NOT AS GOOD AS SEDU

I HAVE HAD BOTH THE SOLIA AND SEDU FLAT IRONS. THE SOLIA IS NOT AS GOOD AT GETTING THE SLEEK LOOK AS THE SEDU. MY SOLIA IRON STARTING OVERHEATING AND BURNING MY HAIR EVEN ON A LOW SETTING. THE SOLIA ALSO PULLS THE HAIR A BIT. HAVING BOTH I PREFER THE SEDU BUT EVEN THE SEDU IRON DOES NOT LAST AS LONG AS IT SHOULD. I HAD TO HAVE TWO REPLACEMENTS WITHIN A YEAR.
AMAZING

After reading all of the outstanding reviews I decided to purchase the Solia Tourmaline 1" flat irons. What I didn't pay attention to was who was giving the reviews. This product seems to do wonders for fine texture hair like most Caucasians have. This iron didn't make my hair shiny and it even felt ruff. However, I realized like with my inexpensive Conair infinity flat irons, I needed to use oil due to my hair being chemically treated. This product work moderately well. I'm an African American with premed normal texture hair. My hair actually looked dry when I tried to straighten it without oil and using (a thermal protective spry). I was really impressed with folica.com on how fast I received my order (received within three day); however, I didn't receive my free heat proof bag like I ordered. I contacted customer service and they're sending it right out. What I do like about this flat iron it doesn't pull your hair like some of the other flat irons I've used before. The verdict is still out. I'll try them out for a while thank goodness that folica.com have a 30 day money back guarantee. So will see!!
Good buy

The iron heats up amazingly fast and stays at a constant temperature which is nice. It definitely glides through my hair effortlessly and feels less damaging than using any of my previous irons. I have naturally very curly hair and it comes out smooth & straight. However, it will wave up in very humid or sweaty conditions which i think is true in most cases. Love the heat pouch!
alright

I bought this flat iron, and when i got it. I tried it out right away. It took me about 20 Mins. to flat iron my hair. I'm asian, and have VERY VERY thick hair. Although i like my hair pin straight at the ends it didn't give it that look. I think because of the moving plates. Its suppose to give it a natural look. If you get what i'm saying. So it doesn't look like you used a flat iron. I thought it took forever to get my hair straight. It made it silky, and shiny. It was a bit soft. But although i was disappointed, i kinda like it. And I'm starting to like the natural look of flat iron instead of a pin straight look. So it's pretty good from my opinion.

So when it got here, I opened it up and it worked great! My hair was straightened in 10 minutes..
but there are some problems:
-It makes my hair staticy, like when you put a balloon on your head.
-After never being dropped, the light crapped out when you set it to 300 degrees. That was on it's second use.
This was a big improvement compared to my $12 sunbeam.
However, if you are going to spend money on a good one, get the ghd.
Not so great after 10 months of use

I bought the Solia flatiron last September instead of the Chi because it had better reviews. Now, almost 10 months later, I'm sending it back because it takes forever to straighten my hair (which is barely wavy and not too thick in the first place) and because the results don't last- the ends of my hair start waving again a couple hours after i iron them. I loved this iron when I bought it but after only 10 months of mild use (only once or twice a week) its far inferior to my friends 3 year old Chi.
Love it!

I bought this straightener last March. It does an adequate job. I have two complaints: 1)my hair sometimes would get caught on the edges of the staightener, pulling my hair and at time pulling my hair out. 2)I had the temp set at about 350 and noticed that my hair was getting dried out. I would turn down the temperature a little, but then it wouldn't staighten well or my hair would frizz up again quickly especially on humid days. I dropped my Solia and now need a new staightener. I will not be getting another Solia again. There has to be someting better!
Great for some just not for me ..

I originally came on this site looking to purchase a CHI iron but after reading the reviews on the Solia i decided to go for it instead. Its a great price and the shipping was extremely fast but the iron was a let down. I have very thick naturally curly hair that tends to frizz. The Solia took me nearly 25 - 35 mins to straighten my hair and after about 2 hrs my hair was frizzy again. Im sure this iron works great for some but not for me :)
Best i have ever used

I have been using a straightener for over 5 years, and I have used several different types ranging from 20 dollars to 200 dollars. Out of all the ones I have used none have come close to the quality and performance of the Solia. My hair has never been more smooth, more straight, or more shiney than it is when I use the Solia. Not only does it work well and make my hair look great, it also is the easiest straightener I have ever used. I have cut the time it takes to straighten my hair in half and only get better results than I did with my other straighteners. To all thoes considering buying a straightener, the Solia is the sure number one pick!
amazing!

OMG, I love my Solia so much! My hair is dry and damaged from other straighteners and curlers, but when I straighten it with this one, it leaves my hair shiny and fabulous. Plus, it only takes me about 10 minutes to fully straighten my hair!!
Disappointed

I have used the Chi for years but got fed up because it stops working well after a few months. My best friend raved about this one so I tried it. I was so disappointed that an hour later my hair was getting frizzy and wavy. I have very curly hair and this product is probably better for hair that is just naturally wavy like my friend's. It doesn't pull your hair out like the Chi but I would not recommended it for very curly hair.
the best

i love this flat iron. after checking out the many websites for flat irons & reading all the reviews, i ordered the Solia. it was easy to use and my hair looked great. this iron does work on damp hair and it didn't add a lot ot time to my morning. after using it once, i noticed that i didn't have the usual "fly away frizzies" and my hair was a lot smoother and even softer. a lot of my friends and co-workers noticed the difference and even thought i had gotten a new haircut. i told all my friends that i got it at Folica and told them that you had great prices and a lot of products to choose from.
HOLY COW.

Alright, I gotta say, the Solia 1 1/4 inch flat iron is amazing, especially for the price. I ordered it last thursday, and recieved it on Wednesday (I live in Canada), and when the UPS man came to my door, I signed for it and ran upstairs to try it out. It only took like 30 seconds to heat up to 370, which I was really impressed with, and when I ran it through my hair, which is quite thick, with medium length ringlettes, it glided through without pulling, and got it pin straight in 2 strokes. Also, I practiced curling my hair with it, and if you do it right, you get perfect bouncy curls. I've had a Conair, Wigo, Chi, Sedu, and I have to say, the Solia takes the cake. In my opinion, it does a better job than the 1 inch sedu, for way cheaper. SO IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A GOOD FLAT IRON, THAT CURLS TOO, GO FOR THE SOLIA, YOU WONT BE DISSAPOINTED.
this is a terrible flat iron

If I could give this flat iron a rating of 0, I would. I bought this as a replacement to my Sedu because it was cheaper. Unfortunately, you get what you pay for! This iron takes forever to straighten my hair and dries it out terribly. About 15 minutes later it's curly again. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. I'm stuck using this piece of junk now.

I'm ordering a second Solia today, I've had mine for FOUR YEARS strong before it's decided to not turn on. I have thin, but very curly hair and it gets pin straight and gorgeous with solia. From 15 to 19 years old, I have not one complaint. THANK GOD FOR SOLIAAA!!!
I've had mine for 4 years!!!!

This is the best flat iron I have ever used. I bought mine 4 years ago when my stylist introduced me to flat irons. I went through maybe 5 of them until I found Solia Tourmaline. It simply works!!!! My hair is untame, curly, and ultra course. I've had long and short hair for the past 4 years. This works on every one of my styles. And I love the way it perfectly flips the ends of my hair for evening looks. Now it's time for me to buy another one. The heating element is finally going out. Buy hey, it's been 4 years right!!! The best $80 I have ever spent. Buy it, you won't regret it!!!!! Frizz??? What frizz!!!!!!!!
