Damp Hair?
I'm thinking about getting this straightner because of it's good reviews and it you can flat iron damp hair with it. Has anyone tried flat ironing their hair w/ the solia when it is damp? Does it damage your hair?

i have done it when my hair is damp and it does not damage it in my personal opinion i would much rather straighten it dry because i am uncomfortable with putting something that hot on wet hair i just cant imagine that its at all good for my hair. it makes my hair a little bit frizzier i recommend straightening while its dry. but still this straightener is absolutely amazing i can't live without it.

i straighten my hair when it's damp because i find that if i straighten it when it's completely dry, it makes my hair very dry.

i find that when i try to straighten it damp, it takes me longer because i have to go over the hair 3 or 4 times. when i straighten my hair while it's dry, i only have to go over it once or twice. plus, my hair (curly, frizzy, etc.) is a lot smoother when i flat iron it dry.

Everyday use?
Is this flat iron safe for everyday use? I've read that some people will straighten it one day and the next it will still look as straight as if you'd just ironed it. Is this true or does it depend on your hair type? And what about humidity? I live in Florida, will my hair get all frizzy and gross after being outside for a few hours?

i believe this iron is safe for everday use. when you said you had read that u straighten it one day and it stays straight the next... i dont think it depends on your hair type i honestly think it depends on how you sleep.. lol well see heres my thinking..... if you're a wild sleeper and throw your hair all over the place and it gets all twisted up you might have creases and such in your hair thats how mine is. the next day you might just have to spend 2 or 3 minutes on touch ups to tell ya the truth. and about the humidity factor i travel all over the country for competetive softball and humidity has not once made it frizzy or "unstraight" i definitely think u should buy this straightening iron its the best!

the answer to your question is completely and totally 100% the Solia flat iron. it is better quality, doesnt break,is revitalizing on damaged hair, is cheaper, and just plain all around better. look at the before and after pictures if you dont trust me! and also for your damaged hair i highly recommend the use of BioSilk Silk Therapy its seriously a miracle!!!

Plates
I am a little shady about the whole moving plates idea...do the plates get a good grip of your hair or not? Do the plates actually close and touch eachother? Please answer!

I also was a bit unconvinced by the moving plates but i am sure that the plates touch each other. it looks just like a blue version of the true ceramic pro. i have used the true ceramic pro. do not purchase it the red coating of the plates will wear and tear within a few days. plus, the solia is the #1 bestseller so don't worry. :)

Solia gets hotter than Sedu?
I noticed that the Solia goes up to 450 deg while the Sedu only goes to 410. Do you think this makes a big difference in the results or texture of hair? I'm trying to decide between Sedu/Solia before my birthday and still debating. Thanks

like i said earlier Solia is much better than Sedu!! the heat makes a big difference to me but i think it depends on the hair type. i have thick, wavy/curly, long hair with the solia my hair is farely thin, stick straight, and even longer! the solia works wonders i cant say that the sedu is horrible cause i've never used it but with results like this with the solia for 30 dollars less i have no desire to try the sedu it cant be any better than this

Durabilaty
I have very very very curly hair. my hair has also been color treated many times, so its very crunchy and nasty, i hate it. My friends call my hair "the monster" because its so frizzy, curly and HUGE. I bought a 30$ revlon ceramic hair straightener, i was satisfied for about 3 days, until it barley worked and the ceramic started to come off the plates! So i decided that i want to buy a high class straightener that MIGHT actually work. I was just wondering if this flat iron is truly ceramic and wont come off! I was also wondering how long it takes (my hair is shoulder legnth) to flat iron it if i dont blow dry it (pain to blow dry and damages my hair real bad)And how many passes will it take to make my hair stick straight? Is this product worth buying or should i get something else? Please answer! thanks

i'll let the picture say for itself... go to the customer review section and go to page 7 of the reviews on there is a girl who has the poofiest curliest hair i'd ever saw and then the after pictures of her stick straight hair and she explains the whole process step by step, picture by picture. hope this helps! much luck!

I have used both and I think Sedu is healthier for the hair. If you are gonna use it everyday, I would suggest Sedu
