The first iron i had was a chi. I was fine with it and didnt know any better.
then i came across folica.com. i found this iron and read all the great reviews and i thought i had to get this iron. i asked my mom and she said i had to buy it on my own. so i did.
when it came i tryed it out immendenty because i was soo excited after reading the reviews about how shiny &&straight it made your hair. it did nothing.
so i decided to keep giving it a chance. i used it from about april-june and was fed up. then summer came, and it was hot &&humid so i wore my hair natural&&wavy alot.
Then the beginning of school came, and the fall. i decided to try my chi again. after the first time of using my chi again i was hooked. it works so much better than the solia!
now my hair takes around 15-20 mins to straighten w/ the chi and its really thick too. its made my hair much heathier and its growing alot faster too.
im not trying to put down the solia, i just want people to be aware that i didnt work for me. i dont know if it was just me or what but i just wanted everyone to know, that after using the solia was so dissapointed && am so glad&&lovin the chi!!

I bought this flat iron about 5 or 6 months ago and Loved it. The one I had that was cheap broke my hair around the bottom of the iron and would grab my hair. Gets hot fast, and has a nice strait finish. My hair has been fried by bleach over the past few years and this even fixes that problem. My big complaint is that it BROKE AND DOESN'T WORK after only 6 months.

i just bought one today and i love it i made sure it was good by looking at the reviews i dont have any pics beacus mine i havent used yet but i have short hair and i alwas like it a certain way but i know this isa the thing that i have been waiting for

I love this straightener, it works great. I got in in September and have been using it every week. It straightens my hair in only 20 minutes and my old one (remington) took me like 45 minutes to straighten. LOVE IT!

I GOT MY SOLIA 2DAY...I DONT DO REVIEWS..I HAD TO GIVE THIS PRODUCT PROPS...THIS IS MY 2ND PROFESSIONAL IRON. I BOUGHT A MAXIGLIDE IN SEPTEMBER I THOUGHT IT WAS GOOD BUT I DIDNT KNO BETTER. THE SOLIA I WANTED TO USE AS A FLAT IRON/CURLING IRON. MY CURLING IRON WOULD LEAVE ME END LOOKIN SO DEAD AND DAMAGED. IM AFRICAN AMERICAN WITH 4A/4B RELAXED HAIR. I JUST STARTED RECENTLY PRACTICING BETTER HAIR CARE BECAUSE BEFORE IT WOULD CONSTANTLY BREAK OFF.
FIRST I PUT THE IRON ON 300..ITS SMALL SO I CAN START AT THE ROOT...IT GLIDE DOWN AND LOOKED SO SMOOTH...I CURLED IT AND THOUGHT I GAVE ME SMOOTH CURLS...MY MAXIGLIDE IS HUGE N HEAVY THE SOLIA IS TWICE AS SMALL AND TO ME IT DID SO MUCH BETTER. SO FAR I LOVE IT I HOPE IT LAST LONG...

Okay. Here i am writing a review as i promised! I was waiting for my new pink solia for days, people were saying how it was coming to them in only 2 days! Since the warehouse is in new jersey and i am in MI i was positive it wouldnt take long. Well, it took the standard five days which is average, and i really liked this website because you can track it to see exactly what city it is at and when it will be arriving. It came in a plain box with my other products in it. I opened it and i dont see why others were so shocked with the color! It was not pepto bismo pink, it was like the picture!It comes with directions which i do advise you to read because it is different than other straighners for ex: unplug it when not using and such. Well i wasnt supposed to use it until christmas but i did! :DD
It turns on soooooo fast. Only but maybe 8 seconds and it is rea dy you can tell from the frequently blinking light. As far as how good it straightens i wouldnt say it is all the fabulous but only because i have pretty much straight hair anyway. It is fabulous dont get me wrong but i have a remington t studio one and it straightens about the same but solia makes it softer AND shinier (def. noticable) because i had damaged hair and getting it yesterday i notice a difference! It stays straight for completely all day!I use protectant and shiner which helps also. The only thing i dont like about it is that it does get a little dirty, but its really easy to clean. Also the edges are curved which is adjusting for me because i seperate my hair with them (dont ask). Also people were complaining the the plates dont line up or anything, well they do so dont let that stop you. I do not regret buying this and i love it. I do admit curling with it is difficult (havent mastered it yet)but i love love love it!!!

