Since getting the Solia 1-1/4" flat iron about 3 weeks ago i have really enjoyed using it. I previously owned a CHI and i have to say I think I like this one better. I can set my own temperture which is great. It dosen't pull my hair which the CHI did time to time. The solia looks professional and the travle mat that came with it is awesome because i can use the straightner put it in the mat then right into my bag, and not having to worry about it needing to cool first. And the price is great! Cheaper than the CHI and in my opinion has better results. It seems like my hair is shinner and less knotted. So all in all great product!
Curly Hair? GET the Solia!

I have thinner, very curly hair. Humidity is always a downer when it comes to my hair but I already know the tricks of the trade when it comes to styling this stuff :) The thing is, I wanted a change every now and then. I LOVE my curly hair. I love that I can do a number of different styles with the length it is, etc. But straight was always a problem. I never got it truly silky straight. Now, with the Solia, it's a cinch! It is a wonderful advantage and an investment that I will encourage you to indulge in if you are looking for that extra mmmph that you are lacking, in hair straightening. I researched the Chi and the Sedu. Would have bought the Sedu if it weren't so stinkin' expensive. So, with the reviews, product description, and more than competitive pric of the Solia, I gave it a try. Much to my satisfaction, the Solia has proven worthy and the results on my curly hair are wonderful! I love it! Don't spend extra when you can get the Solia, a straightening balm, shine spray and a dependable brush all for the price of the more expensive flat iron that does exactly the same with no extra product. Get it all and look amazing!

As you can see, I have very very curly and frizzy hair. It's like a giant beast! My hair is my worst enemy. It is a tangled curly frizzy nappy monster! It is impossible to make it nice! HOW ON EARTH COULD I FIX THIS?!

my daughter has the thickest hair I have ever seen on a human & I was very leary to buy this product because I was not familiar with it. my daughters have 3-CHI straight irons in the house but she wanted her own & was a little short on money for a CHI so we went with this one do to the rave reviews & I am here to tell you it works better than the CHI does on her VERY thick coarse hair thank you & I would highly recommend this product to everyone & the price is so much better....

Wow. All I can say is this is really an amazing product. I had previously owned a chi which I had bought almost a year ago, and it pails in comparison. I have extremely, extremely curly, think, and just overall frizzy hair. I've had hairdressers refuse to straighten my hair after they've cut it because they "don't want to be there all day." Well, I can say my solia definitely does not take all day. It makes my hair so smooth and straight, I love it! After straightening it I went on a bike ride in the extremely humid upstate ny weather, and my hair wasn't affected at all! I love my solia!
Also, another thing worth mentioning is that folica is a very decent company. :D Not only did the product arrive barely two days after it was ordered, but shipping was free, and my solia came with a nifty carrying case and a little mirror with a thank you card from the company. That along with the awesomeness of the solia made my day. THANK YOU FOLICA! Next time I need any other hair products, I'll come here. :D

ok so i did my research on flat irons for like a year before i got this one. at first i was leaning towards buying a chi because my friend had one and she sweared by it. but i noticed that when i used her chi even with heat protection my hair smelled kinda like burnt hay or something like that. I finally went with the this one because it was more in my budget than the sedu and i had seen this folica site in my seventeen issue.
i only posted an after picture but normally my hair is curly and i like my curls but i have a lot of them and there not like afro curls either my hair is soft and sometimes frizzy. Since i live in texas the humidity is killer. I set the flat iron on the highest setting and i straightened my hair in like and hour. when i do my bangs it takes like two minutes and i set the hear at 300. After flat ironing my hair was silky and it looked flatter not voluminous like when my hair was curly. Oh and my hair didnt smell burnt at all. and the first day i wore it straight it rained and my hair was still stick straight even with all the humidity , i only had the tiniest bit of frizz. nothing that frizz balm didn't cure tho.
so yah i definetly recommend this product to anyone it beats a chi hands down.
ps- it doesnt snag your hair at all either. i forgot to mention that.

I needed another straightner and i've been through quite a few. im mixed with african-american and mexican and its hard to find an actual staightner that works instead of getting my hair pressed at a beauty shop. So i looked at many reviews and found this straightner for less than $90. ive spent over $100 on atleast 3 staightners that did not get hot like they said they would. when i recieved my staighnter i instanly noticed a difference when i plugged it in. It did get as hot as it said it would it straighnted my hair completely without making it frizzy staight. i LOVE this straighnter and reccommend it to anyone. I bought it in May and havent had any problems like i would normally would have with the other staightners that i've had.

Wow. My sister ordered this solia and I just had to see how it compared to my chi. My sister is so smart, she discovered this very useful website to help all of us better manage our frizzy-hair. Before that, I had assumed that my chi was pretty much the best straightner you could get, I now know better and will constantly check this site for help! This solia worked wonder on my hair, oh and my split ends are natural (I need to take care of that, hee hee)

this iron is by far the greatest straightening iron i've ever used...even better than the CHI iron i used to have. it heats up soooooo fast and instantly straightens. i have fairly thick hair that is naturally wavy and this iron really smoothed all my waves!!! worth the money!!!

