Sent It Back, Bought A Sedu

I purchased the Solia flat iron last month from Folica.com. I was looking for an iron that would not make my hair dry and puffy after I was finished like the Chi Turbo did. Chi Turbo made my hair feel really dry afterwards. I read the reviews for Solia and the Sedu. Both flat irons had good reviews so I decided to go with the cheaper one, Solia.
That was a wrong move, because when I finished flat ironing my hair, it was still kind of dry and puffy no matter what products I put in it, just like the Chi. I used the same heat protecting products (Chi Silk Infusion or Fantasia IC Serum), like I did when I used the Chi. I ended up sending the Solia back and I purchased a Sedu 1 inch instead. I am so glad I did, because I am so happy with how straight my hair gets now. It actually looks shiny when I am finished, and it has body instead of puffiness, what a difference. By the way I am African American with coarse hair.
amazing!!!!! :)

I have curly/frizzy wavy hair, which was slightly damaged. I was blow drying and curling the ends to flatten them with a curling iron. I read the reviews and decided to try this iron. Now my hair is completely damaged and the ends are fried and split. Every time I use it I have to trim my ends off. Now I cannot use it anymore and I have to wait for my hair to grow back.

this straightner is absolutely amazing. i love it. i used to have a vidal sassoon. the gold plates peeled off and started burning my hair. plus the little gold peices fell onto my hair and clothes. this solia hasn't done anything of the sort. it works really well and i love the fact that it only takes 30 seconds to heat up. every morning i have to rush to get to school. the solia always heats up fast and is easy to use. i also love the fact that it came with a nift little carrrier. i use it as a mat && to store it. plus the $88 was steal (: i encourage you to get it
Extremely pleased!

My hair is naturally curly, aka, "naturally nappy". It looks great the first day or two after I wash and condition, but that's it! The frizz and naps begin forming. Since I don't like to blow dry my hair, I needed a straightening iron that is suited for wet/dry conditions. I carefully chose the Solia Tourmaline Ceramic Ion Flat Iron (1-1/4"). I have long, medium thickness hair which only takes about 30 minutes or so to complete the look I want to achieve with the Solia. I can even give the ends a soft curl, leaving my hair looking like one of those perfect hair pieces. In other words, "movie star" hair.
Fast, efficient, versatile and more!

I got my Solia a couple of years ago and it rocks! I have coarse, thick, wavy hair and this iron makes my hair look and feel shiny and healthy. Its design allows me to curl and flip my hair any way I want and heats up fast.
The temperature settings allow me to adjust the heat so it's not so hot when I straighten my bangs. It's easy to handle and my hair doesn't get caught in it like my old Babyliss straightener which lasted me a only year.
I definitely recommend this product!
Good, but handle gets to hot

This straightener was really good, my hair is frizzy, and curly but it stayed straight, even when there was lots of mist. I don't like that the handle area got hot, making it difficult to fix my hair.

I spent months reading reviews, looking at beauty salons at all the different flat irons available trying to decide if i had to spend $150 on an iron or not. After reading many good reviews about the Solia, espeically the part about not grabbing hair, i purchased it. And I can not say enough good things about it. I have had it now for over a month and it works wonders! It heats up in just seconds, i dont have to wait and wait in the morning to style my hair.
It is the best product for a flat iron available for those of us that dont have the extra money. It was worth the wait.
Pretty good value for money

Not bad but I have a GHD in Australia and it is far superior. Though for a third of the price, the Solia is pretty good.

This is my first experience with a "professional" flat iron. Big difference from cheap dept store products. Heats up quickly, and one pass produces desired effect. Well worth the investment.
awesome

I used to use the conair straighteners and they were okay but this product is really great and I'm glad I dug down deep and spend the money. It was worth it! I works fast and makes my hair really sleek and soft.

Bought the flat iron, worked for approximately a month and a half and then it stopped working. It wasn't worth my money.
Get the larger one for long or thick hair

I ordered the 1 1/4 size since it seemed like the best all around. My hair is long and I have A LOT of it, but I wanted the plates to be thin enough to still use it as a curling iron. It worked well for curling, but it did take a long time to get through all my hair for straightening. I returned it for the Solia with the bigger plates. I highly recommend the larger size if you have long or thick hair. It's worth it to me to have that and just use a separate one for curling.
amazing!

This was the first major purchase of any styling tools, I usually stick to whatever I find at Wal-mart. I love this flat iron, the temperature dial allowed me to select my perfect setting to keep my hair healthy. Unlike the cheeped products the Solia keeps the frizzes away I can’t wait to see how it holds up to the summer weather.
Pretty Good

This is only the second flat iron I have purchased. It is much faster and easier than the Maxi-Glide. I didn't buy the Chi because I knew at least two people who had issues within the 1st year. Anyway, my daughters hair is extremely course and frizzy. It works good. Her hair stays straight for the day but does tend to get the curl back by the evening. She does use product but her hair is extremely difficult. I would most likely buy the same one again.
GREAT STRAIGHTNER
