Cute, but that's about it...

I got this in the mail yesterday and I shipped it back yesterday. The flat iron is very cute (because it's pink), but certainly not worth the money. The product looks very poorly made- my $15 and $40 flat irons that I have now look of better quality. There is a small gap (I mean TINY) gap between the end of the plate and where it meets with the plastic tip of the iron, and it snagged my hair. I too, had one with a squeaky cord...I thought that it was catching more hair or that I was doing something wrong, but it just turned out to be the swivel cord making noise. As much as I love pink, this iron had to go back; time to get a real, professional, "big girl" iron. But I'll let you be the judge...
Plates do not close flush

The plates don't line up correctly. There is a large gap on one end of the iron. The claim is that the iron helps to restore moisture to your hair and I did not see that happening. The plates do however get really hot so you have to be careful not to burn your hair out. The color is nice, not sure how that will help with someones decision to purchase it. Good Luck!

My daughter has had 4 different flat irons in the past year and a half. This is by far the best one. Her hair alway looks like she's been to the salon. She loves it.

This is the best i just got it yesterday and had to use it on my sister. Now her hair if you saw is crazy big and curly nother like you've seen before. now he hair is the kind where if you want it straight you HAVE to a salon.
This Flat Iron is so wicked that it actually works better than the salon. For the people who read that the plates don't close that's true BUT the minute the plates touch hair the plates close perfectly on the hair i thought it was incredible. Honestly you don't have to buy a flat iron that is top of the line over $125.00 that's mad nuts. you sould buy this for $85.00 it's wicked and for people in Canada with tax it's gonna be $120.00 plus gst when the parcel arrives. Also because it's ups Canada express the parcel will come in 3 DAY AFTER ORDER i bought it on friday and on monday it came at 11:15. BUY THIS FLAT IRON!
It's okay....

I bought this iron to replace my CHI after reading good reviews about it. although it is very light weight and cute, I still prefer my CHI's performance. I mean it works fine, but it takes longer to straighten and the humidity frizzes it right back up.

This straightner only worked for 6 weeks and then it totally died. i would expect that an 85 dollar straingtner would last longer than 6 weeks. total junk!1

I bought this for my daughter who is 13 and was a little apprehensive about spending $85 on one. After much research, I decided to purchase it....BOY, did I make the right decision! This is the BEST flat iron we have ever used- (I use it too on a daily basis) It does not dry your hair out nor does it cause it to break...it justs gives it a smooth, shiny appearance! And it heats up in literally seconds. I would defintely recommend this product to anyone!!! It is well worth the money.

I just bought this straightener thinking it would be better than my other one because it is ceramic and all but i came to find out that my older one is better. I thought o theirs only a cuple of bad reviews about it so it must be good but come to find out all the bad revieews are completly true.It pulls my hair constantly and i have to go over it a gazillion times. Also the color of it sucks it looks cute in the picture but when u get it itle like a dull pink and he chord looks purple. So i sent it back and am going to buy one somewhere else. MY HELPFULL HINT WOULD BE DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT IT IS NOT WHAT IT SEEMS TO BE!!

This product is not what they say and claim for. I got the iron today and will send it back right away. The handle is not ergonomically designed. The plates don't even touch with each other unless you squeeze the handle really hard. I had pain in my elbow and hand after just trying it for 15 minutes. I will not recommend this product to anyone just a bad product. I didn't see any difference from the $20 flat iron i used before. This product is not well worth of $85, not even $20.
Unbelievably Awful

I cannot believe how bad this iron was. I could not believe the good reviews on this, I was convinced they must be fake ups from the Solia company. Im guessing I got a defective one. As a very experienced flat iron user this was worse than the cheapest Conair. It snagged and would not close together, this was hopeless. As a very curly haired girl, I recommend either a Chi Turbo or the ORIGINAL Sedu ( not the nano, dont get me started on that lol), those two are fabulous irons that can get your hair to look as tho your a naturaly silky straight haired lady.

i have naturally wavy hair that is extremely thick and i have a lot of it...my biggest problem isn't so much getting it straight (i can do that with a hair dryer), but running this straightener honestly makes you look like you were born with pin straight hair..i love it...i have also used it on occasions where i had to let my hair air dry and was totally unruly and it took me about 20 minutes to straighten my whole head. DEFINITELY recommend it.
awesome!

