This is an amazing flat iron, but its not the best in the whole world. There could be better. It slides through your hair really easy, and makes it flat for a long time, which is pretttyy swweeett. haha. It doesnt fluff back up until you take your next shower, and it doesnt take forever to flat iron your hair.
I know the pictures are bad quality, my dad dropped my digital camera in the ocean...=(
Folica is the best...So is Solia.

First and foremost, I have to applaud Folica on their customer service and shipping. I ordered the iron with regular free shipping one day, and received it via UPS the next. I'm biracial, black and white, and my hair can be quite unruly. My hair in its natural state is VERY curly, the kind of curl that is not ringlet, and that you can not get a comb through. I usually get my hair done professionally at a salon who uses marcel stove irons. I did my research and the Solia gets the hottest for the best price. 450 degrees does the trick. It's great, and I recommend it for anyone who can work with that type of heat. For those with a little curl or wave, use a lower setting, especially if you're not used to working with a flat iron. Hope this helps...Good LUCK! Thanks Folica!

I wanted to wait, at least a good 3 months. Now i can say i am satisfied. I had The T3, Sedu and many more. T4 NO GOOD! Burns your hair..bad. Sedu, not bad, but it did burn my hair. I have VERY thick curly coarse spanish hair. I got the Solia 1-1/4 inch. Its great. It really does the job. Sadly, i don't think anyone has come up with an iron that does not burn your hair 100%. The solia burns the least. If you decide to buy one, trust ME. i am VERY picky....CHOOSE THE SOLIA! U WON'T REGRET IT! good luck girls!!!(and boys too) :)
Awesome straightener...I use it at the salon I work at!

I researched straighteners prior to purchasing this one. This was the only one that had SO MANY reviews. It has been one of the best purchases I have made. I recently graduated from cosmetology school and have started working in a salon. We sell another brand of straighter but it doesn't work as well and it pulls hair. This straighter is totally awesome. One of the other stylist has purchased her own instead of me doing her hair when she gets into work!! While in school I used it on ethnic hair and it made the girls hair like silk. She was so impressed by what the straightener did for her hair she made me write down the info so she could purchase her own!

So i have used this straightener for over a year and its about time i get a new one. this straightener has saved my hair! my hair like ranges from curly to frizzy/thick and I love what it does to it! the only negative is that this iron only lasts a year, but what great year it has been. After a year this straightener starts to smell like burnt electricity and it starts to pull your hair a little, but for 13 months there is no problem at all with this.
fantastic product

I have thick, dry, highlighted naturally curly hair. I also live in the south where the humidity is insane 8 months a year. My hair has always been a source of drama; finally after all my friends bought flat irons and swore by them I decided to investigate. After reading reviews and trying out my friend's Turbo Chi (which pulled my hair and made it brittle in my opinion)I decided on the Solia. I LOVE IT. It gives me "hanging" hair. As in, my hair just hangs there, perfectly straight and smooth. No flyaways, no pouf, no drama. I've had the iron and year and it still works beautifully. Please excuse the pictures I chose, I wrote this review on a whim and didn't have time to prepare ;)

I have really really thick, curlyish hair, and I don't like the way it poofs out and stuff. I borrowed my neighbors Chi for a little while and was considering buying one until I heard they break easily. So then I did my research and finally decided to buy this Solia iron and it works amazing!! You can see for yourself....buy this!
Love it!!

I had this straightener for about 8 months & I love it. It works so good. I don't have curly hair but my hair is very frizzy & poofy & sometimes it's wavy. It only takes about 10 minutes to get my hair really straight. It heats up really fast. I totally recommend it.

I have really thick hair and it always takes me forever to get it straight. When I use this product I don't have to go over my hair multiple times. It saves me a lot of time.

I have naturally wavy hair. I recently cut my hair very short and I needed a smaller iron. I already have a Chit Turbo 2 inch, but it wasn't getting close enough to my roots. For our anniversary, my boyfriend ordered me the Solia off the site. It shipped very fast and I was very anxious to try it out. It's great! It leaves my hair really soft, straight, and it takes very little time to use. I usually don't even have to go over the same section of hair twice! I really reccomend this product if you have short hair and want good results.

I have the nappiest hair ever! The only flat iron that ever got my hair straight was the one that goes in the stove b.k.a the one at the salon. I've always had long hair so it has always been quite an expense to pay for my hair to get done. Now, that's all changed! I can honestly this flat iron works! I reccommend this flat iron if you are African-American and have natural hair (no perms)...my hair is definitely silky and has lasted for three weeks so far. I'm proud.
Wonderful!

