I just received this flat iron about 2 days ago and I bought the biosilk heat protectant. For any flat iron purchase, buy this stuff and use a small amount. I owned a Sedu previously and I absolutely LOVED it. The heating element was going on it. I had to twist the cord a certain way to get it to stay on. It's just about 2 years old so it's time to put it to rest. The Solia is a very decent iron. I admit, it doesn't glide as smoothly as other irons but it gets the job done! Plus, it's PINK! If you want a lower cost flat iron that works just as well as the more expensive irons, then this is a great product to try! The ceramic plates don't pull my hair and within two strokes my strands are straight (I have stubborn wavy hair). Definitely an excellent product!! Great job Solia!

I have had this straightener for about a year now and it has just started to break down only b/c I decided yesterday to clean it and by doing so, retarded me, I decided to run it under water! It was working perfectly before. Heats up very very fast, perfect when you're in a rush to get ready for classes! I recommend this to anyone. Although, I would not purchase this straightener again, I would purchase a GHD b/c their designs are cuters! :)

This flat iron is amazing. I have relaxed THICK hair and got tired of paying so much money to have my hair done. This gives me salon results at home. I LOVE IT.

When I first used this a few years ago, it was awesome. It straightened my hair fast and no damage. But, the power light was blinking for a while now it turns off and on when it feels like. I would rather spend a bit more on a flat iron than buy something cute. If you want a iron that lasts long, don't get this one.

bought this straightener off of folica a little while ago and i really do love it! it heats up quickly, makes my hair shiny and soft, and gets the job done really fast! I don't think straightener's can get much bettter than this!
definitely worth the money,which isn't a lot compared to other straighteners!

I just received this iron yesterday and could not wait to use it. I have very thick, naturally wavy/curly hair and with my Revlon straightner it usually takes about 30 minutes just to straighten. However, with this Solia - it took my a total of 30 minutes to BLOW DRY, STRAIGHTEN, AND GET DRESSED! --- Holy cow, I am in love. This straightner takes hardly anytime to get your hair gorgeous .... I recommend it to anyone that wants to save time in the morning AND have gorgeous, salon straightened hair. I don't really like to leave my hair wavy/curly - so now with this Solia I can straighten it all of the time. THANK YOU for making such a wonderful product!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i did a lot of research on straighteners before i purchased one about two weeks ago, and i read that solia was one of the best. it really is! i have thick wavy hair and it has really cut down the time it takes me to straighten my hair. it used to take me about 15-20 minutes with a conair straightener, now it takes me about 10-12. i love it! the straightener was a bit smaller than i expected it to be, but its one inch. it has multiple temp settings so its good for all hair. you can even curl your hair with it. i recommend this straightener!!! plus its pink so its pretty =]

I have had this product less than a year and have taken great care of it. One day it just stopped working the cord has loosened and now it turns off in the middle of straightening I am trying to get a new one with my 1 year warranty and no response. Don't Recommend

My husband bought this flat iron for me as a present. He loves when i straighten my hair and it used to take me so long with my previous flat iron and the results did not last. When i use the Solia it takes half the time and my hair stays perfect (except when i sweat too much and the hair gets wet:). I bet it would keep my hair straight for days except for the fact that my hair gets greasy and i have to wash it. The only down side is that my hair is not perfectly smooth right after using it but it becomes smooth a few hours later and looks especially amazing the next day. Overall I love this flat iron because it makes my long curly hair look like it is naturally straight. The fact that it is pink including the cord is the icing on the cake.
Spent....some money over the years...

This is by far the best purchase that I ever made on a hair tool. Amkes my hair smooth and soft. I have fine color treated hair. It works wonderfully. Getit if you can afford it it is worth every penny.

I got my solia for christmas. it works well and keeps my hair soft and shiny. It doesn't damage my hair and doesn't make it poofy. I had the remington wet2straight. i hated that. it left my hair poofy and frizzy. my only complaint with the solia is it doesn't seem to keep my hair straight. It with start to curl up after like a half an hour. it has deffinately gotten better but it still waves up a bit

I live in Louisiana so a good day is one with about 70% humidity for the day. I bought my first chi a few years ago and it worked wonders on my frizzy mess of hair. Unfortunately, after 5 years of using that chi my dog chewed it up so I came to this site to buy another but found the solia and it had AMAZING customer reviews so I bought one. Even though, the temp on it is supposed to get higher than a chi's it does NOTHING for my hair. If it's a rainy humid day outside I can forget having a good hair day even if I use my solia....I cannot stress that this flat iron is NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY! PLEASE BUY A CHI!

