1 3/4 or 1/14???
Please help!!!! I am considering buying this flat iron and really not sure which size I should get, can you please HELP!!! Should I get 1-3/4 so I can get to my roots better but will this still work good on my long hair?? I have thick natural curly hair which is usually frizzy after blow drying down to the middle of my back and when I do flat iron it I have a really hard time getting my hair closest to my scalp straight, will this product do that for me b/c my hair is also coarse (the Spanish in me)I have an extremely hard time straightening it. The last year I also damaged my hair with my store bought iron, the wet to set flat iron. The front of my bangs were fried and I looked like I started to go bald. It took me about a year for my hair to start coming back from this so I never want that to happen again. Will the Solia Tourmaline prevent this from happening? I would appreciate input so I don't waste my money.Thank you,

the 1-3/4 inch is better for the hair that is medium to long hair length & since you described your hair I would say splurge on the 1-3/4 inch. It cuts your straightening time in half. The 1-1/4 inch is better for short hair and is easier to reach the roots with. If you buy this one it will take a long while for you to straighten your hair. trust me, this is from experience.

i've just recently purchased the flat iron and it takes me 30 min max to straighten my hair. I'm black and my hair is shoulder length. The one thing I like most about it is that it just takes one slow stroke to straighten my hair "bone straight" with a shine. I don't know about Sedu...I was also debating whether to purchase that also. But I will say, when I came from the club, my hair was soaked from the humidity...And my biggest concern was if my hair frizzed up or became curly. LETS JUST SAY, MY HAIR WAS DAMP BUT STILL BONE STRAIGHT!!!

Bigger iron worth it?
Between the 1'1/4" and the 1-3/4" Solia irons.I keep hearing that a bigger iron is better for longer, thicker hair. But, I'm a really cheap person!...so I was wondering will an iron one half of an inch (1/2") bigger really make a difference?(I have thick, frizzy, dry, & curly hair.)

No it doesnt matter, what matters is the temperature, and thicker curly hair is wayyy easier if you do it in layers.

Curling with Flat Irons
I know the Solia 1" says you can flip or curl your hair with it...I'm kinda looking for bigger curls and I was wondering if anyone knew whether or not you can curl with the 1-3/4" version?

I tried....it doesn't work very well. I have both the 1 1/4 and the 1 3/4 and it makes a big difference. I get beautiful bouncing and behaving hair using the smaller of the two when I go to curl it, but I like the look of the bigger width better when straightening.

u can curl with any flat iron as long as the edges are round (this iron has that) but your curls will be bigger soft curls :)

My hair is also down to my elbows, and i some times like to curl it at the ends...but i would recomend the skinnier version of this flat iron. But it does work for staightening the top...but i always have a problem with the curls

YES it works wonderfully. I am getting ready to buy another one, my daughter and I share ours and I'd rather have my own. We live on the Texas Coast, humidity and all, this iron works wonders with our thick, kinky, curly hair.

It takes about 90 seconds depending on what setting you use. I set it to just under 375 degrees.

Does it work Overseas with Foreign Adapters??
I am traveling overseas and wanted to make sure that this flat-iron works with foreign adapters?? Does anyone know?? Or has anyone had a bad experience where it didn't work when they returned to the States??

I traveled to Europe (France, Italy, Greece)& my straightener worked with the adapter. I don't know if it works returning to the states because someone dropped mine & it broke while we were in Italy :(
