I bought the solia because I thought it would be amazing. I have thick, curly, frizzy, dry, annoying hair. The solia takes a long time to straighten compared to when my stylist uses a chi. I'd reccomend a CHI for anyone who can afford it, and has thicker hair and less time. For anyone who doesn't see the point in buying such an expensive styling tool, the solia is great. I'm impressed that my hair doesn't friz in such a wet climate as Vancouver. It does straighten, is pretty fast heating up, but can be a little fussy. I haven't experienced any dammage to my hair so far, but I use a relatively expensive heat protection product, kms flat out. The two work great together! Definetly recomend this product to anyone who isn't counting on a daily straighten, I don't think this iron can handle that. Also, I don't think the heat is really all that even... but it works.
Very Satisfied!

all i can say, is this flat iron is freakin amazing! i don't have to run it over my hair multiple times, my hair comes out incredibly straight and soft, it heats up fast, it doesn't pull your hair - even a few strands of hair... i can't believe this straightener only costs $88! and i was about to spend $50 more on a CHI! this is an amazing straightener. i highly recommend it!

The solia's customer reviews and its price is what got my attention. The product is great it works wonders on my hair which is extremly curly. The only downside that i can think of is it takes 2-4 min to really heat up. But if you can remember to plug it in and do some makeup first you'll never know the difference. Plus i got the heat pad for free and i LOVE it!. Its great, i dont have to worry where i sit it down. Honestly i love this product and i am so happy i commited to buying it! Look at my pics to see the difference, mind you that i was walking all day on a rainy and windy day at a canon in Quebec City, But i still think it looks great!

I have used my Solia straightener for over a year and a half and it still works amazingly!
My hair isn't incredibly curly like everyone elses, its naturally straight, but get bumps from ponytails and tucking my hair behind my ears...so i straighten it every day to keep this from happening.
I've used my friends CHI's before, and they work really great, but you dont know what temperature they're at and they seem to have little parts break off easily.
I definitely reccomend the Solia though, it higher quality for cheaper, and it gets as hot as 450 degrees.
good deal

This is an amazing flat iron, but its not the best in the whole world. There could be better. It slides through your hair really easy, and makes it flat for a long time, which is pretttyy swweeett. haha. It doesnt fluff back up until you take your next shower, and it doesnt take forever to flat iron your hair.
I know the pictures are bad quality, my dad dropped my digital camera in the ocean...=(
Folica is the best...So is Solia.

First and foremost, I have to applaud Folica on their customer service and shipping. I ordered the iron with regular free shipping one day, and received it via UPS the next. I'm biracial, black and white, and my hair can be quite unruly. My hair in its natural state is VERY curly, the kind of curl that is not ringlet, and that you can not get a comb through. I usually get my hair done professionally at a salon who uses marcel stove irons. I did my research and the Solia gets the hottest for the best price. 450 degrees does the trick. It's great, and I recommend it for anyone who can work with that type of heat. For those with a little curl or wave, use a lower setting, especially if you're not used to working with a flat iron. Hope this helps...Good LUCK! Thanks Folica!

I wanted to wait, at least a good 3 months. Now i can say i am satisfied. I had The T3, Sedu and many more. T4 NO GOOD! Burns your hair..bad. Sedu, not bad, but it did burn my hair. I have VERY thick curly coarse spanish hair. I got the Solia 1-1/4 inch. Its great. It really does the job. Sadly, i don't think anyone has come up with an iron that does not burn your hair 100%. The solia burns the least. If you decide to buy one, trust ME. i am VERY picky....CHOOSE THE SOLIA! U WON'T REGRET IT! good luck girls!!!(and boys too) :)
Awesome straightener...I use it at the salon I work at!

I researched straighteners prior to purchasing this one. This was the only one that had SO MANY reviews. It has been one of the best purchases I have made. I recently graduated from cosmetology school and have started working in a salon. We sell another brand of straighter but it doesn't work as well and it pulls hair. This straighter is totally awesome. One of the other stylist has purchased her own instead of me doing her hair when she gets into work!! While in school I used it on ethnic hair and it made the girls hair like silk. She was so impressed by what the straightener did for her hair she made me write down the info so she could purchase her own!

So i have used this straightener for over a year and its about time i get a new one. this straightener has saved my hair! my hair like ranges from curly to frizzy/thick and I love what it does to it! the only negative is that this iron only lasts a year, but what great year it has been. After a year this straightener starts to smell like burnt electricity and it starts to pull your hair a little, but for 13 months there is no problem at all with this.

I have thick, dry, highlighted naturally curly hair. I also live in the south where the humidity is insane 8 months a year. My hair has always been a source of drama; finally after all my friends bought flat irons and swore by them I decided to investigate. After reading reviews and trying out my friend's Turbo Chi (which pulled my hair and made it brittle in my opinion)I decided on the Solia. I LOVE IT. It gives me "hanging" hair. As in, my hair just hangs there, perfectly straight and smooth. No flyaways, no pouf, no drama. I've had the iron and year and it still works beautifully. Please excuse the pictures I chose, I wrote this review on a whim and didn't have time to prepare ;)

I have really really thick, curlyish hair, and I don't like the way it poofs out and stuff. I borrowed my neighbors Chi for a little while and was considering buying one until I heard they break easily. So then I did my research and finally decided to buy this Solia iron and it works amazing!! You can see for yourself....buy this!

I had this straightener for about 8 months & I love it. It works so good. I don't have curly hair but my hair is very frizzy & poofy & sometimes it's wavy. It only takes about 10 minutes to get my hair really straight. It heats up really fast. I totally recommend it.

I have naturally wavy hair. I recently cut my hair very short and I needed a smaller iron. I already have a Chit Turbo 2 inch, but it wasn't getting close enough to my roots. For our anniversary, my boyfriend ordered me the Solia off the site. It shipped very fast and I was very anxious to try it out. It's great! It leaves my hair really soft, straight, and it takes very little time to use. I usually don't even have to go over the same section of hair twice! I really reccomend this product if you have short hair and want good results.

I have the nappiest hair ever! The only flat iron that ever got my hair straight was the one that goes in the stove b.k.a the one at the salon. I've always had long hair so it has always been quite an expense to pay for my hair to get done. Now, that's all changed! I can honestly this flat iron works! I reccommend this flat iron if you are African-American and have natural hair (no perms)...my hair is definitely silky and has lasted for three weeks so far. I'm proud.

I'm asian and I can't really complain about my hair. It's straiter than a lot of people's hair but for reasons still unknown my bangs tend to curl into a wavy sheet on either side of my head. It's bothered me for forever until recently when I decided to get a hair straightener. I did a lot of research to make sure I would get a good one and finally came to this one.
The 1 1/4" Solia flat iron is the first hair straitener I've ever bought. I'm happy with it and it really does it's job. I love how it leaves my hair silky and the most wonderful thing, I finally have strait bangs! It heats up really fast and I like the size, it's not clunky at all. I only wonder if I should have gotten the 3/4" because my hair is only about shoulder length and it would have been great to be able to make curls at a whim.
The service from Folica.com was great with fast shipping and the free bag it comes with is useful.