My hair is naturally straight, but gets wavy the morning after I wash it. I've used the drug-store brands for 5 years until I finally decided to invest a good one after reading the reviews. Overall i am very glad that I did. I picked this one mainly because of the color, and the price (the promo price was the same 1 year ago so it's probably not gonna go up any time soon), and I like how the flat iron heats up quickly, gives my hair a straight finishing without seemingly damgagint my hair, and it is easy to handle and use. But on the first few days I received it, it wouldn't turn on for some reason, but I tried it again and now it's been working fine for the past year. I also wanted to use it to curl my hair, as my hair would never hold curls no matter what I did to it or what products I used. This actually created curls and made them hold for half a day! I'm very happy about that. BUt I have to admit that flat irons aren't the best tool to curl hair. So I'll probably look into a curling iron again, which may not work for my hair, really.

I have had this flat iron for a little more than a year, and recently its been having problems turning on. Now it wont even turn on at all and if it does it turns off right away. This product has worked so well on my hair so i was very dissapointed when this happened. I say you should spend a bit more money on a better flat iron like a chi.

I got the pink solia after having the sedu, which was alright,but not as good as the solia, for a year, the solia is refreshing. I personally haven't found a very effective method of straightening my coarse, curly, frizzy hair, so it takes me 2-8 hours to straighten my hair, but after im done, my hair is smooth, shiny, and much thinner than usual. I definatley recomend this product.

i got my solia iron in the mail on dec. 31st and so far so good. i does snag just a little bit (but not as much as my old revlon flat iron) but thats because i haven't cleaned it, and my hair is really thick and kinda course. well it makes my hair so so so soft and shiny, and no more poofy hair! yay! also its a bit darker than in the picture, but i like it better darker. also can i clean it with alcohol?

I had been going crazy for the past few months trying to find the perfect iron and I finally found it! I bought the cheaper brands thinking "what's the difference? It's a flat iron". I will do the same job as the expensive one, but without buying the expensive one". I was wrong because the cheaper ones pulled my hair, made it drier etc.
I've read thousands of reviews on The Chi, on the Sedu and others. I did my research thoroughly and I asked for this Solia because of the positive reviews I had read here. I received the Solia 1" for Christmas this year and used it right away. I was so excited! My hair is thick with waves and dry. But now, my hair is smooth, silky and STRAIGHT!! Don't waste your time on the cheaper brands. Save your money and invest in this one! You'll love it!!

I love this straightener! The solia won't snag your hair or leave frizzy ends like other straighteners will. Even when I tied my wet hair into a bun for over 24 hours, solia got my hair to be bone straight. This is a great catch for someone who wants a good priced straightener that heats in 30 seconds, makes your hair silky straight and holds good curls, all without snags. And it comes in a stylish pink color!

I just got my Solia a few weeks ago, and I absolutely love it! It is totally amazing, and so much better than a CHI. I am glad i did NOT buy a CHI because it doesn't have a temperature control and I read the reviews on here before making my decision on what to buy. Solia is such high quality and I love the pretty pink color. Everyone compliments me on my hair when I use it. Also I love that the price is right and it's affordable, even for me, and I am extremely stingy! I always tell all my friends they should get a Solia straightener and I got it at folica.com--it's amazing. Thank you folica.com, you rock!!!

I bought the pink Solia last September and 15 months later it's dying. It's not completely dead yet, but now there's only one heat setting that's not nearly as hot as my preferred 370degrees.
I am absolutely devastated that my beloved solia is on its way out and very disappointed that it didn't last longer.
My last iron was a Solano Sapphire plate, and although the Solia caused less hair damage, it lasted me for almost 4 years of regular use and I still have it lying around as a trusty backup.
Seeing as there's always a comparison from the Solia to the Sedu, I think I may try the Sedu this time around - especially now with the offered 2 year Warranty.
