ok so let me jux say tht the solia is probably the best straightener ive evr had.! i have thick nd curly hair ||evn tho it doesnt look like it in the picture(curly hair is pic #2) || but anyway the solia would straighten it i like a hour, which isnt tht long 4 me, ive had the solia 4 about a year but it recently broke *tear* *tear* but im gettin the purple one soon.!yay.! lol. ive had the maxis, a wet 2 straight nd a conair.. for me none of them worked. they all left my hair lookin dry nd damaged more than it is. wit the solia my hair looks healthy nd feels soft 2, evn tho i have alot of split ends. me nd my sister both have the same thick nd curly hair ns we both use the solia, evn tho she uses it more than me, nd we luv it.! unfortunely i cnt straighten my hair until my new one comes in.. so i am aniextly waitin for it. || pic #1 is straighten wit the solia ns pic #2 is my hair curly. || hopes this helps.!

I've had this flat iron for 3 months now. It's a great flat iron! I love it!!! I always wanted a iron that would leave my hair straight, smooth and shiny, this flat iron does this. I wanted my hair to look like natural staright, you know that some staighteners leave your hair straight but it looks like you straightend your hair. Well this flat iron leaves your hair nice, looks like yo have natral staight hair. I recommend this product 100%!!!!

I was about to buy a Chi because of all the hype, but then I read all the wonderful reviews on this site about the Solia, and the awesome pictures convinced me to get it!
It is absolutely fantastic. My hair is thick and wavy and it remains straight until the next time I wash it, no matter how humid it is outside, and it doesn't feel or look damaged at all.
I'd used the Conair ceramic iron for years and although it did a great job considering it was so cheap, the scissor-type design was very uncomfortable after a while. The Solia is so comfortable and does the job in no time! I hope it lasts for many many years, my cat pulled the cord once and dropped it to the floor, and thank god it turned back on!

I bought this solia maybe a month ago, although it is great it does have it flaws. after reading all the comments it built up my ideas about it... after 2 weeks i could start to smell it when i begin heating it up. It definitely gets my hair straight, but with the smell i'm not to happy. i do have extremely thick hair, although it is only shoulder length it still takes me a full 30 minutes to straighten it. i love curling my hair with it! it is wonderful but not what i thought it would be

I had a Conair for quite a while but it started to get really bad. Not heating up and ruining my hair. So, I went to Folica and found the Solia. Not only is it at an affordable price but is straightens hair perfectly! Doesn't snag or pull. There is no buring smell and it comes in HOT PINK!(YaY!) WORTH EVERY PENNY!

I absolutely LOVE this straightener!! I'm half African-American, and most straighteners get my hair straight, but it's still poofy. And don't even get me started about any humidity, it's a disaster! The Solia makes my hair so sleek and so shiny and it STAYS that way! I curled my sister's hair and it turned out so beautifully! I would recommend this straightener to anyone and EVERYONE. The only thing I'm even vaguely disappointed about is that it doesn't run through my hair as smoothly as some of the reviews say it does. It sputters and jerks through my hair, but I'm thinking that it might just be something about my hair because it glides through my sister's hair just fine.

This iron has the ability to straighten my hair in like ten minutes if I do it quickly. It keeps my hair straight for days and even though I live in the most humid environment it prevents my hair from frizzing. Also, it doesn't make my hair feel brittle, dry, or damaged like other irons. It feels silky and smooth and soft. It's completely awesome my whole family has it and most of my friends now since they always used to try and borrow mine. I recommend this to anyone who wants a professional style straightening.

I bought this flat iron a few days ago,and have had it for maybe 4 now,only been using it for 3 days but it is by far the best thing I've ever gotten for my hair. I'm African American with fine,shoulder length hair.I have baby hair that refused to go away and would leave humps on the sides of both my hair-even after a relaxer.I bought the Solia after getting annoyed with the cheap straighteners that smoke and take over 30 minutes to straighten.The Solia heats up quick but doesn't show smoke like the others-I also have yet to burn myself which is a shock to my friends and family.It does what it says,my hair is incredibly soft after using it and shiny.The baby hairs finally lay down,which is all worth the money for me.My only advice if you do purchase the straightener is to invest in some heat protection-although it doesn't show heat or smell like it is even releasing heat the thing is hot and could easily burn away at your hair.I use motions heat spray-their products work for me,but I think most heat products will do the job.
I HIGHLY recommend this product for anyone that needs a quality straighter that doesn't cost an arm and leg,doesn't like to spend FOREVER on doing her hair and wants to keep hair looking healthy and happy.

Ok so i've had sooo many straighteners and the best one so far has to be the sedu, the new one inch. My girlfriend and I tried this one after my sedu, and it is good, it gets our hair pin straight, but it also snags and pulls our hair. We wouldn't recommend it if you don't want your hair snagged, but overall it does its job well. By the way, my hair is medium length and soooooooo curly. My girlfriend's hair is short and extremely curly as well. The one inch is best for people with short-medium length hair.

