Product Rating: 5 Great product
Reviewer: Mena from CA  Fri Dec 28 2007

As, an African American woman it difficult home styling tools to find items that work. I purchase this flat iron assuming it would work ok. To my surprise this flat iron really works. I have very thick hair that frizzes up easily. My hair stayed straight for a week and I didn’t even have to use a hot comb either. I just washed my hair; blow dried then used the flat iron. I did put the Fantasia IC Hair Polisher Heat Protector Straightening Serum before blowing drying. I would highly recommend this product.

Product Rating: 5 Great gift to myself!

Having used the same $40 ceramic flatiron for a good 5-6 years, I noticed some chipping on the plate and began researching for a replacement. The Solia seemed like a good bargain, and it turned out to be the buy of the year for me. While my other iron dried out my atypically wavy Asian hair, the Solia renders it soft and shiny with minimal effort. I LOVE THIS PRODUCT!

Product Rating: 5 Best by Far!
Reviewer: Aubri from Hawaii  Tue Dec 25 2007

I have gone through 3 straighteners of my own and have tried many others that my friends have had, and none of which even compared to this one. I have really long, curly, thick hair that use to take me hours, but now I'm done in a 1/2 hour. My hair never gets caught in it, and it leaves it very soft and smooth. I love it! If you need a little extra help keeping it straight, like I do with the humidity of Hawaii, try StraightSexyHair Smooth & Seal by Hair SEXY concepts- total life saver!!

Product Rating: 5 finally!
Reviewer: Sheryl G.   Mon Dec 24 2007

For the past year and a half, i had a wet to straight revlon hair straightener. At first, it was fine. But eventually it got disgusting and the plate was no longer silver - it was brown and not only this, but it smelled awful when i would use it. I begged my mom to buy me this one, and she finally gave in. I LOVE IT. Its great because of how hot it can get! I also really enjoy the heat mat because now i dont have to worry about messing up the surface i put it on! This straightener makes my hair sooo soft and i dont feel like its ripping at all! The only thing that i would say is a problem for me, is that how i hold it, it sometimes is a bit hot. But besides that, i love love love it. My hair is extremely hard to straighten because of how much i have, but the straightener works great! Especially at only 60 dollars, this is a great buy.

Product Rating: 5 Solia Flat Iron
Reviewer: Denise   Fri Dec 21 2007

The Solia flat iron is definitely worth the $$! For the fist time I have truly straight hair; and in the words of my best friend, "It looks professional!" I can have that just-back-from-the-salon look every day and I love it.

Just a word of caution, BE CAREFUL when you get close to your scalp. I have burned myself so many times because the heat goes right to the edges. Not a bad thing, but just be careful.

Also HATE the cord!!! It is like 20 miles long and hangs up on everything while I'm using it. But, the flat iron is so good I would buy another one in spite of that annoying fact.

If this is also a review about the Folica company, let me say that the shipment was immediate on this product, but I ordered another product that I paid for and never received. It was only after like 5 phone calls explaining over and over and finally asking for my $$ back, that FINALLY someone actually listened to me and I got refunded. Wouldn't buy from them again.

Product Rating: 5 BETTER THAN SEDU
Reviewer: bree from Lancaster, SC  Tue Dec 18 2007

i recently bought the sedu 1" flat iron (in September) and i loved it. my sister loved it too and she wanted to buy it from me so i told her she could and i would just order a new one. WELL..... i was looking and seen this solia for like 50 bucks cheaper so i decided to give it a try.......AND GUESS WAT.... it works so much better and faster than my sedu. The sedu straightens very well but my hair felt stiff afterwards the solia gives my hair body, shine and luster, it is so silky and smooth and i can shake it as much as i want but it still stays straight!!!!!!!!!!!!I LOVE THIS STRAIGHTENER!!!!!!!!!!!!

