I have probably the most kinky hair a black girl can have. some of my hair isn't even in any type of tight curl its just scrunched up in kinkness.
I LOVE THIS FLAT IRON.
I love having natural hair but I miss the relaxer sometimes. this helps I get the same type of straight hair without the scalp burn and the breakage. I don't have to put a ton of product in my hair just some almond oil and this is the shine I get.
My natural ends are a problem but I find that if I flat Iron on day one and then add some mango butter from motions then run the iron through a little the problem is not solved but fixed reallly nicely.
All this for 88 bucks. To me it's like a million.

I have naturally wavy/curly hair and even my old CHI cant compare to how great my Solia works. mY husband LOVES how well it works too bc he likes i curl my hair with it. THIS IS the best buy for your money. Dont believe me? Buy one and try it.

I have kinda curly, wave hair when it drys and I hate having to spend time straightening my hair, not that it takes forever but it was just having to do all the work... then I recieved my solia 3 days after I ordered it and Wow was it great.... It doesnt fizz up or get wave after a bit... its bone straight and I love it.... Hope everyone gets the results I did!!!

I have very thick, coarse, dry hair, so I searched high and low for "the best" hair straightener before finally making my decision. I was torn between the Sedu and the Solia, but my frugal side won out and I decided to spend the $88 on the Solia instead of the $125 on the Sedu. Overall, it is a very good product. It made my hair silky-smooth, with just a few fly-away strands. My only pet peeve is that it took several passes at my hair to get it silky-smooth -- so the total time spent was more like 20-30 minutes instead of 10-15. And that was on the highest setting -- 450 degrees! I found that anything lower just didn't work on my hair. But like I said, the overall effect was satisfactory -- in fact, my boyfriend kept commenting on how soft and pretty my hair looked! Oh, one more thing -- I took the advice of some of the other reviewers and I put Biosilk into my hair right after washing it. Then I blow-dried my hair until it was only slightly damp, and then I straightened it. This method seems to produce the best results, and my hair stayed soft and straight until I washed it!
Great Purchase!!

I used to use the hot tools straightening iron for so long. I was tired of it ripping my hair and making it frizzy. I had heard about the Chi and the Hai, but after reading the reviews, I decided to go for the Solia (rated above the other two). I does not hurt at all and makes your hair feel super silky! I LOVE IT!!!

If you're thinking about buying a CHI or anything else, dont! this straight iron rules. my friend got one almost a year ago and i finally bought one for myself. her hair is rediculously big and the iron practically flattens it! mine isn't that bad so i keep the setting a little lower and it rules. so shiny and beautiful. awesome for curling out too!! **I'm the blonde one**
So the awaited iron finally arrives!!

I am the one on the right. I have mixed hair, its really fine but I get texturizers to get it really straight and I also color my hair. So far so good with this iron, it got to the root of my hair and helps me in between touch-ups. I just got it two days ago and have used it once. My hair remains straight as long as I wrap it tight. I am not too sure how it would work for humid weather because I live in DC and its pretty cold right now. I dont know if I would use it from wet to dry, I feel like no iron can handle that job. But this is a good one.

Anytime I need my hair straight, like perfectly straight, I start to worry. It's usually this huge hassel much too much to think about and too much to set striaight, but with the solia, my problem is solved. I only use it when my hair is already dry, so no damage is done. It makes my hair way sweet. and long and pretty. I am glad I got it.. I am curious to see how much 50 dollars price difference would make, but i am content with this so I'll leave that up to you.

OMG....I love the Solia. At first I was skeptic but also praying that it would work because I just spent my struggling college student money on something from the internet. But I recieved my solia within the next five days and used it right on the spot. I couldn't believe my eyes.....It really straightened my hair. I could actually wear it down without it sweating out within the next 10 minutes. And another thing that I loved about it is that my hair didn't sweat-out in the process of straightening like when I use the oven and pressing comb. I was so excited about my Solia that I drove home to use it on my little sister's hair. Now if it could get her thick spandex hair straight then the Solia was the real deal. To everyone in the house's surprise it straightened her hair in half the time and she was also able to beautifully wear her hair down for the very first time. Now every time I go home I have to guard my Solia for dear life because someone's trying to take it from me or straighten their hair. I've recommended it to all of my friends with the same thick hair as myself and it works wonders. Oh, and boy is it durable....I already dropped it like 5 times and it is still working like new. The greatest investment ever and I wouldn't give it up for anything else. Now enery time I go home it's like "Hi Amber, Did you bring your Solia?"

