contacted Folica via email and and by the next day I had a response about the warrenty on the iron. In the content of the email was all the info I needed to return the iron. I was very pleased with the service. I sent the iron back on a Saturday 2 day mail and had a brand new one at my house by the next Friday! You can not ask for better service than that! Great job Folica!

This is my first professional flat iron other than my Insyler (don't laugh I love it too). I am amazed how well the Solia straightens my hair, I have shoulder length brown frizzy hair and it makes it not only stick straight but shiny and smooth. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because mine doesn't look like the one in the picture. The plates look the same but the handle isn't the same, mine is matte hard plastic it doesn't have of those "rubbery bumps" on there. It's not a deal breaker but the "rubbery" handle seems like it would keep your hand from slipping as much. And it is one of the reasons I did pick this iron over the others. Not sure if this is an updated version or and old picture? Just be aware it may not look exacly like the picture but the performance is fantastic!

I have always used a Chi flat iron, but lately, I have been very disappointed with the quality of the Chi- the life span sucks, and I have had problems with it staying hot. So, when my Chi bit the dust, I researched other flat irons and settled on the Solia. I am so excited about my purchase and glad that I made the change. Switching over was the best hair decision I could have made! :) ha! It works faster for me, with better results. I love it! And have received awesome compliments on how straight my hair is. For those of you researching and want to know how it works on certain hair types- I have medium length, very thick, wavy and somewhat course hair. The Solia leaves it super straight, very soft (softer than Chi left it)and all in a shorter amount of time.
