This straightener is by far the best one that I've used. When I used my old straightener, I could hear it breaking my hair and occasionally my hair would get stuck in between the plates and the actual straightener, and I would have to pull out my own hair! This one is absolutely silent- almost NO hair breakage at all! :) It's also incredibly sleek, because it's only an inch wide, whearas my other one was 2-3 inches wide. I love my new one also because it goes up to 450 degrees and now I can straighten my hair in half the time!!!! (and my hair is long and goes to halfway down my back!) It's awesome, and I'm 90 percent sure it's the best design out there.
good for about a year..

I got this straightener about 18 months ago, it worked great for about 6 months, then okay for 6 months and around the 1 year mark I was begging my mom for a new one. I used to only use 300 degree setting on my thick, curly/wavy, frizzy hair, and it worked GREAT. It used to make my hair look really good, but it started making my hair look really dry, and flat, and it's thinned my hair out a ton. I now have to use the highest setting, in the 400s, to get it hot enough to straighten my hair, sometimes..
If you live in a place with any humidity, do NOT get this straightener. It's horrible to use on the east coast, but it works pretty well in Mexico.
So far so good.

Only had it for a few days but so far so good. It left my hair smooth and silky. I used the Babyliss Ionic Nano before this one and that was actually better but it just got too hot even on the medium setting, so you can burn your face or neck if not careful. So I returned the Babyliss and got this one and although it take a tiny bit longer to straighten my hair and I have to use the highest setting, it really does work great. If I were to do re-order again I would have ordered the 1.25 inch Solia one. I really prefer a thicker iron, this one is quite thin and I don't know if that contributed to it taking longer to straighten. So I do recommend a Solia to anyone looking for a decent flat iron.
best iron i've had

I bought this iron in October of 2008 but it stopped working on June7, 2009. Thank God for the one year warranty! Even though I threw out all my info, I called Folica and they gave me the information I needed to get a replacement straightener! I'm just waiting for the new one now.
works fabulous..until it died!!

when i got this straightener it was one of the best ones i have ever had! i've had it for about a year and a half now, and my hair always got really straight, and never fried by this flat iron....the past couple of weeks though, it has not been turning on right away and spazzing out on me, until today, it just died and wont turn on at all! so if you dont mind replacing your flat iron every year and a half, this is a great flat iron...if you want one that will last, keep looking!
soooo good

this flat iron works really. well. i have super curly, super thick hair, and it only takes me 10 minutes to completely straighten my hair. the only bad thing i could say about this flat iron is this:it wont turn on if the iron is set to a temperature under about 300 degress (not that this effects me because mines on 400)besides that, this flat iron not only beats all of my previous ones, but all of my friends flat irons. definatly worth the money!
love it,and so far am loving my hair:)

I bought this SOlia iron.I don't know if its the "pink" or what, but to me it looks cheap.HOWEVER,thats the ONLY reason it got 4 stars rather than five.
I have a lot of not thin, not thick hair.Average hair.I can leave it alone, and it looks nice.It has a cute wave to it.
When I straighten it,it looks beautiful.(Yes,I love my hair).
I have the heat protector,& excellent shampoo n deep conditioner.I do hot oil treatments etc.I find it imperative and tell my 13 yr old daughter to do the same.
I'm hoping my ends dont' break. So far,So good.:) My daughter, who has very thin hair, the results on her are BEAUTIFUL.Her hair shines, looks amazing. She gets that result on 300 degrees.I tried my hair once on 400 and It was amazingly straight, and had the same look she did.
I love the straightener, its so cute, not too big,and I did do the curls on the end.I do agree it did NOT hold for the next day,but you DO have beautiful flip curls for 24 hours.;0) hope this helps.
I do recommend to a friend:) and am glad my friend recommended one to me.
It was a toss up between the baby bliss, the chi,or this one.I picked this one:)
Best hair straightener ever...until it completely stopped working.

I ordered this in August of 2008.
Despite the fact that it looks cheap and the plastic ends that cover the screws broke off, it worked REALLY well. It was the best straightener I ever had--and trust me, I've been through a few.
Lately, it has been spazzing out and not turning on or turning itself off halfway through fixing my hair.
Today, it died.
I am VERY disappointed--as I have had cheaper hair straighteners last me longer than about seven months.
Be forewarned: don't buy this straightener if you don't mind replacing it later.
I hope it's still under warranty!
reaally goood but..

i just got mine today and it works way better than the chi or the kiyoseki ones. its affordable and VERY VERY VERY durable... its very light and portable... the only downside is that the stupid free pouch you get with it sucks and it doesnt really fit in the pouch. all the people who had rated this a very low or poor rating probably just had very curly thick hair or just didnt use it good enough. it goes up to 450 degrees which is GREAT. i have brown/redish hair and its VERY thick and BIGGGG but my hair has never been this strait. If your looking for a good straitener to get you NEED to get this one! <3KaceeSmith
THE BEST TO HAVE!

I am more than satisfied with this straightener! i have thick and curly hair! i used the Remington wet to straight also! it lasted me a good three years, but the problem was my hair was breaking and i was looking for something better. I was really thinking about getting the CHI but after reading the reviews about solia, i was sold. This straightener does not snag your hair, its glides smoothly! the shine lasted for the entire day and so did the pin straight hair! im in lovE! i would definetly reccomened this flat iron to anyone looking for a straightener that does the job right in half the time as your old iron!!

the solia lim. ed. flat iron works really well! for the past year, i have been using the remington wet-to-straight & was pleased with the results. it straightens hair well most of the time, although it does damage hair.
when i first used the solia, i didn't think there was a difference. later on, though, i noticed that my hair was slightlyy smoother & slightlyy shinier. also, my old flat iron straightened my hair well... until the weather changed. when the weather was cold, my hair started to frizz a little & retained a natural wave. this flat iron (so far) has kept my hair straight in any weather.
oh! & when i straighten my hair, the iron just glides through. i don't have to run it through multiple times- it straightens quickly. i've cut my straightening time from 20-25 minutes to 10 minutes.
it's also really easy to curl hair!
(: i am very pleased! hopefully it doesn't break on me (:

I had bought this flat iron and I have to say, it leaves my hair silky, and straight!
I thought I had just washed my hair differently, but it was the SOLIA!!! Cute and pink, with great plates and a high temp, I highly suggest Solia. I used to have a Chi, but it smelled like rotting cow after I had straightened it, and after 4 months, I had to chop off 3 inches of hair because the stylist said it was so utterly damaged.
P.S. Just because the Solia CORD breaks, you don't like it? Perhaps you set it in a bad position and/or the cord got to tangled.
P.P.S REMEMBER!!!! ALL STRAIGHTENERS DAMAGE!!! This one, not AS bad, but PLEASE PLEASE buy a flat iron heat protection balm/spray. I don't want hair being chopped off becuz of damage. :)
ANYWAY, Solia leaves hair at Straight as Straight, silky smooth, and wonderful.
Excellent!!

Best Flat iron I have ever used. I have super thick african american hair(type 4ab). I am also transitioning to natural hair. This iron straightens my hair very well. Use with a good pressing creme and it will look like you have a fresh relaxer!
GREAT PURCHASE!!!
