I wavered between buying this flat iron or the chi. After reading reviews and noticing the longer warranty I chose the solia. Wow, may hair looks great, and I got a lot of compliments today!!! So, for less money, a longer warranty, and for a better job, chose Solia.

I was wavering about buying this flat iron or the Chi. I looked at the reviews, the longer warranty, the ability to return the item,and the better price, and chose the Solia. WOW, I love it. It works faster than the Chi with much better results.

I bought this because it was rated "one of the best" on this site, I don't know how it got that rating, but it doesn't deserve it at all. I have thin hair and with this iron it took me at least 30mins to straiten my hair, I tried a friends HAI digistick and did the same job in about 10mins. This straitener also get very hot on the outside where you hold it, which is not safe at all! I would recommend this to anyone. Take the money you would have spent on this and buy yourself a good flat iron (like HAI).

HATE HATE HATE this straightner!! Returned it 2 days after I bought it. I don't know why it has so many good reviews. It pulled my hair out every time i passed it through! I bought a cricket for half the price and I'm liking it better! Oh and PS- You have to pay for shipping back returns. Money just thrown away...

I've had this flat iron for about a month now, but I wanted to hold off writing a review until I became familiar with how to use it properly. This iron is a nice step up from my old Conair straightener.
Pros: really fast heat up time, doesn't pull hair, leaves my hair smooth and shiny.
Cons: I have to glide the iron twice over each section and 3 times over some sections. Believe it or not, I didn't have to do this with my Conair flat iron. However, if I had to it would have fried my hair. With the Solia, I can afford to run it through my hair several times and it doesn't cause damage.
Overall, this is the best flat iron I've owned so far, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a straightener that gets the job done!

My HerStyler/Forever flat iron stopped working after 18 months. I was really excited to try the SOLIA. I received it on Friday and was very disappointed by the results. After 2 hours it starts to feel rough and looks dry. On the highest temperature it is nothing compared to my old HerStyler. My hair does not feel smooth and silky. I don't have thick hair and with my old flat iron i did my hair in less that 10 minutes. With the SOLIA it's more time and no where near the same results. I will definitely be returning my flat iron and just get another HerStyler. Oh and it also pulls a lot on my hair! It also does not have a good grip on my hair like my old flat iron. I think maybe i will try the HAI.
if it didn't break off my hair, it would be a really good flat iron

gets hair straight - the only thing is, after i'm done, there are short ends sticking up everywhere and the floor is covered with hair. hair catches in the moving plates. this was my first iron, and i believed all the great reviews - so i thought this was normal. then i got a chi and no more broken hair!

I bought my Solia over 3 years ago and it STILL is performing wonderfully!!!! I used to have to buy a new flat iron every 6 months when I bought the cheap ones from Sally's, but this is by far, the BEST investment I have ever made in a hair styling tool! Highly recommended!!!

I love this flat iron!
I have very thick hair that has apparently three different types of curls and its annoying D:
But, this straightner I got it and I ran upstairs and straightened my hair, and it looked great!
My older sister keeps taking it because she wants to buy one too :o
Its a veery good buy for your money!
It makes your hair softer and shiner-final product.
There is NO FRIZZ TOO!

when i got my solia flat iron i used it right away to try it out and to see if it really worked,and it sure did=]] i have a lot of hair,its puffy,waivy,and its a hot mess but with solia flat iron my hair is just how i wanted it to be straight,silky,&& it looks healthy. i sure recommend solia..its the best flat iron out there and i dont regret spending my money on this product.

This straightener claims it gets to 450 it DOESN'T i'de say it gets to maybe 300, i have thick, curly hair, i had a straightener that was 50 dollars and did a better job than this, i only went to this because my old one would stink up the house when in use. This does keep your hair soft i must say, i put my finger on the blade and swift through it, didn't even burn my finger, i'm not sure if i just got a faulty one or if the straightener is like this period. I don't like getting perms and my hair dresser has one she uses on my hair that does the job. Yet this one can't, i would have to get a perm plus use this straightener for it to look thinner and straight. Honestly i would stick with sedu rather than this. These ratings may look good, but find out for your self and remember to return it before 30 days. This isn't folica's fault it's horrible it's the maker lol explains why its only 79.99

i had a sedu flat iron for about 2 years now and it wasnt working that great so i decided to get a new one. I bought this solia because it had amazingg reviewss and everyoen loved it. I tried it on my air dried hair an it was horrible. I had to go over each section about 4 or 5 times before it would actually be straight as how it was with my sedu. Since i straighten my hair at night i woke up thikning i would have perfectly straight hair. WRONG! my hair was poofy again. So before going to school i straightend it again and by the time i got home it was poofy again. I am so returning this straighten and buying either a sedu or chi.

