my hair is about an inch and a half past my shoulder and is very thin and when i straighten it with my cheap $20 conair straightener, my hair does this thing (by the end of the day) where it flips out at the bottom (i guess its because of the lenght of my hair.) so my question is, if i buy this straightener, will my hair still do the little flip thing?should i go with 1 inch or 3/4? my hair is veryy thin. Question posted by lorin Mon Jan 14 2008 Submit your answer 1 inch or 3/4 inch????
I have straight hair, but i want this product so i can get rid of frizz and flatten my hair when needed. I also want to use it to curl my hair sometimes. My hair is pretty thick (but i usually get it thinned) and it is medium length. Should i get the smaller one or the bigger one??? Get the 1 inch, this 3/4 inch is for SHORT hair and bangs. I recommend when using this iron, put heat protection in your hair, so your hair dosen't get any more frizzy. If you end up buying the 1 inch, I recommend you buy & try the CHI silk infusion, it has heat protection in it and makes hair smoother and less frizzy. Both great products! | can you put the iron close to the scalp
i was wondering if the iron was safe to put near the scalp so i could get the kinky new growth. and would i burn myself with this iron? Question posted by vees Thu Nov 29 2007 Submit your answer Humidity
My hair is thin, fine and very curly. In the summer months it frizzes easily and begins to curl up again in very humid weather. I'm getting it cut short soon, with some very short layers on top and would like to buy a smaller flat iron to make things easier. Will this iron fight the humidity? Also, will i be able to create volume or is my thin hair doomed to be limp forever? Thanks in advance Question posted by Catherine Wed Jun 06 2007 Submit your answer | Reply by Nicole

All you have to do to create volume is straighten your hair upwards towards the ceiling.
And to get rid of frizz before you get out of the shower rinse your hair in cold water. It will close the cuticles so your hair won't frizz and it will be shiny. | What if my hair grows out?
Will the 3/4 still work as good as the 1"?Also, I want stick straight, smooth hair, but not flat. This was kind of answered previously, but someone mentioned it won't get as straight or something?Any advice would be great! Question posted by Naoto Wed Apr 11 2007 Submit your answer curls?

1. Start with dry or slightly damp hair. My suggestion is to shower the night before, throw it into a messy bun or braid, put a blast of warm air on it (if you have thick hair that takes a long time to dry), then go to bed.
2. Spray Bumble&Bumble Tonic Lotion or other detangler on your scalp and hair (drugstore.com).
3. Gently remove knots with a wide toothed comb. You need to have managable, unknotted har for this.
4. Do your hair in layers, and apply a de-frizzing or thermal protection cream like Biosilk before you straighten it.
5. Take a thin straightener like the solia and straighten your roots, a few inches at a time. Once you are all the way to the ends of the hair (don't let go yet!), wrap the hair AROUND the sides of your rounded off straightener until you get about 3/4 the way up the length of your hair.
6. Gently and slowly pull the straightener down the length of your hair, with the hair between the irons. The slower you pull it, the tighter your curls/waves will be.
7. Repeat for all hair.
8. Finish with a voluminizing serum like Redken Body Builder for thin hair, or a smoothin serum like Redken Undone for thick frizzy hair.
9. Enjoy your frizz free curly hair! | Sedu Vs. Solia?
I'm not sure if I should get the sedu or solia becase they both have very high reviews, so it is hard to decide.I like my hair to be straight and not flat but full.If that makes sense..So which iron is better in your opinion and why? solia is best cause it's not for stick straight looks, more like if you want volume at the top, and the solia does both, but the sedu is great at really straight hair, i have one. So i think solia is the best choice, cheaper too. | | Reply by Sidney

solia | thin hair
Hi, I am not sure if I should get Solia or Chi, but I'm leaning more and Solia because I heard Chi stops working after a couple of months. I have very baby fine thin hair which gets frizzy really easily cause it's so thin. ( I absolutely hate it!!) Will my hair get fried after using solia for a couple of months even if i use a heat resistant product? That's what i'm most scared of if I buy solia... This might be to late for you, but I have a chi and so do all of my friends accept one. The other one has a solia. We tried using her Solia once and everyone had much smoother results, so I say Solia. | crazy hair
hi, my hair is so crazy it just makes an afrow and frizzes and that's all the time unless I use alot of hairspray. But it still does it after 2 hours so my question is will the soila 3/4" will work for my hair. Question posted by mac Thu Jun 30 2005 Submit your answer | Reply by Annie

Hi,, I have the same problem. Ive been using the Solia for about 8 months now with good results. However, you may want to help your hair along by adding a product to keep your hair straighter also. I use KMS, Flat Out Relaxing Balm for thick to coarse hair. Its a non-chemical relaxer. This stuff is a gel, and heat activated, so you can put it on your hair before using the flat iron. It keeps my hair straight without touch ups for about 2-3 days. Best of luck to the nappy by nature guys an girls! | | Reply by Kacee

I use TRESemme Heat Tamer spray and like it very much. Spray on wet hair, dry and then straighten. Been using it a year (I wash and straighten about every 5 days) and no breakage and my hair seems very healthy. | what to get?
