UNFORTUANLTLEY I SHOULD HAVE NEVER LISTENED TO MY HUSBAND WHEN MAKING THIS PURCHASE. I'M A LONG TIME USER OF THE CHI AND WHEN IT WAS TIME TO PURCHASE ANOTHER FLAT IRON MY HUSBAND CONVINCED ME THAT BECAUSE THE SOLIA HAD A HIGHER RATING, WAS LESS EXPENSIVE, AND PINK, THAT I SHOULD TRY SOMETHING NEW. WELL THROUGH HIS PERSUASION I PURCHASED THE SOLIA AND I AM DISAPPOINTED EVERYDAY WHEN I USE IT. THE PLASTIC PLATES DON'T EVEN FULLY CLOSE TOGETHER, THE HEAT INTENSITY IS NOT AS GOOD AS THE CHI AND WELL LETS JUST SAY I WILL NEVER LISTEN TO MY HUSBAND ABOUT FLAT IRONS TO SAVE A COUPLE BUCKS.I LOVED MY CHI AND MAYBE WHEN I CAN AFFORD TO SPEND ANOTHER 100.00 BUCKS I'LL TOSS OUT MY SOLIA.

Soo..After reading the reviews on the straightener I really thought that it would be AWESOME...and It's Oook...I had the True Ceramic Pro for like 3 years so it may just be that it takes me a while getting used to this one...I like it because it is sooo cute...and I mean it works good...But I do notice my hair getting frizzy after a while, I guess it just depends...
It pulls my hair!

I had used a $40 hair straightener for a yr or so from a chain beauty store and I wanted to upgrade. All my friends have CHI straighteners which I didn't think worked any better on my hair than my $40 straightener. So I decided to research. I wanted something that would work on my wavy hair and my daughters mixed, extremly curly hair too. After reading reviews, I ordered this Solia. By accident, I recieved a CHI in the mail at first. But Folica quickly sent me the correct straightener with a shipping label to return the CHI. I should've kept the CHI! The Solia pulls my hair and feels like its breaking it off every time I use it. Yes it straightens great, but at what cost? I see little fly-away hairs now that I never had before. I'm afraid to even try it on my daughters hair! Needless to say, I'm getting ready to purchase a Sedu now. I do want to say I'm very happy with Folica's customer service- A+++++++++++

I bought the Solia because it got good reviews and some of the money went for breast cancer but... It snagged and pulled my hair! It did a good job straitening my hair but my head hurt! Got a Sedu instead and love it!
Best Flat iron I've used

This is one of the best flat irons I've ever used. Previously I've used Crazy Straight flat irons and after a couple of months of using them they would start pulling my hair. I've read on other ones but this one caught my eye and now that I have it, I can say for myself that it's worth every cent! It warms up in a matter of one to two minutes and your hair comes out shiny and healthy looking. I also bought the Sedu professional hair dryer and that's also a MUST!
so pleased!

My daughter got a flat iron a year ago to go to London and i have loved using it when she is here. She went to college in the fall and took it with her. I have had some breakage problems with my hair and thought it would be easy on it. So i finally ordered my own. It works great and the curl last all day for my baby-fine hair. And buying it here saved me about $50. Highly recommened.

I really like the Solia, i was thinking of going with the chi instead but im glad i picked the solia. It heats up quickly and i can straighten my hair when its still a bit wet, so it saves a lot of time. It also straightens really well, i have naturally curly hair and i dont have to go over the same section of hair over and over again, it straightens it in 1 to 2 swipes of the straightener. I have previously used the futura and this is better by far.

Like everyone else on this site, I had to go thru the really bad flat irons to the mediocre flat irons....I did alot of research and decided this was the one to splurge on....OMG this is the BEST flat iron ever, I have thick, wiry sorta of wavy hair and this striaghtens it perfectly. It doesn't fry my hair or tug on it.....it leaves it soft and I don't need to use a straigtening balm, just a little leave in conditioner....I don't even need a glosser, it leaves my hair really shiny. If you have to buy a flat iron, spend the extra bucks and get this one...it is well worth the money.
i love it !!!

I bought a Solia to replace my 1 1/2" Sedu Flat Iron that finally stopped working after two years. The Solia is priced at a great price. However, I would highly recommend a Sedu over the Solia. My Sedu stopped working because I would never take care of it. I would leave it were it would fall on the floor. The Sedu is just plain the best flat iron I have ever had.

I love this flat iron. My hair is very shiney and smooth...never burns the ends like my other one. It heats up in an extreemly short period of time and is easy to use with the heat proof mat pouch, which is great for using at the health spa. I receieved many compliments on my hair now: "Your hair is so bouncy and shiney." Of course I have to tell everyone it is Solia hair and they just look as if I have a new hair shop that I go to now. It is really funny to me. Then when I tell them I got in on line within a week at Folica.com, they really look amazed. I highly recommend this product and this site.

I put off and put off buying ceramics because I didn't want to pay for them. BIG MISTAKE. I finally bought these from Folica and LOVE THEM. They make all the difference in the world. I highly recommend this item, it's well worth the investment!

This is a great straightener that I bought to replace the maxi glide straightener (which is crap). This strightner is awesome to say the least. Both my daughters use it before school in the am and it has cut the time in half compared to other straightener. Also as a bonus I think their hair remains straight all day which it did not before. I also have very curly hair and I was amazed at how straight I could get my hair in ten minutes. We just love it!!!!!! It is so light weight, pink and very easy to use and does not rip your hair out like the maxiglide. great purchase !!!!

This straigther is great. It gets really hot in about 30 seconds. I like it but my hair is so thick (and kind of wavy, but not curly) that sometimes I have to run it through really slowly a few times to get it straight. I used ot use a Chi and I think I like the Chi better.
it does the job well

The plates on this iron are silky smooth and help protect my hair from damage. It works really well, though I have to use it on the highest setting to do a good job.

I received it today and was totally excited to open the package and use it only to find that it felt a lot cheaper than the Revlon one I bought at a super center. It is mostly made of plastic and to get the plates to go together you really have to squeeze it because of the "Dynamic Alignment System".?. I feel the quality is lacking and am going to return it tomorrow. Also it arrived with the part where you put your hand on the top a bit dirty so...Just not satisfied. I am not even going to try it because I spent too much on poor quality. Bummer!
.........Not worth it.

the product wasn't as good as I thought, it doesn't curl either, just makes this weird bent shape on your hair. Straightening takes forever and the solia doesn't even make your hair that straight. I'm only giving it a 3 since I love the design...even though the plate is kinda small and short in a bad way.
Great iron!

I bought this mainly because of the reviews and the cute color (not to mention the good cause of course!) I love how smoothly my hair slides through the plates of the iron and my hair looks great when I'm done. Would recommend it.