Okay, well i have had 4 previous straightners and the best one i have had would be my remington TStudo 1 in. I have short hair but extensions so i want perfectly straight hair with exceptions of curly hair some days. I have found that the smaller panel flat irons make my hair straighter. I have course hair because when i first started heating my hair it was a metal one. I am purchasing the solia, which i had bought yesterday with free shipping! My hair dresser was telling me that the chi was amazing but after reading THESE reviews i am getting this one. I hope it works, but some are saying it stops after 5/6 months. Its not that exspensive considering my current one was 125 bucks.I cannot wait to use it because i envy long, shiny, silky, straight hair. When i get it (a few more days?some say tomorrow!) i will post a review. Hope it'll help.
p.s. it is pink!how saweetttt

I brought my flat iron in May, 2008 and since I've been using it, it has made a huge difference in the way my hair looks, feels and how long my hair stays straight til it's time for it to be washed. I had been using cheap, so called flat ceramic irons for a long time and all they ever did was break my hair off. I will always love this ceramic flat iron because it has ceramic plates not just ceramic plated and it pushes out an sufficient amount of heat.

I only had this straightener for less than two years and it completley crapped out on me! I had high regard for this straightner since my last one (the CHI) also craped out too. I admit that i would wrap the cord around the iron on my CHI, but i made sure with the Solia that i never did that so i wouldn't have that problem again.. These irons aren't cheap!! It did the job when it worked, but i wouldn't recommend this one. I'm starting to think that the company's that make these irons purposely make them to only last two years!

I currently own a 1 1/2 inch sedu, but was looking for a smaller straightner because I recently cut my hair much shorter. After reading Solia's great reviews, I purchased the pink 1 inch solia. I immediately noticed that the solia did not glide through my hair as easily as the sedu. However it, for the most part, straightened my very curly hair in about one pass. The results were pretty good, my hair was straight and pretty shiny. However, the a few hours later I noticed that my hair was starting to wave up. The second time I used the solia I noticed that my hair was more dried out than with my sedu. In the end, I am not impressed with solia, I have sent it back for a 1 inch sedu. To sum it up, solia is okay if you are looking for a cheaper iron, but why not spend the extra 30 or 40 bucks and get the sedu. I've had mine now for over 2 years and it still works great. I promise my hair looks and feels so much healthier with it, and my hair stays pin straight until I wash it.

I just got my Solia Pink Flat Iron today, and I couldn't wait to open the box and use it. I read the instructions, popped some of the bubble wrap (hehe) and I started using it. I was kinda shocked when I first starting using it cause when I touched the iron I felt like it kinda shocked me or something. But I forgot about that problem, and continued straightening. Now, for sure, I was shocked. My gross frizzy, wavy hair had disappeared into smooth straight hair. After only 1 use, I have fallen in love with it. Plus, it's pink!

This iron is simply fantastic. It's very, very easy to use, super light weight, heats up in a matter of seconds and leaves my hair smooth and straight. I have a very short bob haircut and it keeps my hair looking nice and sleek! I absolutely recommend this flat iron! Oh, and the price tag is great too.

I just got this flat iron today.
I really like the color,but the light won't stop flashing.
the box said that it was going to flash for 30 seconds my flashed for 20 min and I just unplugged it.It also seemed to make my hair a little frizzy.

i am half black, and my hair is CRAZY curly. and i hated it. so i bought a chi. that worked ok for a while, but then it slowly started to not get as hot. and i had dropped it on the carpet and it had broken in half!!! i hated this stupid chi. but when i orderd this solia my hair was SOOOO!!! much prettier. it made my hair 1000 times smoother. and your hair stays healthier longer, so you don't need to get it cut as much.

I purchased the pink Solia flat iron. I just to hate my hair and now I get compliments all the time. This is a very good product. My hair would not come out like it did after my stylist flat ironed it but she did give me one tip,when you are flat ironing your hair follow a iron, section your hair, I use a rat tail comb, comb a section with the flat iron right behind it, it evens the out the heat, and now my hair looks just like I had it styled. Great, I love it. Anyone can look like they came out of a salon with this flat iron.
READ before buying!

So I used to have a CHI 2" but it recenty broke because I dropped it plenty of times, so I've been researching flat irons and my hair dresser told me about folica. I read alot of the reviews and I was really excited to get this pink iron. It worked reall great! I even would curl my hair like in the picture. Anyways, on the first day of school, for some reason it just did not turn on. It sucked and I had taken really good care of it! I wouldn't even wrap the cord around it because I didn't want the wires inside to break. I still don't know why, but it won't turn on or heat up, so I just have to rely on the warranty I guess. I don't know if it's the brand, or just that particular iron, so Ill have to wait and see if the next one will last. If you're looking for a long lasting iron, I wouldn't go with this one, even though it heats up super fast and works really well. If you really want it to last, then spend a little more money and get a CHI!!