I have always used the CHI Ceramic flat iron for more than 7 years and thought it was the best, until I tried the Solia Tourmaline Ceramic Ion Flat Iron. I have very curly, kinky, long hair and I love to straighten because my hair stays the way I have styled it, you with curly hair can relate. However, when it came time to buy another CHI my husband suggested I try something new so, we purchased the CHI digital. Don't bother awful, very heavy compared with the original CHI and Solia. The CHI digital did not get hot enough, I had to go over my hair a couple of times and even then it did not get the frizz out. We returned it to another company. My husband found this web site and read the the reviews on the Solia, I was reluctant but agreed to try it. What a blessing!!!! The Solia is the best. It glides through my hair and even straightens too much, I just had to turn the temperature down to correct. My hair remains beautiful all day and night. I do not have to go over my hair more than once to get the smooth results. The Solia is so light, no fatigue with this iron. For an added fun it also comes in some great colors too, I got the hot pink. My flat iron is something I could not live without. I am so happy to find a better product after all these years, THE SOLIA.

I bought 2 of these irons for my sisters as gifts. They wanted one ever since I bought my FHI technique because it works so well. I finally tried it and there really is no comparison. The iron feels light and cheap. My hair feels like it is being damaged when I straighten my hair, which is strange because the heat doesn't seem sufficient even at 450 degrees. It claims to be a tourmaline/ceramic iron but all I see on the iron is the description "ceramic" so I highly doubt it has that much tourmaline in it. Very huge disappointment for the 70 something dollars I spent.
This is the best flat iron ever!

I was new to flat irons and bought the Solia after reading many positive reviews. The first time I used it I knew I wouldn't need to try any other brands. I found it very easy to use and liked that I could control the heat settings. I set my iron to 350 degrees and find it perfect for my fine hair. I bought one for my daughter and she loves it too - says it's the best one she's ever used. Love the heat-proof pouch that comes with it too!

I love this flat iron!I have wavy hair which is fairly easy to straighten, but I could never get it perfectly soft and silky without spending a ton of time going over each strand multiple times. With the Solia iron, once is enough! My hair looks perfect, feels SUPER soft, and stays that way, even in humid weather! I was using all the right hair care and styling products, but I wasn't getting the results I wanted from my flat iron. Now I am! (And the heat proof pouch is genius!)
SO disappointed after SO much flat iron research!!!

Long review short, I was VERY disappointed. I read tons of reviews and watched lots of videos about this Solia iron. I waited a couple weeks, decided to fork up the money, and totally regretted it. I've been using a Hot Tools 3" iron for years, and after such glowing reviews, figured this Solia would be the flat iron of my dreams. It was not. I tried it on multiple heat settings (all the way to the hottest), with a combination of thermal protectant, silicone product, and "bare" hair, and was not happy with any of the results. I had to do tiny sections with multiple passes, and it was very time consuming. My Hot Tools iron blows this out of the water, and was MUCH cheaper. I am SO bummed about this, as I had such high hopes. I have hair that's a bit longer than my shoulder, and not particularly course, but is wavy/curly. I don't know how in the world these people can rave about this iron so much, unless they've never used a flat iron at all, or are using the worst/junkiest ones ever made. I didn't notice my hair being any softer/smoother (in fact, a little less so). It also tended to sort of snag my hair - didn't run through near as smooth as I'd hoped. I did not keep this iron, and felt compelled to write this review. This iron was not all I'd hoped for (or even close) and was a big disappointment to me!

I absolutely love this iron. It works beautifully, and the iron just glides through your hair, it doesn't pull on any of your hair either.
I feel like it leaves my hair in better condition than it was before, it makes my hair silk smooth and frizz free. I've used it on myself, and two other people and they too, have all said it was great.
It heats up in like 10 seconds to the highest degrees. It also straightens your hair so well that it stays straight all day long, even through humidity and rain. I would buy products from this company again!

I bought this Solia Flat Iron a month ago... And I LOVE it!! Along with it I bought the Got2B Guardian Angel Heat Protect and flatten... After a couple of uses my friends and family were telling me how much better my hair looked. I had been using my old and dying straightener and saw an immediate difference in my hair. It felt better, looked healthier and beautiful. I will always buy a Solia if I need to buy a new flat iron again.

I do not recommend this straightener to anyone!! This straightener has not worked as well as the "Best" reviews made it out to be. I have thick, frizzy hair and it does not get as straight as it would with the CHI. I have to go over the part that i a straightening numerous times. With my CHI i only have to go over twice per strand and it is straight. When i go outside my hair frizzes after 10 mins and all the time i spent doing my hair was a waste! With the CHI i could get rained on and it would still be perfectly straight.. I suggest you stick with what is known to work which is the CHI! Any competitor that thinks they can beat the one on top (CHI) is WRONG! CHI is the one i will be sticking with from now on :)
