I had this flat iron for 3 years and it still was working like it was when I first bought it. The only reason I do not have it anymore is because my 1 year old decided it needed a bath (don't worry it wasn't plugged in). And that was the end, so it would have lasted alot longer. I also will buy another one, these are the best flat irons around. I have tried many and I will never stray.
Great iron

I purchased this iron based on the consumer reviews, plus I wanted something a little more healthy for my hair than the old iron I was using. I must say, this is a great iron! Its gets hair very straight without making it look fried and damaged. It gets VERY HOT so be careful! I have only had it for about a month so hopefully it will last a while. Oh, and the heat proof pouch is great because I have a young son who is very curious so I am able to use the iron and put it away before he notices it.

I purchased my Solia Flat Iron after my high-end flat iron broke after 2 years. To my surprise, it does a better job than my last one which was twice as much money. It is a well-made, sturdy iron with the neatest design and it's so nice to have the adjustable heat control. I use it almost every day to either straighten or curl my hair. My hair looks and feels healthy after each use. I love it!
Cord on 1-1/4-inch iron stopped working

After about 1 year exactly the cord on the 1-1/4-inch flat iron stopped working properly. There seems to be a short in it and it causes the flat iron to go on and off instead of staying on to heat up to your selected heat setting.
I the 3/4-inch on the other hand still works beautifully, even after 3 years of constant use!
pretty good flat iron

I'm just going to do a list of pros and cons.
CONS:
*I used to have a crappy Conair flat iron with 2" plates. Maybe I should have bought a new iron with wider plates, but using my new Solia it took AT LEAST 15 extra minutes added on to my usual 30mins to my hair routine.
*The flashy light is really really distracting for me.
*Even at 450 degrees, I have to go through the same section of hair about 3 times going pretty slowly in order to get good results.
PROS:
*This iron has done WONDERS for my hair. My hair is exceedingly frizzy and thick to the point where random people I don't know will comment on the thickness of my hair. Using the Solia, my hair is flat. My friends always joke and say my hair is really poofy/fluffy, but when I used this iron, my friends looked SHOCKED. They didn't even say anything for awhile, and when they did, I got some serious compliments.
*It heats up really quickly
*Very little snagging
*I like how I can curl with this iron and i can also create waves and crimps.
*This iron can get really hot, and I need all the heat I can get to make straightening my hair as easy as it can be.
*The heat proof pouch is great! A huge convenience.
So as you can see, I would say the good things about this iron outweigh the bad ones. I'd have given it five stars except for the time issue.

I recently (1 week ago) bought this flat iron from Folica and it is sooo good!
It gets my hair smooth, straight and shiny.. I previously owned a conair and now that product result is yuck compared to what does to your hair! This doesnt snag my hair atall - Conair used to. It makes my hair look hydrated too. No lying guys but I have received atleast 2 compliments on my hair every day for a week now. One person at work told me - Whatever you have done to your hair.. keep it that way, your hair looks sooo beautiful! :) Of course, I am going to!
I highly recommend it.

I got a Solia for my birthday, was really excited about it, used it 5 times, and boom it just quit working. And now they want me to PAY more money for their guarantee? I dont think so, they need to send me a free one. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!

This iron is better than any other iron I've had. I've had a CHI and a T3. The Solia kicks those other irons butts. The Solia leaves my hair looking and feeling very healthy and shiny. My CHI fried my hair and pulled at it. I would NOT buy another CHI. If you are looking for a good flat iron, I would highly recommend the Solia, I am more than satisfied with mine!

My mother, sister and I have shared a solia 1" fat iron for FOUR years. Recently it started taking longer than usual to heat up (It heats up SUPER FAST), so I'm afraid it's seen the end of it's days. This flat iron has worked well always, it's the best product you can get and is WORTH the money. The Chi I had before only lasted 4 months! Solia has a smoothing effect for frizzie hair, something that the other irons don't do for me.