I was so excited to get my Solia Flat iron in the mail today...however the UPS guy just threw it on my balcony and the only reason I knew I got it was because I heard it hit the door...Aside from that, I took down my air-dried curly pony and straightened away! Here are the before and after photos. It also only took like five minutes to straighten my hair from the current state it was in!!

i LOVE this straightner. it makes my hair so straight. i have thick and ugly curly hair. and ah jeez, i use this EVERYDAY. and i get compliments. the only things that make me mad about it is that its been really humid and it always gets curly again :( and it takes forever to straighten. otherwise, i love it.

For the past year, I had used the HAI Stik Ceramic Iron. It worked great when stylists used it to straighten my hair; it would turn out silky and smooth. However, I never managed to get my hair as straight and silky as I would have liked when I used it myself. The HAI came with its share of problems: the plates were loose and they eventually broke off; the body chipped tremendously at the sides; the power light would flicker on and off, etc.
Fed up with the results and the faulty iron, I recently invested in the Solia Tourmaline Ceramic Flat Iron (1-1/4"). When I ran it through my dry, curly/wavy hair, I couldn't believe how instantly silky and soft it became!! After I finished my hair in 15 minutes, I was AMAZED with what I saw. I had NEVER achieved salon-quality results like this when I used the HAI on my hair.
This is the best ceramic iron I have ever used and I am thrilled that I took a chance on it. No matter what kind of hair type you have, this flat iron will NOT leave you disappointed!!

I just got my Solia straightner in the mail today. The package came exactly when they said it would, even though I live on a college campus! The product straightned my hair perfectly...although it is not as fast as a Chi. Still, it worked on my curly mane, so I'm happy. Overall? Great.

I'm seriously amazed at how well this iron works. No hair pulling, no sizzling and no frizzies. With the iron I had before the minute I stepped outside in the humid weather, my hair would puff up. This iron actually seals in more moisture and keeps your hair straighter longer! I definitely reccomend it! :)

It was absolutely worth every penny! I have very curly/frizzy hair and with this iron I only have to run the iron through my hair twice and it's straight! I used to use those awful store bought flat irons that didn't even leave my hair straight for a half hour! I love it!! : )
So in Love with Solia

The Solia lived up to all my expectations and it came with a price tag that didn't eat a hole in my wallet. I don't think there's anything I could add to the review that hasn't already been said about the Soila. The best part about this product was it left my hair feeling silky fine and oh-so-touchable. Je l'aime!!!
These tips are ment to help keep hair beautiful and healthy. The products are effective and used to decrease the damage done in hair when blow drying and/or using a ceramic flat iron like the Solia.
::Hair Tips::
1. Rather than blow dry hair, let it dry naturally but don't ruffle the towel all over hair because that makes hair frizzy. If you do blow dry hair use it on low heat, it reduces the damage.
2. Rub a small amount of Frederic Fekkai's glossing cream between fingers and evenly distribute throughout the hair to add manageability and shine.
Extra Step: If you have alot of frizz or if your hair is curly apply Frederic Fekkai's Straight Away (of any Straightening cream/balm) to tame frizz and help straighten hair before using the ceramic iron.
3. Add the finishing touches by spraying Oscar Blandi Jasmine Protein Mist, its a leave-in moisturizing spray essential to all hair types for detangling and fortifying. This mist penetrates hair and repairs it from within. It also rids the hair of excessive oils and keeps hair fresh and smelling great because of the naturally derived jasmine fragrances. I'm promoting this product alongside the Solia because this product is great for styling and restyling before or aftering using the Solia.
4. Set heat at 300 degrees on the Solia, Its hot enough but not to hot for straightening my medium fairly thick coarse hair. Than separate the hair into 3 parts and straighten away~!!! It usually takes me 15-20 mins to straighten my hair.
5. Once or twice a week I use Frederic Fekkai Apple Cider Clearing Rinse, it rids the hair of product buildup while adding shine, softness, and silkiness. Any kind of clarifying shampoo will work but I love the smell of this product. By using a clarifying shampoo it allows styling products to work better.