I'm asian and I can't really complain about my hair. It's straiter than a lot of people's hair but for reasons still unknown my bangs tend to curl into a wavy sheet on either side of my head. It's bothered me for forever until recently when I decided to get a hair straightener. I did a lot of research to make sure I would get a good one and finally came to this one.
The 1 1/4" Solia flat iron is the first hair straitener I've ever bought. I'm happy with it and it really does it's job. I love how it leaves my hair silky and the most wonderful thing, I finally have strait bangs! It heats up really fast and I like the size, it's not clunky at all. I only wonder if I should have gotten the 3/4" because my hair is only about shoulder length and it would have been great to be able to make curls at a whim.
The service from Folica.com was great with fast shipping and the free bag it comes with is useful.

Ok... My hair rhymes with nightmare. I have tried all kinds of flat iron, Sedu (died out my hair), Conair (a piece of junk), Revlon (my first. requires a lot of strengh to work well), Wiggo (smells horrible and just don't hot enough) and the CHI (that broke after 1 week of use). Then when I was about to give up and just wear my hair curly (ugh!) I decided to try one more product. and OH MY GOD!!! It was so easy, so quick. The result you see on the picture I got in 35 minuts! it gets really hot, and you can adjust the temperature! It's very well mad, doen't look like cheap material like the CHI. So stop reading and buy it!

I have been struggling with thick wavy, frizzy hair for years......so, when I changed hairstylists I absolutely loved how my hair looked when she flat ironed it. She had used a CHI and I was determined to get one.
I came here looking for reviews of the CHI and was so disappointed in what I saw.......so, on to other flat irons, I found the Solia and loved the reviews. I think I sat here reading for 2 hours straight. I am very happy with my purchase.
When I got my iron, Folica was running a FREE shipping and heat protectant pouch/mat.......which was perfect. I had a big even to go to on Saturday (out of town....so the pouch was perfect) and wanted the iron by then. I ordered it on a Tuesday and upgraded to 2-day shipping. I received it on Thursday and actually got to practice with the iron before I left.......it worked wonderfully. I'm so glad I found this site and my Solia!!!!

After reading several reviews about different flat irons, I chose the Solia. It worked great, I was very impressed. My mom is Japanese and my dad is black. My hair in it's natural state is very curly, and unless it is straightened well, it will get frizzy.
After I set my hair and used the SOLIA (370 degress)There was no frizz and my hair stayed straight.I am definitely sold on the Solia, it worked extremely well on my hair. Unfortunately I have an after picture only.
FYI: The only part I was concerned about is the high level of heat, so I will set my hair differently, to use a lower level of heat. (Roller Set)Because it seemed like my ends were drier than before.
I would recommend if you have curly hair, and have good products to use that the Solia will produce the results you desire. It did for me.

wow, this product is amazing! it was a gift to me, and i couldn't have been happier.
This Solia flat iron is the best i think. It lets you adjust the heat for your hair type, and doesn't burn your hair! The ceramic plates leave your hair to look AND feel very smooth and soft. It is really worth the money =) i've dealt with flat irons that "claim" to be ceramic, and all they did was burn my hair and damage it.
This is definitely #1 !!
Absolutely the best....

I love this flat iron!!! I have used other flat irons that go up to 400 degrees, but they never got my hair as straight as Solia does. I have very thick curly, wavy hair. I have never been able to let my hair down without having some part of it pulled back. I can now Have my hair down blow in the wind and it is still perfect. I would, and have, recommend this product to anyone with thick hair. It is a great price and you can have that extra degrees. The first picture is with a cheap flat iron that left my hair puffy. The second picture is with the Solia. :)

I have been researching various hair straighteners for the longest time until I came across this site. Since the #1 hair straightener was a bit out of my range price wise, I opted for the Solia. After browsing the before and after pictures, I purchased it.
Let me say after years and years of using practically every hair product on the market and several department store hair straighteners, I was pretty skeptical of the performance of this straightener. While my hair wasn't extremely curly, it was wavy and VERY stubborn. Most annoyingly, my bangs would frizz to the point nothing would tame them.
After receiving my Solia, I gave it a very quick try to see what would happen. I only spent about 15 minutes and my hair went from dried out looking and frizzy to healthy and amazingly straight!
I can not tell you how elated I am with this product! The saying "If it worked for me, it'll work for anyone" is so cliche, but it's the honest truth! If you have stubborn hair and want something that really works, buy this straightener!! It's absolutely wonderful!
