Ok so i bought this flat iron after spending lots of money on the ones in department stores and i loved it at first, it normally took me 45 minutes to do my hair but with this product it took like 10 minutes and it left my hair super straight....but after only 5 months it started not getting as hot(burn your a** hot) it would just get luke warm. Now i would use it at least 5 times a week and that might be the problem...another thing i didn't like about it was that is didn't automatically turn it self off u had to either unplug or turn it off yourself....

i am an african american female. my hair is really nappy. most of my friends say they've never seen such type hair. even when i put a perm on my hair i still have an afro. lol. so i usually wear weaves ( wet & wavy ) and nothing can get them straight either. so after reading the reviews i bought this flat iron. I LOVE IT!!! at first i was just using it on my weaves, but then one day my friends put it on my ponytail, and OMG... my hair was no long frizzy. i didnt even know my hair was that long. so yes I LOVE THIS FLAT IRON and the fact that its PINK!!!

Had if for about 4 monthes and used it lightley..broke after monthe four and when I did use it it broke my hair(snagged it) ...

I've had a straightener last me 3 years, and this one broke in a little over one. It was good while it lasted, but I dropped it probably once, then the wire got loose and now it doesn't turn on. I'm changing my company. Good for awhile. I guess.

I love this iron because my hair is so thick, and it is still able to make my hair straight in one pass.
I have practiced curling, and now I am able to. The curls last a few days, and curling iron curls only last an hour or so on me.
So if you are thinking about buying it, please do.
This product snagged my hair too much!

I used the Sedu first and loved it but, I let my younger sister borrow it and it never came back so I decided to try the Solia b/c it was cheaper...well, it is not half as good! It snags and just doesn't get the job done! My hair feels fried afterward...needless to say I just purchased another Sedu!

I got the pink solia flat iron on Christmas of 2006. I have had it for more than a year and half and it is still working good. I have natural wavy and fizzy hair. It cut doing my hair half the time I spend with a cheap flat iron. This flat iron smoothes my hair and shines as well. The same Christmas my sister got the chi flat iron, hers stopped heating up and working about six months after she got it. I have noticed that my flat iron has damaged my hair lately. But what flat iron and curling iron doesn't. But it's also almost two years old, it's probably time for me to buy another solia. I would definitely choice this flat iron over other brands.

I purchased this iron for my very thick,coarse,wavy hair. I had tried a CHI before and it didn't work that great on my hair. It took a few passes to get it really straight. This iron is amazing!!!! It gets really hot very fast. I use it on the highest setting and one swipe and my hair is pin straight. I used to have to blow dry with a round brush then flat iron to make it look good. Now I let my hair air dry and just use the Solia. I have actually thrown out all my anti- frizz serums because I no longer need them. The best iron for the best price!!!!!!

I got this straightener for my birthday, and I looove it. It gets very hot, and makes my hair super straight. My only problem is that I have to go over each strand a couple of times, to get my desired results and it occasionally snags, but i still love this straightener, and my hair stays straight for all day:) so definately go buy this straigtener.

i have naturally wavy hair and my other store brand straightner did NOT work for me, but this... was absoultley the best! i've tried my friend's CHI and it pulled my hair, not this one! And it heats up speedy quick in like, under 30 seconds!!! My mom has naturally really really really curly hair, i straightned her hair in under 30 minitues, same with my aunts who has the same type of hair! I recommend this product to anyone!!! ~Amanda~

After reading all the good reviews I purchased this flat iron and was somewhat dissappointed. My friend's HAI straightens my hair much faster and at a lower setting. This flat iron will only give you supper straight hair if you take the iron to the same hair section several times. It isn't very good.

I'll admit it takes a while to get the hang of this iron, but once you do, itll be sooo worth it! play around with it a bit and get used to it. I love the way it leaves my hair pin straight, and how it makes lovely curls...easily! my thin frizzy hair used to never curl no matter what...now with this iron i curl my hair in 30 min and itll last all day! all i do is add some leave in conditioner and then curl and its good! My sister has thick long hair and it works perfect for her too!

The Solia was a good product, it never was exceptional in my opinion, however, it heated up fast, never snagged and was very effective on frizzy hair. I purchased my iron a little over 2 years it has shorted out. It first started with a flickering on and off of the red "on" indicator light and then about 3 weeks later I smelled the components burning and poof it had died.

Ok so I bought my solia a while back and had very high expectations for it considering it had such great reviews! Well, I received it in 3 days and LOVED IT imediately!!!! It exceeded my expectations by far! It makes your hair very straight, soft, silky, shiny, and many other good things that have to do with hair! It also makes lovely curls, spirals, you name it----solia can do it! I would VERY highly recommend getting this product!!!! I just wish I would have ordered mine off folica.com because I ordered it off of some other website that charged me the full price of $150 for it!!!! I could have got it here for only $85----a great price for a great iron!!!! Don't hesitate....just buy it and prepare to love it!!!!

For the longest time I was using a helen of troy flat iron, which always took forever to straighten my hair and made my hair look dry and I would get a ton of breakage. Finally I decided to invest in a ceramic straightener. When I saw this one I instantly loved it because its pink but once I tried it, I fell in love. This product straightens my hair in no time and it makes my hair look smooth and healthy. I love this flat iron!!

This straightener is pretty good, except the plates didn't even fully meet up, so I had to push down SUPER hard or had to go over my hair several times, which damaged it a bit!! It heats up fairly quickly as well, but I'd prefer a straightener that has plates that actually connect properly. I just ordered a chi online and hopefully that works better...

I purchased this flat iron almost a year ago. A few months after I got it one of the round things at the end fell off, but no big deal, didn't effect it or anything its just there to cover. Sometime, two or three months ago I noticed one of the plates was scratched. I am not sure how it happened because I keep it in the lil travel pouch and clean it with only soft clothes. Also here in the last week or two where my cord connects to the straightner has gone out. There are only two particular! spots I have to have the cord for it to work. Other than that this was a great flat iron. It has almost been a year and as I understand the thing with the cords tends to happen. I wish it wouldn't have happened or I would have been able to use it more than a year. Those are my only complaints. I also should mention I was crazy curly hair and it is hard to get straight but this flat iron did great, while it lasted.