made my hair silky smooth and straight in just 15 minutes, and i only had to run it through my hair once! compared to my old crappy straightener which took me like 30 minutes to straighten my hair and i had to run it through my hair like 5 times to make sure it was completely straight. LOVE LOVE LOVE the fact that its pink! :]

I have been searching for a pink flat iron for a while. I've found some but they were well over $100.00 and I got this one on sale. Prior to this iron, I had one of the very first irons available, which wasn't one of the 'good for your hair' irons nor was it a wet-to-dry iron. In terms of the job done, the straightening and anti-frizz factors, this iron works maybe slightly better than my other iron, but my other iron was at least 3" wide at the plates and therefore, I could do a lot more hair at once. Why are all of these new irons so skinny? Also, this one I have a problem getting close to my scalp and the thing gets so hot, you really need to use a comb or brush to handle your hair while using it because you can burn your hand if you touch your hair immediately after it is ironed. I am not giving it excellent just because I still feel that having spent about $30.00 or so for my first iron, I still don't notice any grand difference in the overall effect of the product, so why am I paying almost $100.00 for this one? Maybe in the long run this will be better for my hair, but it's hard to tell after using for only a few weeks I guess. My first iron I think was by Vidal Sassoon if I'm not mistaken. The Solia iron's benefits are that it has a longer, no tangle cord. It dries hair a little bit faster, it comes with the pouch (great feature), has wet-to-dry capability and lastly, I never smell that burnt hair smell like I could with my old iron. Of course, one of my most important factors in choosing it, yes, its color---PINK! Too bad the storage heat-proof bag is black :(
So VERY pleased!!

This iron is amazing. I have VERY thick, coarse, curly hair. Actually, my hair looks like I stuck my finger in an electric socket. And shiny hair - are you kidding? I don't know what that is. So as soon as the iron was delivered, I had to use it! WOW! It was amazing! The pictures on this website are right. It did a fantastic job. My hair is SO straight, it lays flat on my head. I've never had my hair where it didn't puff up at least a little. Nope, not with this iron. Just as straight as can be and so shiny too. It's beautiful. I was debating on buying the Chi flat iron or this one and boy am I thrilled with my purchase. My daughter has used it as well and now wants one for Christmas. She currently has a Hot Tools iron which works well but nothing like this one. If your trying to decide, BUY THIS ONE. You won't be sorry. Oh, I just love the pink too!

This flat iron sucks. I don't know how else to put it. First of all, the plates don't match up. Secondly, it pulls your hair like crazy. Lastly, it gets way too hot. Then to top it all off, it doesn't keep your hair straight at all. I don't know...I'm a former salon manager - I had a CHI that lasted 4 years til it died. It was the best. The HAI I replaced it with was OK but I stepped on it and broke it and was happy to replace it. Unfortunately, I replaced it with this - I returned it two days later. I now have a SEDU which I still think is just OK. Next time I'm shelling out the extra cash and calling it a day with the GHD. PS If you're buying it because you like the pink, be forewarned it's more like a coral, pretty but not the picture.

I ordered the Solia Pink for my daughter's birthday. She already owns the Solia 1 1/4" flat iron, and has been using it daily for several years with excellent results. I bought her the Pink as a "back-up" iron (plus, it's her favorite color), and she reports that the 1" width is ideal for getting in close to the roots for superior straightening. She rates the Solia irons as "THE BEST EVER!!!" Highly recommended; you won't be disappointed! Additionally, all of our purchases through Folica.com have been consistently worry-free, with ultra-FAST shipping. A great shopping site.

This is thee best hair straightener for your money! I tell you, i have curly, frizzy, and very thick hair. The only other flat iron i have used is that god-awful Remmington Wet to Straight ( NEVER EVER BUY IT! ) and it fried my poor hair! I got this flat iron in search for something that could tame my beastly hair, and this was screaming for me. I mean come on. ITS PINK! Does wonders to my hair. The only i dont give it a perfect 5 is because the pink plates got worn after only a few uses. Buy it!

This hair straightener was really good!! I'm just slightly annoyed at the fact that the plates don't match up together perfectly, but I guess I can get over that. My hair now straitens completely and it looks great :).
