1" - 1.25"? Plus how do I make spiral curls with it?
I've had all kinds of flat irons, and have tried all sizes ranging from 2-1/2"-1" have been used on my hair. I realized that the 1-3/4 inch or wider plates don't give me the polished look or style my bangs the way a smaller plated iron does. I have medium-long hair that is thick and wavy, but its very easy to manage and to try different things with it. I asked my stylist if should get 1" or 1-1/4" and she said they would work the same, so it really didnt matter. So I ordered the 1" but now I'm really worried (and confused) that it wont straighten my hair as well or make it as smooth. Should I return it and get the 1-1/4" ? Also is anyone able to make spiral curls with the Solia, if so, which size works best? Quick reply is appreciated...thanks :)

Well I have always used the 1" just cause I feel it works better than bigger flat irons. I think the bigger flat irons are for people who have super long hair. Plus if your wantting to curl with it you should most diffenetly go with the 1". By the way if you look at other peoples questions someone already asked how to curl with a flat iron. Two people replyed and answere and they both gave a good description of how to do it. I would take a look if I were you.

Since your hair is fine and not long, I think one inch (this model) is ideal for you.

well, if your hair is super thick and wavy, I would recommend that you use solia 1-3/4" instead of 1"

How's the grip?
I have baby fine hair that falls out of styling appliances easily however I don't want one that snags either. Can anyone tell me what I might expect with this flat iron with my hair type (shoulder length, layered flip)

Well it has a find grip and it really does not take long to do hair with it and the baby hair don't sweat it .It works on the smallest of hairs and is an excellant buy for you and is very compatible with diffent hair styles apseshily layers.

Well, I think you can survive a few months without a flat iron. Or you could buy a cheap $10-$20 1 as a "substutute" ieon.

As a parent myself I say don't purchase a cheap substitute as the person above me suggested. Then they'll just say you already have one and won't want you to get a new one. Hate to say it, it's just how we think :) Just wait it out a little bit and hold out for the good iron that you want. Sometimes for a bigger purchase we parents just want you to wait a little bit to make sure it's something that you really need. I practice this policy even for myself as some of my worst purchases have been impulse buys. Now I do the research, wait a bit, and if I still want it then I go for it. Good luck.

DAS system on 1
I'm interested in buying Solia's 1 inch model, but was wondering if it has the Dynamic Alignment System technology that comes on the 1.25 inch and 1.75 inch flat irons?

Which one to get?
I'm a guy who has thick and frizzy hair and it bothers me .. alot. I'm thinking about buying a flat iron myself 'cause blowdrying my hair daily is just completely screwing it up. And I don't know which one to get, either the 1 inch Sedu or this 1 inch Solia. both irons have extremely good reviews, can anyone help me?!?!?!! Haha, oh and I wanted to know if the plates on the 1 inch Solia move like on the other sizes. THANKS SO MUCH!!! <33

Since your hair is thick and frizzy, I would think Solia works better for you and 1" plates are flexible like the one with size 1-1/4"

Try to straightening your hair with Solia 1" on a higher setting and go over your hair twice. Use a straighting balm or serum before and after will help too