Wow this flat iron is amazing. I just ordered it a week ago in pink and I have no complaints. I am african american so my hair is thicker than most. This flat iron made my hair feel like silk along with using the Chi silk infusion!!! Please buy the Solia you wont regret it ;)

After having a CHI break on me for the third time I got the Solia, best purchase I have ever made, spent about $50 less on the Solia than I would replacing my CHI. I could rave about this product forever all I have to say is I'm already looking into buying some as gifts and buying all my tools from Solia.
LOVE!!!

I got this flat iron based on the reviews, and mainly to straighten my wavy hair. I seriously dislike the cord, it's constantly tangled, and I spend about ten minutes untangling it every morning. While it does straighten my hair, and heats up quickly, I was hoping for more in an $80 flat iron.
Best flat iron!!(:

I've had this iron for quite a few months now, and this is my fourth flat iron. The quality is very good, I would say it's extremely durable and would last a long time, and it doesn't feel like just dead plastic in your hand. At the same time, it's heavier than some.
My hair is very curly, puffy, and frizzy, so before straightening I apply some redken smooth down serum (something like that), and that stuff really works well for me. But this iron doesn't seem right for big jobs like mine: thick, abundant, and very curly. It never gets completely straight, always a few waves, and my ends tend to frizz out a bit. I have to do small sections at a time, and go over multiple times, which takes a good deal longer. Not good for hurries. On a lucky day, things look okay though.
The size is a bit more cumbersome than most (for example compared to a chi original, which I've tested). The color choice is good, I like personalization, and the around 1 min heating time is no bother at all. I don't ever use the top heat setting, though I know it might go faster, because I've heard damage horror stories.
Basically, this iron would be perfect for people with strong arms and thinner, wavy or kinda curly hair.
Better than the CHI? I think not.

I bought this flat iron as an upgrade from my conair, so the solia was a dream to me at first. I'm Italian/Portuguese (azores) and my hair is thick, curly and plain out of control. It took me about 45 minutes down from an hour and a half to do straighten my hair. My hair still curled & poofed up almost immediately when outside, but I thought it was normal. Some parts of my hair would stay bumpy and unstraightened no matter how many times I went over it. I started getting tired of it snagging my hair 24/7 so I got a nano CHI since my hair dresser has it. It works so much better than the solia. My hair takes 15-25 minutes to do, never snags and my hair even stays straight overnight (humid or not!). Would only recommend this flat iron if you're too cheap to buy a CHI.
its not the best!

well, not to disapoint anyone, and this is my own opinion but i do not think it is the best. i just recently bought this on the 29th of july and i received it yesterday the 31st. the shipping was fast which is deff a plus when you want something so bad. i have not bought a flat iron since 6th grade and now im going into 11th. the one i have been using was about $60 and still to this day it does a great job. it was called a jillbre or something like that from your local sally beauty salon. but i decided it was time for a new one since my last one made my hair smell burnt. anyways so i dont think that this specific flat iron is worth the $80 i paid. i was very careful what to choose, because i almost went with a CHI but i didnt because it seemed as if the reviews for the solia were better than the reviews with the CHI. i really wanted purple but i had to get pink, which is still okay. the positives of it honestly makes my hair feel like silk, the heat levels on it are amazing and i dont use a serum or anything. the way it is shaped can flip your hair incredible i really like that. i can go over a strand of hair twice and its pretty straight, and i normally have wavy hair. with my old flat iron it took about 20 mins to do my hair and it takes about the same time with this one too. i still have to seperate my hair into 3 sections but thats because i have kinda thick hair, and when i want straight i want stick straight and i still havent found that flat iron that will do that. the negatives it still tugs and pulls some of my hair, i dont like how it sounds like its cracking when it glides through my hair either. but overall i do recommend this to people who like to spend a little bit of time on there hair, just because its a bit more expensive and professional brand does not mean its gonna work any better than any other kind, because this still works as good as my other one. i didnt bother putting up pictures, it doesnt really matter. but i guess if you decide on buying it you'll will have to find out and see for yourself, because like i said everyone has there opinions. :)
