Product Rating: 5 Love It!!
Reviewer: Angela from San Diego, CA  Mon Feb 28 2005

I'm new to the flat iron scene and this Solia is my first one. It's awesome!! Where have I been? Flat Irons can definitely do wonders on your hair. My hair isn't curly, it's more wavy, and without the iron it's kinda frizzy, too, even if I blow dry it. But with the flat iron, it's smooth, shiney, and honestly, just like I stepped out of the salon. Best purchase I've made in a long time!!

Reviewer: Mary from Miami  Wed Feb 23 2005

After reading all of the great reviews, I bought the Solia flat iron and was somewhat happy about the way that it straightened my hair. I had been using the Hot Tools ceramic flat iron and thought that the results when using the Solia iron were comparable, however the Solia iron did get the job done slightly faster...until it started acting up. After about one month of use, the Solia flat iron would shut off on me. I would press the reset button and it would turn back on for a few seconds, but then it would click off again. I called customer service and was told that there had been several returns for the very same reason and that since it had been more than 30 days since my purchase (It was 32 days) I would have to pay an extra $9.95 for shipping and handling (plus the $7.00 it cost me to mail the iron back to them) to have them send me a new iron. I am still waiting for the new iron.

I have fine hair that curls and tangles at even the mention of moisture. I was so amazed with my hair after my hairdresser used one of your flat irons that I had to ask where she got it from. She gave me the web address and the rest is history. Definately a 5 star product.

This hair straightener works great for me so far. It does everything it should, and I feel like my hair looks smoother than it did with my old straightener. It's a good size, too. My hair is pretty straight to begin with, so I don't know how this would work on other hair, but it works for me!

I was going to buy the Solano just because it has a reputation of being very good. Inside I went for this one based on the fact that is was healthier for my hair and worked well. It smooths my hair and is very gentle..it just glides on your hair. A definite must buy!

Product Rating: 5 Ceramic is the way to go.

I've had the Solia ceramic flat-iron for a while. I have used it on damp hair as well as dry. It heats ups incredibly fast; only seconds go by until it is hot enough. I'd been using a metal flat-iron, and the difference between metal and ceramic is astounding. I used to spend 45 minutes to an hour straightening my hair, and I now spend about 20. Also, the fact that I can do this on damp hair, shortly after taking a shower is just amazing to me!

An added benefit is the swivel plug attachment. This prevents the plug cord from tangling as you use the flat-iron.

Since my hair is curly, I set the heat to about 370 degrees. I've never set it all the way to 450 degrees, either.

I really liked this product. It works really good. I have wavy, thick hair and this flat iron does its jobs in minutes. I also tried on damp hair but the results are not as good as I thought. When using it with damp hair the final result is more like a blow-out job.Anyhow, it's a good product.

This product is excellent and the service was also excellent from Folica. I would recommend the product I purchased as well as this site to anyone.

Reviewer: Elizabeth from Tennessee  Tue Feb 15 2005

Amazing - amazing - and, yes, amazing!

I used a Wigo ceramic iron before purchasing the Solia. I thought my Wigo was good, but it pales in comparison to the Solia. In addition, my Wigo died after only 8 months of use!

The Solia is amazing. I read the other reviews on Folica.com and that is the reason I purchased it. It glides through my hair like silk! There is absolutely NO pulling or snagging whatsoever, which there was with the Wigo. It takes me MUCH less time to iron my hair. All of my friends love it and have said it is the most amazing flat iron ever. It straightened two of my friend's hair that is very coarse and curly with no problems. I have also noticed that my hair is much smoother, shinier, silkier, and more healthy with the Solia. I would absolutely suggest purchasing this before any other flat iron. I know a good deal about haircare, and I can't imagine how any other flat iron could perform better than this one!

This item is incredible.. I had read all the great features but you need to use it to believe it. My hair doesnt frizz up with moisture, its soft, straight and looks good even the next day. I highly recommend this to you. Easy to use, size is perfect and results are fabulous.

I got my Solia flat iron a few weeks ago and I LOVE IT!

I've been using the Vidal Sassoon iron for the past year and even though it worked fine, it didn't give me the straightness that I got from using Solia. With Solia, my hair stays straight and shiny for 2-3 days, which means I don't have to wash my hair everyday. I also tried the Chi flat iron and I'd say it's is comparable to Solia. But I chose Solia because it had better reviews than Chi.

Shipping took longer than expected (8 days).

Hi girls and guys maybe? haha..I recently bought the straightener and it's awesome.I have processed my hair so much within the last 2 months...5 times (bleached 2 twice to get black dye out) to be exact so you can imagine how brittle and dry my hair. What amazes me is that this straighten gets so hot, and yet it doesn't damage my hair and doesn't make it look all dried out and nasty like I thought it might do. It works great for my dry dry dry hair so I know it will work like a charm when my hair grows in healthy again...It also never pulls my hair out like other cheapo straighteners did before. Yes! I would definetly recommend this straighten to y'all :)

The first day I used the flat iron on my semi dry hair...I went to work. I received nothing but compliments. My hair is very thick and very hard to straighten completely without looking dried.

This flat Iron....smoothed it out in less time and gave me shiny soft hair....I was even told My hair is irristable...

Product Rating: 4 worked really good
Reviewer: Lois from Philadelphia  Tue Feb 08 2005

I use many flat irons and try to find the best ones for my hair. I have curly curly hair that sometimes frizzes up. The Solia Flat Iron worked really good on my hair. It does cause some static for me though. I am not blown away by this product however. I have used the CHI before and found that to be exceptionally better. But the Solia is pretty good and I intend to keep it.

One note about the plates for those concerned. I read through many reviews before purchasing and found some people complaining about the plates not lining up. When I received my Solia flat iron my plates did not match up too. But when I contacted the company they told me to wait until I heated the iron. And once it is heated, the plates make perfect contact. Just an F.Y.I. - don't be turned off by those reviews about the plates.

Thanks :)

I am very happy with the Solia flat iron. I have thick, frizzy, and wavy hair and this flat iron works extremely well for me. It is easy to use and heats up quickly. My straightened hair lasts all day, no kinks or waves. The shipping time was exceptional, arrived in two days.

Product Rating: 5 love this iron!
Reviewer: tanmomie from So California  Sat Feb 05 2005

My hair is extremely long and thick, but each hair is very fine. It is very hard to control since it is sort of wavy and there are a lot of flyaways. It usually takes me a long time to do my hair and I'm always going over it again if I go out latter. Since I've used this flat iron, my hair is much more controlled and I don't have to touch up if I go out, even if I don't wash it the next day. I can't beleive the difference from "okay" irons to this iron. It has made a world of a difference. I was Thinking of cutting my hair since it was such a hassle, but my hair has never looked better or been easier to manage and control. I recommend this flat iron to any and all.

My hair is curly and course, and this flat iron does wonders, it leaves my hair straight, healthy, and shiny looking. I absolutely love it. My daughter uses it and claims she will now spend more time at home, just so that she can use it.

I was very disappointed when receiving the solia. I used the product and did not make my hair soft and silky like the details describe. It did dry my hair when wet and pretty much burned my scalp. I tested with my other flat iron that I bought from costco for 39.00 and was way softer and silkier than the solia. I have returned the item for a refund.