Product Rating: 5 Best Straightner for a good price!
Reviewer: canadachick from Canada  Mon Dec 17 2007

This straightner is an excellent straightner with a really good price!! I am a Hairstylist and I have tried many straightners, and I can honestly say that the Solia straightner is by far the best!! I've had mine for over 3 years and it works still very well!... If you are considering buying this product do so, why spend the extra almost 100$ for a CHI when the solia is just as good. And the CHI is only ceramic plates (solia has tourmaline/ ceramic which is better for frizz free and quick straight hair). I recommend any tourmaline straightner over just ceramic.

Product Rating: 5 I love it!
Reviewer: Liz from New York  Fri Dec 14 2007

I just bought it and its wonderful! I went through a few irons before and this one leaves my ends smooth and its great an easy to get to the roots for a very natural straight look. I am hispanic and black so my hair is very curly. I havent mastered the curling style with this yet, but i like what I can do so far. :)

Product Rating: 4 So far so good!!!!
Reviewer: Carrie from ATL, GA  Wed Dec 12 2007

I just bought this after returning a Wigo, and I am very happy with its performance. It still takes forever as I have a ton of hair, which is why I chosae 4 star instead of 5, but I am not at a point where I am willing to pay over $100 for a flat iron. But for any of you considering it, I have ALOT of course thick hair and it does the trick. Well worth the extra $20 for a better product.

Product Rating: 5 Great Flat Iron

Awesome flat iron. Gets hot quick and has varible heat settings. Makes hair straight, smooth and shiny. Love it. Would definately recommend.

Product Rating: 1 Disappointed...broken after only 2 weeks.
Reviewer: Anonymous   Tue Dec 11 2007

I really liked this product at first but it was broken after only 2 weeks of use. I just returned the item. It did not turn on nor heat up at all. If it breaks so easily, I don't know if anyone should spend this much for a flat iron. Performance is very good but durability is questionable.

Product Rating: 5 very reliable product

Product Rating: 4 Solia Hair Straightener
Reviewer: Maria from Iowa  Sat Dec 08 2007

I bought this as a Christmas present for my 17 year old. She usually uses a 2" flat iron at max heating. SOmetimes she straightens her hair twice a day. I have used a Cricket
1 " for years. So seeing that her hair was getting damaged and breaking, I decided to buy this and we would "share" it.
ONLY if she did not turn the heat past 325 degrees.
Well, we are both thrilled. Her hair is soft and doesn't look fried and my hair (a shoulder length bob) curled under at the ends and still looks wonderful 3 days later, not flat and lifeless. THIS IS WITH ONE USE girls!!
The Solia 1 1/2" ceramic iron is fabulous. But do not use it at high heat or without product. I went all over looking for Paul Mitchell Skinny Serum. It is hard to find but worth it.

Product Rating: 1 These reviews did not work for me.

I ended up buying another Original Chi, as both flat irons I purchased on Folica, this one and the Chi Turbo were not as good. I can't believe people gaave these irons such rave reviews.

Product Rating: 2 Not that great
Reviewer: Max from Birmingham, AL  Thu Dec 06 2007

I was very excited to purchase this iron after reading all of the reviews about it but,I don't see what all the hype is about. It looks cheap and it didn't make my hair look shiny at all. It also took forever for it to get here. This is going back.

Product Rating: 5 Works great
Reviewer: SN   Tue Dec 04 2007

I had one by Jilbere which did nothing for the frizzies. This one will make your hair shine. My hair is dark brown medium coarseness, generally frizzy out of the shower. But this flat iron doe a great job on it.

Product Rating: 5 Thoroughly enjoy using this iron
Reviewer: H. Parks from Detroit, MI  Fri Nov 30 2007

I am AA and this does the trick for my hair. Love the ease of use; only need to run it through each section once; great for curling and flipping hair as well; so far, extremely satisfied; worth the cost.

Product Rating: 4 works well
Reviewer: Mermaid from Bay Area, CA  Fri Nov 30 2007

This is the 4th Solia I've purchased, so obviously I like them. New on this version is the huge plug adapter which makes packing it a pain. Not thrilled with that.
