Product Rating: 5 Best Flat Iron ever!!

Very nice item. Hot!!!! A must for someone who has curly hair and straightens it

Product Rating: 5 LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reviewer: Anonymous from California  Tue Nov 15 2005

I love my new Solia flat iron. I have no complaints. It works great. No pulls or snags, heats up quick, its awesome! Not like the Bion I had purchased before, that was about a $100 more and it was awful. I was very disapointed. But I am very happy and satisfied with the Solia.

Product Rating: 5 awesome straightner
Reviewer: Sarah   Tue Nov 15 2005

I have been straightening my hair for probably 5-6 years now. I have gone through many many different straightners. I have used straightners ranging from about 25$-150$. I usually straighten my hair everyday. I wanted to purchase a new straightner because I felt that my other one wasn't doing the job it did when I first got it. So I researched and researched on which straightner to buy. I decided to get the solia 1 3/4 inch. I love this straightner. I have never seen my hair as straight as this one gets it. I have very very thick semi-course hair. Along with that fact that my hair is wavy/curly, this straightner took to my hair it like it was no problem. It makes my hair so soft and smooth. It also does not snag hair like ALL of my past straightners have done. I would reccomend this straighner to anyone who is looking for results. It is AWESOME!!

Product Rating: 4 great for longer hair....not short
Reviewer: Kellie from Knoxville, TN  Fri Nov 11 2005

This is a great flat iron. I love the way it makes my hair feel. It has never been so soft! This is one great flat iron that is great for all hair types. I have fine, naturally curly/wavey/frizy hair, and this flat iron does the trick! My only problem is that it is not that good for the shorter hair around my face. It is difficult to straighten it without having a funky crease. I would probably buy the more narrow one next time.

Product Rating: 5 My experience....

I am an african american female with long thick curly hair. I also have blond highlights, which make my hair dry, especiallay when heat styled. I was very skeptical about buying a flat iron for almost 100 bucks from the internet. I was going to buy that one on the infomercial on tv, but i decided to research it first and there were a lot of mixed reviews. I have had this flat iron since march. I had it for about 2 or 3 motnhs and it fell on the floor and broke! I contacted the folica customer service and they said to ship it in and they would replace it and I got a brand new one the very next day!! I have used several flat irons and have gotten my hair professionally straightened with a flat iron for $60. I have to say this is the BEST flat iron i have ever used. It truely does cut my hair styling time in half. This is honestly like no other. and it lasts all week until I am ready to wash my hair again. And I can create curls even with the 1-3/4" inch iron. It leaves my hair silky and healthy feeling. I have to admit to get the true salon look it did take me a few months to perfect, but now I realize you need a styling product to get really great results. I use a hair serum and hair oil and I really do look like I have my hair professionally done all the time. I would HIGHLY recommend this to anyone. Great buy!!

Product Rating: 5 A really great straightener
Reviewer: Kris from CA  Wed Nov 09 2005

I recently bought a Solia 1 3/4 inch iron. I recommend this size iron to anyone with lots of hair to cover. It straightens my hair so well that it sometimes looks limp and lifeless! My hair is naturally fro frizzy ...so I guess I welcome the sleek flat look to the ever so clean and bouncy friz fro. It's comfortable to use and for all those that said the plates move...I can't tell. It seems super sturdy.

Reviewer: Shavon from Atlanta  Mon Nov 07 2005

Wow. I just received mine on Friday and waited until last night to use it. I am African-American and desperately in need of a relaxer touch-up. In all fairness, my hair is more wavy than kinky but is VERY resistent to straightening. Well, I could not believe how beautiful, silky and lustrous my hair was last night after using this iron. It glided through my hair with no resistance at all. My hair looked like I went to a salon! Last night I wrapped it before I went to bed and this morning when I woke up I couldn't BELIEVE how it looked! The style was still there all I had to do was unwrap it. I'm giving all of my other flat irons away! Thanks SOLIA!

Great iron. What can I say. No tugging, no hair snagging. And very gentle on my hair. I think it actually protects it from getting damaged. Very satisfied.

Product Rating: 4 Good...for a while
Reviewer: Eliza Berg from New Hampshire  Wed Nov 02 2005

I have extremely thick and very curly hair. I got this flat iron 2 years ago, and am currently looking for a new one. At first, the iron worked extremely well and I was amazed, but now I have dead ends and the iron is not working as well. I do not have chemically treated hair and use smoothing shampoos and all that, but still my hair does not get sleek or shiny anymore with the solia; only straight but still poofy with split ends. This is why I am looking into getting either the Bion or Sedu flat iron. If you have fairly thin hair, I deffinately reccomend this iron because I have a friend with thin hair who this works very well on. But with thick hair like mine, it only works for so long.
Think twice before buying if you have thick hair!