I am a Caucasian male who has thick curly hair, and I hate it! I once have had my hair chemically straightened and it did not last over two weeks. I have tried a department store straightener and it just took too long and was frustrating to use since my hair would stick up and curl in weird ways--I had to go over the same spots again and again twisting my hair in the opposite direction. I just thought this was going to be my everyday battle, until I tried a professional hair straightener a friend of mine had in preparation for a wedding. My hair was straightened quickly and easily, and I knew I had to get one.
After two days of using this product, I would recommend it to anyone! I just crank up the heat to 450 F(since my hair has horrible curls) and just go to town for a few minutes... after about 15 - 20 minutes my hair is shiny and ever so straight.
GUYS DON'T BE AFRAID TO GO STRAIGHT, THIS WORKS FOR US! A MAN'S HAIR STRAIGHTENER WITH MORE POWER!!

i'VE ONLY USED A CHI AND GOLD-N-HOT.
THE CHI NEVER REALLY WORKE THAT WELL, IT JUST DIDN'T DO A GOOD JOB.
THIS ONE IS AWESOME. IT ONLY TAKES A FEW SECONDS TO HEAT UP. IT CURLS MY HAIR PERFECTLY AND IT WORKS WAY BEtTER THAN THE CHI.
IT MAKES MY HAIR LOOK PERFECT AND IT ONLY TAKES ME LIKE 7 MINTUES TO STRAIGHEN IT.
I LOVE IT.
IT WAS DEFF WORTH THE MONEY.

This is my 2nd flat iron, but my first quality one. Heats up quickly, & smoothes out my thick, kind of coarse hair really easily. Styling product buildup cleans off easily. Swiveling cord is nice - never gets tangled. Size is perfect for short hair, but still handles bigger sections well.

This straightner did everything i hoped it to do...swivel cord, dosn't snag on hair, heats up way better than my cheapo one, and leaves my hair smooth and shiny. It actually FEELS healthier and silkier when im done, unlike the cheap straightners....it also leaves my hair straightned for a longer time cuz i only wash my hair everty 2-3 days and it keeps it straight EVEN when i put in a pony tail! i would highly recommend

This is the best hair straightener ive ever used. it straightens ever lock and curl i have and makes it super straight like joe and kevins hair i look like them and look even better with my hair straightened then curly who agrees hahaha my hair looks great i cant stop smiling its soooo great!!!!!!!!!! everyone should get it because the jonas brothers use it and because it uses tourmaline. EVERYONE GET IT BECAUSE I NICK JONAS LOVE THIS STRAIGHTENER!

I love this straightener. It works wonders. My hair is generally frizzy, and has nasty curls, and using any other straighteners just doesn't work. The other straighteners tend to fry my hair, break it, leave it frizzy, and make it smell like burnt hair. Whereas this straightener leaves my hair shiny, and smooth to the touch. It doesn't break my hair or make it smell. It straightens faster, and leaves nothing curly. In my opinion ,overall, its amazing and totally will pay off within the first use!. I would highly suggest it to anyone out there :)

I have had my Paul Brown Hawaii straightener for over 4+ years and while it isn't broken after 4+ years it isn't working as good as it was in the beginning. After reading these reviews and seeing that hair stays straight in the humid weather and in the rain, I thought that I would give another straightener a try.
As you can see from my pictures, the texture of my hair is fine, but I have a lot of it. My hair is relatively easy to straighten. I have to say I wasn't fully impressed with this iron. My hair still gets frizzy easily out in the humid weather and will curl up immediately in the rain. I absolutely loved, LOVED, loved my Paul Brown Hawaii straightener immediately and I didn't feel the same way about the Solia. I thought about returning the flat iron after the first try , however I decided to give the Solia a second try and I did like how easily it curled the ends of my hair upwards. I just got 9+ inches cut off my hair and my other straightener didn't curl it up the way the hair-do was intended.
All in all, I have tried MANY straighteners and while the Solia doesn't live up to the Paul Brown Hawaii flat iron (which they no longer sell by the way) it SURPASSED the Hot Tools flat irons, Chi flat irons amongst others.
I hope this has helped you make a more informed decision when it comes to picking a flat iron. Look at my pictures and realize that my hair does last all night through dancing and most nights out when I wake up in the morning my hair still looks decent.

Although I do not straighten my hair regularly when I do this product is so wonderful! I live in HUMID Texas and my hair stays straight all day. I've owned this product since 2005 and it's lasted even after a few falls. I clean it with alcohol when it needs it (which is not often at all). This is the BEST flat iron... even friends who have used it LOVE it!

I Have Had A Cheap Drugstore Brand For Quite A While And Everytime Using It Was Horrible!!! It Burned My Hair It Also Made My Hair Smell Burnt! After A Year The Plates Broke in Half And I Have Decided To Get The SOLIA. To me This Flat Iron Works Wonders It Left My Hair Nice And Soft And No Burning Smell YAY!!! As You See My Hair Is Thick And Curly, For My Hair To Turn Out Like This I Had To Blow Dry And Then Straigthen But Voila! Solia Gets The Job Done. Although I Do Recommend Purchasing The 1 3/4 for Longer Hair But I Have Long Hair It Works Ok I Bet The Bigger One Works Better But I Will Buy Both Because The 1- 1/4 Makes Cute Curls Without Curling Iron!
