I have used CHI before and this works even better. The movable plates are a great feature. It doesn't toast your hair at all. I also discovered that you can flip/curl the tips perfectly without having to go over your hair many times. I also like the adjustable temperature controls which the chi doesn't provide. I have course very tight curls and my mom has a wavy silky hair so the adjustable temp allows us to use the same iron and achieve the style we want. The weight of the iron isn't too heavy either. oh and the FREE heat resistant pouch is a LIFE SAVER! I like to watch tv while i do my hair and now i don't have to worry about burning the carpet or prepare a wet towel to put the hot iron on. finally, the price ain't too shabby either ;)

I have tried many irons over the years, this one I am most impressed with. It does not pull,snag or tear my hair leaving great results. The only downfall I found with it is that it takes along time to heat up so when your in a hurry its frustrating, but that being the only downfall,this iron is WORTH every penny!!!!

This is a fabulous product! I have tried cheap and equally priced irons and this is by far the best. I ordered based on the others reviews and this iron has lived up to everything said. It is so smooth you don�t even know it�s on your hair. I straightened by sons hair last night and it�s the first time he let me finish. There is no pulling and the hair looks and feels like silk when you�re finished. I really like that there is a temperature control. Many others irons that were recommended did not have this function. The iron heats quickly and the temperature stays consistent during use.

This is the first flat iron that I've bought but over all it's a pretty good flat iron. Works quickly. Love that it heats up in seconds. I have curly/very frizzy hair and it does a good job smoothing it out nicely. Disappointed that the cord gets tangled and doesn't swivel like it's supposed to, especially when you're curling your hair with it. Also leaves "crimp" lines quite frequently.
Tell it to me Straight!

This flat iron is hot, runs through my hair smoothly without ANY pulling, and I feel is it well worth the $80 I spent on it! I considered a Chi (which lately has been getting worse reviews than it has in the past) and a Wella (which is mainly sold in the UK, so was hard to get and about $50 more). I think I made the right choice!

After several months of reading reviews and researching. This flat iron lives up to what it says. First of all Folica.com delivered my flat iron super fast, second it heated up very quickly; third it straightened my crazy, wavy, curly, frizzy hair in one swipe. One swipe OH MY GOD! THAT ONLY HAPPENS WHEN I GO TO THE SALON TO GET A TRIM AND THAT IS SELDOM FOR ME AS A TREAT. And forth, the heat proof pouch is great for storing and for resting the flat iron when you are using it so that you don't do and damage to any surfaces. My hair is long past my shoulders and it only took 20 minutes to do. I used the flat iron along with the Chi silk infusion. My hair is silky soft, shiny and super smooth. My old Conair flat iron toasted my hair and had the toasty smell. With the Solia no toasty hair and no toasty hair smell. I am completely in love with the Solia flat iron I got as a gift from Folica.
I have naturally straight hair, but it usually looks limp and has a strange ridge in the middle. This flat iron makes it perfectly straight and brings life to my hair! Unlike other straightens I've used, it doesnt pull, and doesn't damage my hair.
I have always disliked drying my hair. It takes too long and looks frizzy when I'm done. I now use this flat iron on damp hair, and its a dream! It dries quicker than with a hair dryer, and is perfectly straight! I don't need any hair serum, which reduces the greasiness on subsequent days when I don't wash my hair. I have the heat setting about 325-350. I need a higher heat setting when my hair is dry versus wet.

My husband bought me this for a Christmas present this year and I love it! He did a lot of research to find the best one in a good price range. He did a great job. Heats up quickly and makes my hair really shiny and straight. So glad he picked this one.

I purchased this product for my neice for Christmas and bought one for my daughter and it is an excellent product. You couldn't get your hair any straighter then this!!!! And it is fast too...
This is a quality product and I hightly recommend it to anyone who needs a quick straghten!!!

I have very thick wavy hair and this flat iron is perfect for it! i have had many straightners before this one and they either snag or burn my hair but the solia iron glides smoothly over my hair without tearing or breaking it and it doesnt seem to damage the hair like my other ones have in the past. It does not create split ends and leaves my hair so smooth and shiney it looks proffesionally done!As an added bonus this straightner keeps my hair smooth and frizz free all day!!! this iron is a great deal!