This is the best professional flat iron I have used. I have wavy, thick hair and it works great. I have never been able to get my hair this straight!

Exchanged Solano Sapphire for the Solia Tourmaline 1 3/4. It heats quickly and is a good size for medium hair, I especially like that the heating plates align perfectly and grip hair really well. It takes me less than ten minutes to straighten my hair.

Reviewer: Medusa DeMattedMopTop   Thu Oct 27 2005

I received my Solia 1 3/4" just 45 minutes ago from the UPS man and let me explain my hair prior to breaking into the box.

I am of polynesian decent. I have very thick - I mean THICK! If any of you watch "Rome" on HBO, then you have seen Cleopatra w/ her wig, my hair is thick as that unstraightened. As if that wasn't enough of a curse to be born with, my hair is also wavy and unruly. For the past 10 years I have been getting my hair straightened (CHI for the last 4) and my last CHI treatment was in October of 2004. I have about 4-5 inches of new growth. Well, my old iron died and my hair took to it's natural unruly Medusa like self. UGH. I know I'm in dire need of a touch up but I just moved and I'm afraid to let just anybody straighten my hair.

ANYWAYS...

I took out the iron, immediately plugged it in before even taking off the ties from the cord and before I could get the second tie off, the iron was HOT! Awesome! I then unplugged it and ran to the bathroom, dragged in a stool then using a couple of drops of CHI Silk Infusion, I began taming this matted moptop.

My hair length is long, about 3 inches past mid-back. Usually, it would take me a good 1-2 hours but with this Solia? OMG! I kid you not! 30 minutes! I wish I had before and after pictures! And then again, I don't even want to show anybody my Medusa, she is not welcomed! LOL

I highly recommend the Solia flat iron!

I am very pleased with this flat iron! It doesnt stick to your hair, has a good grip on the hair, heats fast and doesnt leave the hair burned. I have had lots of flat irons from department stores and they just dont work. This one is really nice!

Product Rating: 4 Great Straightener but not a great curler!
Reviewer: blindlee   Mon Oct 24 2005

It straightens hair just as it says. But if you are interested in achieving soft curls you need to get a narrower flat iron (1" or narrower) - I tried curling my hair for hours before I gave up!

Product Rating: 4 Time saver!
Reviewer: Mirah   Sat Oct 22 2005

I just received mine. After using a $30 straightner that took a minimum of 1/2 hr to straighten my hair, for not for anything the time that I save (takes me 15 mintues max now) was well worth the purchase. My hair does not have that "fried" feeling either, it is soft and beautiful!

Product Rating: 4 Works well
Reviewer: Carol   Fri Oct 21 2005

The iron works well. It does take a while to straighten long hair and it only works with small sections of hair. I would also suggest using a product to protect your hair while using the iron. I am using a CHI product that smells clean and makes hair soft.

I purchased this product, got in in no time (great fast shipping) but the hair iron hasn't straightened my hair as much as I'd like. I have very thick, curly hair that's on the long side so maybe if I had finer hair, or less curly hair, it would work better.

Product Rating: 5 Better Than Salon Quality
Reviewer: Jeanette from Berkeley, CA  Mon Oct 17 2005

I have very thick, coarse and long hair, a blessing and a curse. I also highlight my hair so it can be pretty dry and frizzy at times, and though my hair is naturally curly, it is difficult to keep it in smooth curls without a curling iron or rollers. (read: an hour or two at least) I have used many straighteners, mostly in the $40-50 range, and usually have the stylist straighten my hair when I get it cut or colored. NOTHING compares to the results I get from my Solia flat iron, AND it does not damage my hair the way many others irons have in the past. It heats up extremely fast and stays hot even if my hair is slightly damp when I use it. Best results are on freshly washed and blow-dried hair. I use almost NO product in my hair, sometimes just a bit of silicone based serum, and my hair ends up soft, silky and pin straight! (something I always wished for as a child, even though my friends with pin straight hair wanted MY volume and curls; as they say, the grass is always greener...) I would HIGHLY recommend investing in this straightener, even if its a bit out of your price range. As I said, I have purchased several irons in the $40-50 price range, but they always broke after less than a year of using 2-3 times per week. I have had my Solia for over a year now and I have had zero problems thus far.

Product Rating: 5 the best hot iron that i ever used
Reviewer: Marsha from metairie, LA  Sun Oct 16 2005

I have long, thick, curly hair and this hair iron is the best. I was kinda worried about buying a product over the internet but after i got it and used it i dont regret a thing.

Product Rating: 5 BEST Iron yet!
Reviewer: Ash   Sun Oct 16 2005

I go through irons like people go through water. I was always breaking them or they never worked. My hair used to take an hour to straighten and now it takes 10 minutes! I was really hesitant about spending the money for this, since before I was tricked into spending hundreds on ones that never worked. With this one you won't be dissappointed!