I almost bought a CHI and am glad I didn't! The Solia is PERFECT! Everytime I do my hair in the morning, I leave feeling like I just left my stylist! It was the best purchase EVER! AND it comes with the pouch! so travel friendly. It's less then the CHI and I think BETTER! Thank you, I'm highly enjoying my investment! :)

I have had my solia for two years now and it still does wonders. It's still amazining every time I use it and the response is always the same from others...they just can't belive how my hair goes from short and nappy to just wow. I used to straighten my hair about every other month. The solia gets easier to use and my hair become better every time. I love this iron!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My hair looks better then most peoples $80 every six weeks relaxers. Its softer,shiner and easier to manage!!!!!! Just but it already!!!

I purchased this flat iron after reading most of the reviews. I just have to say that I love it! It totally straightens my hair within minuets. I don't really have to blow dry my hair straight I just dry it and run the flat iron through it and my hair is perfectly straight. I recommend this iron to everyone!

This is a really awesome flat iron, definitely worth the money. I bought this iron a year ago, and it was amazing. It had a 1 year warranty I think and lasted through it. The swivel chord I think worked against it because in the end my iron stopped getting power. The two pictures I submitted show you the two different ways I styled my hair. The wavy hair was done more recently, and the straight style is dated. This is the best iron I've ever owned and i can't wait to get it the PINK ONE :P
By the by, i got it from this site, which is... AMAZING.

this is my first hair straightner, its great.for best results i think good shamppo and conditioner(must) and without using any gel or hair products i have results like i went in the hair salon. i do use citrus shine hair shine serum after i am done and it took 10-12 minutes for 1st week and now so that i am use to i am get done in 5-7 min.best part it stays like that till i wash my hair amazing.

Im mixed with Filipino and Black and for a while I was using the GoldNHot Ceramic Flat iron found in most beauty supplies on the east coast, but all that did was toast my hair. I could smell my hair cooking! I found this website through Google, and read the reviews of several women and looked at their pictures. Being a struggling college student I didnt want to just spend $88. But they have this great 30 Day M/B Garauntee. I wasnt too satisfied with the 1 1/4 size because it couldnt curl my hair the way I wanted it too, so I exchanged it for the 1 inch (same size as my GoldNHot) and We'll see what happens! Im sure it will be great! (Will post under 1 inch reviews in about a week w/ before and after pics)
The only products that I use in my hair are
VO5 Moisturize Hot Oil Treatment (once a week) VO5 Leave in Conditioner (every other day) Isoplus Oil Sheen Spray (maybe once every two days)
This is a great product!

I had gone to the hairdressers and gotten a new haircut. It was the type that you want to keep straight. I have been trying to get that effect with my hair for some time now. My hair is naturally very wavy almost curly. The hairdresser even asked if I had a perm. Well I really don't like when my hair curls up so much as along with the curls comes frizziness! So I bought the flat iron and tried it out and the first time it worked so well that I couldn't believe it! For the first time in my life I was able to duplicate what the hairdresser had done for me in the salon! Even my husband was amazed at the results. So now I use it all the time and it is so easy to use. It is always ready for use when I finish drying my hair. And the best part is that my hair is just as straight the next day too! My bi-racial daughter has an incredibly massive head of thick curly hair. She had been begging for a long time to have her hair straightened. She asked for a flat iron for her birthday so I searched online for a good one. Came across this sight and after reading so many positive reviews I purchased one. I got advice from here and friends about products to use. Our routine is wash with Pantene Pro-V daily moisture renewal shampoo or Shaklee ProSante shampoo and condition with Shaklee ProSante conditioner. At first I went all out and got NeXXus heat protexx and the results were ok. Her hair was still very "big". While comparing products I found that the top listed ingredients in VO5 Miracle Mist were identical at 1/3 of the price. We tried it and I must say the results were so much better. It takes about an hour to do it all and I set the temp between 375 and 425. I'm very happy with this product and so is my daughter. The first picture I've posted is just before our first use. Since I can only post 2 photos I can't show the difference in the 2 products. The after pic is using the VO5. Thanks to all!
So Far no Glitches--- I hope it lasts

Just a while ago, I thought my Solia broke. The past few year Ive only used it like maybe 10 times bec. Im too busy to fuss about my hair.
I was told that there was no defect. It was an error in my part because I accidentally touched the reset button. What do I know about electrical circuits.
Anyway-- in terms of quality, Im happy with it. I can do my extremely long hair in 5 minutes. Of course its not perfect but if you have the right straightening lotion, you'll be fine. Heat activates its straigtening power. I use lanza smoother and other brands as well. For now my hair like garnier shampoo and condition for smoother hair, dove repair and neutrogena. I splurge with my hair when i feel like it and you'll see with my pic why.
Because my hair is long, I need to make sure the ends are healthy. Solia is a good brand. I cant compare it with Chi or Sedu because Ive never tried those.
I highly recommend it because it works.
PS. always use a good hair serum/straightening balm. It does help.

Family, friends, coworkers... they can believe how great my hair looks!! Did you go to the salon? NO -- I DID IT MYSELF IN JUST 30 MINUTES!! I'm actually using it from damp hair and it work great! My hair is sooo smooth and shiny... no burning, no breakage... I just love it! TOTALLY RECOMMENDED!