I've owed a lot of different brands of flat irons, mostly I've had Chi's, but this is the best one I've EVER owed. And at half the price of the last Chi I bough, it's a freaking great value for a wonderful product! :)

ive had this amazing straightener for 3 years and it finally broke (im not sure exactly what happened, it just wont turn on anymore) i am definitely gonna by another one, this is the only thing that lets my hair be managable!

I bought this solely on the great reviews and I am SO HAPPY I did! This flat iron does exactly what everyone claims. It heats up fast, reduces flyaways, and straightens in one pass. I'll never go back to my Conair!!

I have extremely thick curly/wavy/frizzy/unmanageable hair. For the past 7 years, I have straightening my hair almost every day. This is the first time that I ever got a straightener that cost more than 25 dollars, haha.
I CANNOT BELIEVE THE DIFFERENCE!
If you have hair like mine, I definitely recommend this straightener. My hair actually feels soft and healthy for the first time. The boyfriend loves it - and actually used it one day, haha.
The only thing that I don't like about it is that when I use it, it seems to put moisture into my hair even though my head is dry. Don't worry - it won't make your hair frizz up like humidity does. For all I know, that's what makes my hair feel so silky afterwards!
I definitely recommend it, though I've only had it for a few weeks.
Oh, and the heat-proof pouch was great for traveling over the holidays!

I WAS NOT SURE IF I SHOULD GET ANOTHER CHI OR TRY SOMETHING DIFFERENT AND I AM SOOOO GLAD I DID! I THOUGHT CHI WAS THE BEST BUT SOLIA IS AWESOME! MY HAIR IS NORMALY CURLEY AND FRIZZY BUT THIS IRON MAKES IT STRAIGHT, SILKY AND SMOOTH. IT DOES NOT FRY YOUR HAIR. IT LOOKS NATURAL. I DONT WASH MY HAIR EVERY DAY AND NOW I DONT HAVE TO GO OVER IT IN THE MORNING. I LOVE IT! THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO WROTE A REVIEW BEFORE I BOUGHT IT! THATS WHAT SOLD ME!

i absolutely love this flat iron! my hair is curly and medium-long length, but not extremely long. my hair also frizzes out so much! with my sister's flat iron it would take me about 45 minutes to an hour to fully straighten my hair, and with my conair it would take an hour to an hour and fifteen minutes. with this flat iron it only takes me 15 to 20 minutes! i recommend it to anybody.

Okay so i just got my solia flat iron today and already I am so in love with it. I had a fairly good straightener before the solia but that one left my hair looking kind of lifeless and not shiney and kind of rough in some areas.. But with the Solia my hair is shiny and soo soft and still has volume and life to it.I completly love this. :) deffently recomend for everyone..

This is by far the best flat iron I've ever had the pleasure of using. At 13, I've had about 4 straighteners before. I first owned a revlon and a conair. They were good, but never did the job the way I would have liked. I then bought a Cloche Pro Tourmaline Ceramic flat iron off of ebay. At the time, I thought it was the best. Then, as I got more set on finding the best straightener, I decided to buy the chi. It was amazing. However, it burnt my hair and left my hair extremely damaged and rough. With thick, wavy hair I have it a lot easier than others with coarse, curly hair. However, that doesn't make the Solia flat iron any less amazing. It makes my hair extremely straight and shiny. The heat settings are very helpful and useful. I use Chi Straight guard after a shower when my hair is damp. I go to sleep without blow drying my hair, but by letting it air dry. When I wake up, my hair is very wavy. I brush through it and apply a dime-sized amount of Chi Silk Infusion to my hair, concentrating on the ends. I then proceed to flat iron my hair in sections. When finished, I apply a very tiny amount of Chi Silk Infusion again. The results are incredible, making my hair silky, soft, and shiny. Definitely my holy grail product.
Seems quite good so far.

I got this for Christmas but have only used it once so far. It did not seem to straighten my hair immediately, even on the highest heat setting, but then seemed to flatten out as it cooled. I have not used any other flat irons before, so I am not completely sure how they should work. It seemed to have the best features for a variety of hair lengths (at times mine is longer)which is the main reason I bought this one. My hair is currently medium length, thick, somewhat course and sort of wavy. Happy so far, but I am still experimenting.
